"Fire Emblem : Radiant Gameplay"
Fire Emblem : Radiant Dawn is the 10th Fire Emblem game and also a sequel to FE9 : Path of Radiance. The game follows the story of two Heroes, one a pure-hearted Light Sage named Micaiah, and the other Ike, who you may remember from Fire Emblem 9. War engulfs Tellius once more and a supernatural being threatens the existence of all Beorc and Laguz. Only Ike, Micaiah, and your hand-picked group of mercenaries stand in the way of oblivion.
Story - 5/10
Unfortunately, being a sequel to another Fire Emblem game, the story is a lot harder to follow if you didn't play FE9. That, and the fact that it is a complicated plot may leave you in the dark not having a clue about what is happening. The good thing is, however, Fire Emblem games are rather renowned for their gameplay, and so you shouldn't place too much value on this aspect of the game. Even if you do, it won't be anything special.
If you're looking for a compelling story, stop reading this review and don't bother buying the game. It'll be a waste of money.
Music - 10/10
Fantastic - Fire Emblem 10 offers lots of great music compared to previous FEs, and the great thing is you don't have to listen to the same track on each map like before. There is some fantastic battle music, aswell as one or two tracks from Fire Emblem 9. It was excellent, what more can I say?
Graphics - 9/10
Finally, no more re-coloured sprites! That dark age has gone. Every character has its own costume, so they don't all look like each other. The battle animations are smooth and quick, though maybe not as quick as you'd like for you to want them on. At least you can remove them in the options menu, and then still see some awesome map animations. If you have played FE9, you'll notice some vast improvements to the graphics.
Gameplay - 10/10
Ahh, I've saved the best till last. You will never get bored playing this game. With so many classes, so many units, and so many chapters and supports you can't do everything in one play-through. Or two for that matter. Or even three! The maps are larger than in FE7, 8 and 9, there are more units, a more refined laguz system than in FE9, and a second promotion. That's right, you can promote once more than in all previous Fire Emblem games!
Heed my warning however, easy mode is easy, normal mode is hard, and hard mode is just INSANE. You can challenge yourself and try to complete hard, or have a smooth play on easy. You won' bored because it's just so dang fun. Weapons, magic, laguz (people who transform into animals such as cats/hawks/wolves etc.). The hardest challenge of all would be trying to get bored of the game.
Overall - 8/10
If the story was good, and they had the opportunity, this game would quite possibly be the greatest game of all time. Like I said, if you want story don't bother. If you want a good game to play for hours and hours without boredom, this is the game for you.
Buy it? Yes
Rent it? No, just buy it man =)
Enjoy the game.
