is a combination of both. This one is on another RPG, Super Paper Mario, one of

This fight involves a simple strategy, as do all of your fights against him.
Simply get Thoreau and grab O'Chunks (yes, he isn't THAT heavy). Go over to the
right edge of the area and toss him to the right. Jump onto him as he rolls and
do a Stylish move. Typically, he'll jump for some reason, thereby getting
stomped by you. Continue the consecutive jumps/Stylishes, using Thoreau again
when needed. Assuming you're Attack is 2, this will take about ten jumps.

Of course, you probably want to know your opponent's offensive moves, just in
case. Well, O'Chunks can do a basic charge and a basic leap -- nothing too
special. He can also grab and violently throw you (still for only 1 damage),
after which he'll taunt you, leaving himself open.

Fracktail will use a general cycle of attacks as follows:

Firstly, he will fly into the background, circle twice, and then come in and
try to chomp you. Either being chomped or touching his spine as it flying past
will damage you.

Then he'll fly over you. It is impossible for you to be hit.

Then he'll fly in from the side. Go into 3D and, after Fracktail's head passes,
jump onto his back.

Thus, you'll be atop Fracktail in the sky. Use Thoreau and grab a Frackle (the
duck-thing) and throw it at the yellow circle on Fracktail's attenna. Do this
several times.

Soon, Fracktail will loop. As he does, go to his tail and, as you're about to
fall off, jump as far to the right as possible and you might stay on. If you
fall, you'll start from the top all over again. That's about it. The battle
ends when you empty Fracktail's HP.

Mimi has three main attacks: she'll crawl around and try to damage you; she
can create a "wave" of Rubees from the ground; and she can throw Rubees at
you.

Your preferred character should be Peach (because of the parasol-shield to
guard) with Thoreau. There are actually two strategies I've discovered to this:

~~ Simply grab the Rubees with Thoreau and throw them at Mimi. Eventually,
   Merlee will cast her spell and make Mimi vulnerable again.

~~ Do like you did with O'Chunks: grab Mimi, throw her into a corner, jump on
   her, do a Stylish move, jump, and so on.

Damaging Mimi enough causes some of her legs to shed. Additionally, doing a
double-jump on her causes her to lose a leg. Once she loses all eight legs, you
win.

That spiked note denotes that Bowser is spiked; therefore, jumping on him or
picking him up via Thoreau will damage you for one HP.

Seeing as you lack an axe, a bridge, and lava (SMB1 reference), and you can't
jump on him, you'll have to use Boomer. Simply try to get Boomer near Bowser
to deal some damage. Easy enough.

For reference, Bowser can jump as in the original SMB, and breathe fire (which
will detonate Boomer).

The major attack this boss uses is an easy-to-dodge tentacle attack. In fact,
you want those tentacles to rise. Switch to Bowser and wait and dodge until a
RED TENTACLE (remember Barry's clues) pops up. This is the boss's weak point.

Unfortunately, it won't matter whether you use Bowser's flames or Thudley,
because the boss is dealt with in three hits of any damage to the red tentacle.
I simply suggested Bowser and his flame because I find it easier; use Thudley
if you find it to be easier.

Let's go over some attacks. Mainly, he'll throw the magical sparkly things at
you, sometimes more than one. Dimentio can also fly-tackle you and create these
weird boxes in which you'll be exploded. And, of course, no demented magical
jester is complete unless he can duplicate himself. These duplicates are just
illusions -- you'll be unable to do damage to a duplicate.

Jumping is your best offense. Bowser is recommended for power, although it will
be tough to dodge Dimentio's attacks. Using Thudley isn't the best idea, as
Dimentio will likely move before the ground-pound can hit him.

After about one to three hits, Dimentio will duplicate himself, bringing a
second one into battle. Obviously, you can't damage the fake. Therefore, if you
hit one and deal no damage, focus on the other one.

Francis has four basic moves: become invisible, crunching you, using a camera

There isn't much of a strategy. Just dodge his attacks and bounce on him with
Bowser when possible. Thoreau is a pretty okay idea to get him into a corner
or something.

Mr. L's offensive repertoire consists of jumping at normal and rather larger
heights and a basic tackle. Additionally, he can even heal himself with a
Shroom Shake.

The basic idea is to jump on him. Just be careful: doing so when he's doing a
super jump typically gets you hurt. Bowser is sufficient for this. Use Carrie
to make Bowser move faster, or use Thudley to get more damage in: your choice.
This, though, was just the appetizer.


After your mano-y-mano fight, Mr. L calls forth his robotic buddy, Brobot. This
room is a bit small for such a fight, so you are sent to outer space for the
main course. (Oh, you have your helmet on and can use Squirps.)

This bad boy can fire small missles, giant homing missles, an eye laser, and a
big long laser. He can also suck you in.

For this, you are going to fire Squirps rapidly, each hit dealing 1 damage. In
general, mash that button. You have to fire about 255 times, so... However, you
can help yourself with the candy bars floating about. The can speed you up,
give you four more Attack, give you more shots per button press, or make you
invulnerable for a short time.

Again, there isn't too much of a strategy. Most of the attacks are easy to
dodge, and all you need to do is mash the button.

tornado and thwack you, and pluck and throw the ground.

Yeah, that leaf made O'Chunks a "bit" unpredictable. However, I'd prefer to
remain predictable. Use Bowser and Thoreau to grab and throw O'Chunks into a
corner, then smash him! Repeat as needed. You'll probably take a bit more
damage than usual, so be ready to heal.

For this first part of the battle, all the King can do is throw his head and
other flowers at you. If you use Thoreau to do the same to him (throw his at
the flowers, or the flowers at his head), you'll deal damage. Use Bowser to
do double damage.

Then he'll shed his skin ... or whatever.

In part two, he'll basically be a simple head that can throw razor-petals
arounds. He can use that to damage you, or attack directly. What you need to
do is grab a razor-petal and throw it at his face when it is exposed. Of
course, use Bowser to do double damage.

Despite her low HP, Mimi is quite annoying. She is in her arachnid form, as in
Chapter 2-4. She can still throw Rubees with decent accuracy; create Rubees in
mid-air to strike you; and create a personal Rubee shield.

If you want to bounce her with Bowser, you're going to wait. Her Rubee shield
will get in your way.

There are two general strategies:

(A) Grab the Rubees as Peach and throw them, ducking/shielding as needed.
(B) Use Carrie and Bowser, doing fire breaths as you jump to get rid of the
    shield. Then you can jump on her.

chomp at a time and you'll soon win. Heck, if you're around Lv. 10, you can
beat them with one attack each!

This boss uses some cool moves (as in temperature). He can breathe icy breath
to freeze you (minty fresh). He can shoot ice bullets from the cannon, usually
in sets -- they can be bounced on or grabbed with Thoreau. Finally, he can
breathe on the ceiling to cause icicles to fall shortly -- when they fall, they
can hurt you. You can grab them, too, with Thoreau.


There are two general strategies:

(A) You can grab the icicles and/or the ice bullets with Thoreau and throw them
    when possible at Bonechill. Remember, he is only weak on his head.
(B) You can alternately use Luigi's Super Jump repeatedly. You can more easily
    get combos in this way.

So, it seems Bowser is alone for this battle.

He has his basic three attacks from prior battles: jumping on you, tackling
you, and throwing you. However, he can fart upwards and divebomb you.

So, strategy? Basically, same as usual. Use Thoreau to throw O'Chunks into a
corner and bounce on him.

... That's it.

So, it seems Peach is alone for this battle.

As usual, she can throw (and poop) Rubees at you; create a tidal wave of
Rubees; and now spin as a Rubee-covered razor-thing. What does it matter --
you can use Down to shield!

Well, use your usual strategy. Using Thoreau to grab the Rubees and throwing
them at her works. While she is dizzy, bounce on her head -- repeatedly if
possible. The post-dizzy jump should break off a leg. She will get faster as
the battle wears on, though.

The battle will end after Mimi loses all her legs.

First up, a game of tag. You'll go through portions of the worlds from earlier.
Use Fleep to flip the spacial rifts you find. Got it?

LINELAND -- The rift is to the far right, near the door out of this area. Also,
            you can grab the Happy Flower from the ? Block like from earlier.

MERLEE'S MANSION -- The rift will be at the 1,000,000 Rubee safe. Get to the
                    top floor, flip, continue to the left (from 2D perspective)
                    and up the ladder. Go past the laser fields with Slim and
                    there will be the rift.

BITLANDS: TILE POOL -- Move to the left a while. You'll find a Mushroom and a
                       Happy Flower on the way.

OUTER SPACE -- Continue to the right.

GAP OF CRAG -- Go to the right and flip to get to a lower level (and both a
               Slow Flower and a Fast Flower, plus a Mushroom). The rift will
               be nearby.

WHITE VOID / REMAINS OF SAMMER'S KINGDOM -- Use Carrie or Dashell to go to the
                                            right. You'll spot it eventually.

THE UNDERWHERE -- At the top, where Dorguy the First is. The Mushrooms are in
                  the ? Blocks, too. Grab them, because of the fight happening
                  soon.

After finishing in the Underwhere, we'll return to Castle Bleck. Dimentio will
tell of his plans to betray Count Bleck; that he's been helping all along.

Then Dimentio decides to pull a Hooktail and offer you a bunch of stuff so as
to have you join him in his efforts to defeat Count Bleck. It's literally a
Hooktail (listen to the last one) -- refuse each and every offer lest you end
up with a Game Over.

After this, Luigi will stand up to Dimentio's taunting and fight him all by
his lonesome.

                         AND THUS, THE FIGHT BEGINS!

Dimentio has his typical attacks -- the magic sparkles, a flying tackle, the
explosion boxes, and self-cloning.

There are two basic idea. You either simply jump on his head... OR do the
smarter thing: Super Jump. This attack can hurt him, even from underneath, and
will do double damage. Of course, this latter method will probably make you
heal more. Your choice, I guess.

All Bleck can do for now is throw globs of stuff at you.

And, as with all Paper Mario final booses, you find you cannot damage Bleck
immediately. So then, jump on him several times and avoid his attacks.


Eventually, you'll realize that the Chaos Heart is making Count Bleck
invincible. We are soon reunited with Luigi, Bowser, and Peach. In addition,
the Pure Heart will give us the power to hurt Bleck now, so let's continue.

Like before, Count Bleck can throw magic globs. However, he can suck you into
mini-voids (the largest of which CAN be dodged; hold the D-Pad in some
direction away from it); stop you and attack; dash at you; and slow you down.

There are two major strategies. The more obvious one is to use Bowser on
Carrie to get around faster and jump on Bleck. Remember that Bowser can breathe
fire while on Carrie.

Alternatively, you can use Luigi's Super Jump, like with Dimentio. Use the jump
from underneath (it'll still damage) for ease and double damage.


After defeating Bleck, watch the cutscene. It seems Dimentio was telling the
truth (and didn't end his game) -- he did plan to betray the Count! He takes
Luigi from us and creates a monster for us to fight.

Again, he is invincible. Jump on him a few times.


After realizing that the Chaos Heart has made Dimentio invincible, we'll see a
cutscene. During this, the Pure Hearts are recreated/recharged so as to get rid
of Dimentio's invincibility and to fully heal you for what will be the final
fight!

For this fight, Super Dimentio can generally hit you; small target you, which
will be for a punch; large target you, which will be for a jump/divebomb; fire
some blinking white squares; and do some weird rapid-fire attack.

So, how to do this? Bowser with Thudley or Carrie will work fine. The latter is
best for speed and dodging; the former is best for damaging him faster. With
about 45 HP, you'll probably be fine.

This is an exact copy of the Fracktail battle from Chapter 1, except this one
is stronger and has more HP. As before, start by waiting for him to come from
the side, then flip into 3D and jump onto the back.

On the back, use Thoreau and grab the Wrackles (the ducks) and throw them at
the antenna. Do so with Bowser to deal double the normal damage.

As usual, Wracktail will eventually loop. Switch to Peach and, when you are
about to hit the end of the tail, jump and hover. Then rinse and repeat.

Dark Luigi can jump on you, and heal himself via Shroom Shakes. Barry is a good
way to defend yourself. Bouncing on him will cancel the Shroom Shake. The basic
idea is to simply equip Barry and Bowser, sort of like a more advanced Mr. L
from Chapter 4-4, I guess.

Dark Peach will simply only jump on you; the best defense, again, is Barry. As
usual, use Bowser and Barry and Fire Breath her whenever she lands. She will
probably be the easiest.

Dark Bowser can jump on you and flame you. To defend yourself, use Barry
against jumps and jump away from flame breath if possible. You should use
Bowser and Carrie for this, because Dark Bowser is spiked and normal Bowser
will do double the usual damage (minus four).

Dark Mario can jump on you like everyone else, or use a Dark Cudge (for 20
damage, double his norm). To defend yourself, use Barry against the jumps, and
GET AWAY WHEN HE CAN USE (DARK) CUDGE. As with Dark Luigi and Dark Peach, equip
Bowser and Barry. Defend when possible and jump on him. If he gets too close,
flame him.
