    				Introduction (1)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hello. My name is Stephen and I am the author of this guide. This guide is
specifically on the house expansions in Animal Crossing: City Folk - a feature
thats been in the series since the start. However, unlike in Wild World, where
there was the starting house and then 6 expansions, there is only the
starting house, and four expansions in City Folk.

If you need to specifically find something, use the Table of Contents and find
the number of what you are looking for. Then, use the "Find" feature and type
in the number. It should bring you to where you want to go. (The "Find" feature
shortcut is accessed by pushing "Control" + "F" on the standard internet
    browser.)

Version 1.00 Guide sent in to GameFAQs for approval.
    December 2, 2008

Version 1.10 Information added in regarding starting houses. Not much,
December 7, 2008 but still worth an update. ;) Oh, and GamesRadar was
added to the "allow" list for posting this guide.

Version 1.30 Information added regarding the ability to change beds in
December 10, 2008 your attic, and what happens if you pay off your final
    		     mortgage.

Version 1.35 Super Cheats now has permission to host this guide.
    December 15, 2008

Version 1.45 Added a question that I've been getting many emails about.
January 6, 2009 Check section 8 for the answer to the question "What
happens if you say no when Tom Nook asks if you want to
    		     upgrade?"

Version 1.50 Fixed an error or two in the guide, and added in more info
January 20, 2009 on variables in the first houses. Credit to SMASHbrono21.

    				Starting House (3)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When you first start playing, you'll be directed to the houses in your new
town. You can pick any of the four that are there, and they all cost the same.
The only thing that would sway your vote is their position, the house roof
color, and the type of lamp that is in your house. Really, the position of the
house and the brick pattern of the house are the only major things, as you can
change your roof color by buying new paint (or upgrading your house), and you
can easily change your lamp by buying a new one in Tom Nook's store. You can
also change the flooring, wallpaper, and bed of your house (as they differ for
each house.) [Still, thank's to SMASHbrono21 for pointing this out.]

Unlike the DS version, where you have only one house for any players in your
town, the Wii version has muliple houses, and any (real player) registered in
the game will have their own separate houses.

All of the first houses will have the same size. They have a 4x4 room, and an
upstairs that is 3x4 also known as the attic. In the attic is your bed and a
telephone. Whenever you want to quit the game and save, you have to go lie
down in the bed, and your game will end. The telephone can be used to adjust
options. Unlike the rest of your house, which can expand, the attic will always
stay the same size, which is 3x4. Another feature that should be noted about
the attic is that no furniture can be placed in it, only your bed and the
telephone. The rest of the house is for furniture.

    				1st Expansion (4)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you pay off that mortgage to the house creator - Tom Nook, he'll ask if
you'd like your house to be expanded. You probably will, as the house is
so small and doesn't really have much space for you to put anything. If you
pick yes, he'll ask what color you'd like your roof to be, and then he'll
have your expanded house ready by the next day that you play. The next day,
you'll have much more space, as your house will grow to a larger 6x6 square.
As I stated before, you're attic will stay the same.

In total, this house will cost you a good 120 thousand bells. It's definitly
more than the original house, but it's really not that much compared to some
    of the other expansions.

    				2nd Expansion (5)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After you pay off that mortgage to the greedy Tom Nook, he'll again ask if
you'd like to expand your house. By the time that you've made all the money
to pay it off, you've probably collected a good amount of furniture and items
that you want to display, but don't have enough room. So again, you can agree
to have it expanded, and again, he'll have the expansion done by the next day.
Like with the first expansion, you're house will grow outwards one "square"
in every direction, to become a larger 8x8 floor.

there's going to be a surprise for the next house upgrade...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    				3rd Expansion (6)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Alright, you're probably getting used to this by now. Pay Tom Nook, upgrade
house. Pay Tom Nook, upgrade house. Pay Tom Nook, ok, ok, I'll stop! Anyways,
just when you think you've understood everything, and are starting to get a
bit bored of making you're room larger, the game developers decided to throw
in a little twist. Instead of making your main room larger, they're going to
throw in a whole new floor! Seems like making that 248 000 bells was all worth
it. Your main floor will never again be upgraded in size, it's as big as it's
going to get. This new floor is also at its final size, and will not be made
bigger or smaller. Another thing to note is that this new floor is in between
the attic, and the main floor, so your attic will now be your houses third
level. The new level carries dimensions of 6x6, and is (unfortunatly) not as
    big as the main floor.

    				4th & Final Expansion (7)
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well, it's time for the last house upgrade in the game. When Tom Nook asks if
you'd like to upgrade, say yes, pick your roof color, and wait a day. The
next day, you'll notice stairs going down in the main floor. Could it be? Did
Tom Nook FINALLY make your house tornado-safe? Yep, there's a new basement
in your house ready for furniture. And best of all - it ain't small. It's the
same size as your main floor, which is 8x8. Paying the 368 000 was definitly
    worth it.

This house upgrade will cost you just more than half of a million - 598 000
bells. After you pay it, Tom Nook will no longer ask if you want a bigger house
but will instead state that it can be upgraded no longer. Oh well, your house
    really is quite big....

Well, that's it. All the house expansions summed up in this document. I hope it
helped, at least a little. And have fun with all your extra money!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Q: Do you really need that much space in your house?

A: Well it really all depends on how much furniture you have. I know that I'd
be able to quickly fill up my house no matter how big it was.

Q: Do you get anything for paying off your FINAL mortgage?

A: Yes, unlike in Wild World, you get something for paying it off. It's a small
flag that sits in front of your house. You can change the flag's design
whenever you want to by using the phone in your attic.

Q: Is it possible to change the bed in your attic?

A: Surprisingly, yes it is. All you need to do is go into your attic, and
press "A" in front of the bed's frame on the south side. Then, you can replace
your current bed with another. (I myself didn't know this trick, so thanks to
"Kart_Krazy" and "J.C." for pointing it out.

Q: What happens if you don't choose to upgrade your house?

A: If you say no, Tom Nook will basically insist that you upgrade it, and will
make you upgrade. The only way to avoid that is to not pay off your mortgage.
