Hi, hello, and welcome to my guide to Animal Crossing: City Folk. This is my
first, blown out full FAQ, so I'm hoping for some constructive critisism.
Through here, you'll find sections covering many major aspects of the game, and
descriptions of (almost) everything.

Quick Statistic
-----------------

This, by far, is the shortest of all the main sections.

3.1 - Creating your character = (3.CHR) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

You're about to start in your first town in City Folk, or starting a new one.
Either way, once you start the game, you will see an animal called Rover. He
will guide you on your way to your town and will set up your town every time
you visit. Proceeding from Animal Crossing: Wild World, you can choose to
either move in from your DS or create a new character. Select "Start fresh!"
from the menu.

You'll be on the 'school bus' being driven by a character called Kapp'n. Rover
will be there beside you, and will ask a number of questions. The first three
are straight forward. He will ask if the time is right. The time he gives is
the Wii Clock time. If you wish to change it, I recommend changing the Wii
Time, as the in-game clock can be a bit aphazard.

Then he'll ask for your name, then
Rover will say he likes it. Now if you answer to this "Cool, eh?" you'll be a
boy, if you pick "Cute, hm?" you'll be a girl. You confirm in in the next
passage, with the option to change it.

Then, he'll ask for the town you're moving to. Don't worry, you get to make it
up, but it'll be the name of the town you stay in. He'll give you a map of the
town, and then proceed.

The next questions he asks will determine your appearence.

I am still currently messing about with the appearence questions, so they'll be
here soon.

3.2 - Moving In = (3.MOV) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

You will now be dropped in your new town. You now should go about finding the
Town Hall using the map and talk to the Pelly (the pelican) who's inside. You
now go and decide which of the four houses availible in the town you want.

Now, you can't change this, so pick wisely. If you want my opinion, I would go
for the closest house to Tom Nook's shop. That's the most important building in
all of your town (for you, that is, as that's where you sell things to gain
bells. You'll especially want a close house for storing turnips once you get
into the stalk market).

Tom Nook will be at the house you leave and ask whether you want it. You can
chose to keep looking or to buy it. Since you don't have a single bell on you,
you can't pay it off, and so have to take a mortgage.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
3.3 - Working for Tom Nook = (3.WRK) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

To kickstart your fiscal record, Nook offers (demands, really) that you do a
part-time job at his store. Go into his shop and speak to him to begin. He'll
tell you to meet Mayor Tortimer and all the residents of the town. Tortimer
is just outside the Town Hall, and the neighbours will be about town or in
their houses.

When you've finished, Nook will give you a work uniform and tell you to get
dressed. You do this simply by opening the inventory screen (pressing the
minus button on the Wii Remote) and dragging the symbol onto your character.

Now for your first real job. You have to plant saplings and flowers around the
store. You can actually plant them wherever you want, but Nook'll be too lazy
to look. (I hope no-one noticed that rhyme...) You go into your inventory,
select them, and press 'plant' on each.

He'll now tell you to go and deliver some furniture to a neighbour. Find them
using the map or your own detective skills, and in return, they'll give you a
piece of furniture you can put in your house or sell to Nook (after you've
done all the jobs.) They'll also ask for your birthday, which you won't be able
to change later.

Your next job is to write a letter to one of Nook's customers. He'll give you
something to write on, so just select it and write. Make sure you select the
right person to send it to. You can write whatever you want, but it could get
shown to other people, so please don't write anything you don't want other
people seeing... To post it, go to the Town Hall, and go to the right window
infront of the carpet with a letter symbol on it. The Pelican on duty will rush
over to it. Talk to her, and mail the letter.

Another delivery, this time a wallpaper or carpet. Deliver it, and get another
reward. Yet another delivery, this time taking a watering can or other tool to
a neighbour, the one you sent to letter to. Deliver as normal, and go back to
Nook.

Final Job at last, and it's to write something on the Town notice board. It's
located next to the Town Hall. You can write anything, but anyone visiting your
town can see it as well, untill enough messages are written for it to be
forgotten.

Nook will now take (a rather small) 1,400 bells off your mortgage on your
house, leaving you with 18,400 bells to pay off.

3.3 - Basics = (3.BSC) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Some of you may be wondering, what do I actually have to do in this game? The
answer is simple: whatever you want. There's no aim in the game. No end to it.
If you really want something to complete you can go through the tedious task
completing the museum, collecting every item, getting the most HRA points
possible, getting the most money possible, or many other things.

But getting started requires you to know where everything is. You'll
get used to it sooner or later. An essential is tools. The normal tools
are listed below:

Shovel - Used for burying things and digging buried things up.
Fishing Rod - Used for catching fish.
Net - Used for catching bugs.
Watering can - Used to improve your town's environment.
Axe - Used for chopping down trees.
Slingshot - Used for shooting things from the sky down (not at people).
Timer - Used for timing things (not really essential).

The most useful ones are the shovel and the fishing rod, as they can be used
to get the most money. (See the money making section.)

The controls for the game are listed below.

It is located at the top right, after stoping for a second.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
5.3 - Inventory = (5.INV) =

You home is your castle. Although you can't build a moat around it, you can
decorate it to your hearts desire. Supposedly build by Tom Nook's bare hands
(ha), it's yours and it's really 'a job' to pay it off. Then, Tom Nook might
be nice enough to expand your house and make it bigger, then you can store
more items in it, and decorate it even more (then pay a bigger bill off).

Also, on the subject of decorating, your house will regulary be viewed by the
Happy Room Association (HRA), and your house might be showcased, *drumroll*
in the Big City!

6.2 - Town Hall = (6.TOW) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The Town Hall holds some essential services. It's run by Pelly (day) and
Phyllis (night), and you can sometimes see Tortimer in the back, but not speak
to him. He appears to be sleeping.

There's the recycling bin, where you can get rid of useless things you
don't want, or more importantly, get things you can sell for a small profit.
The recycling bin is emptied on Monday morning and Thurday morning.

6.2.1 - Civic Center (6.2.CIV)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The Civic Center is the left window infront of the mat with a house logo on it.
The services it provides are...

The Environment
-----------------
The pelican on duty will read to you a 'comment' on what someone thinks of
your town. It's a set comment for the amount of trees, flowers, weeds and
litter are around. It's there to inform you of what needs improving. Phyllis
usually gives more in-depth analysis than Pelly.

Town Tune
-----------
Select this, and you can revise and set the town tune. It's the tune that
sounds when it strikes the hour, you open a door, or speak to someone.
You can find many town tunes on Animal Crossing websites.

Town Fund
-----------
This lets you donate bells to the town's tresury. There's one big question,
is this the only way they get money? Well, I suppose all they have to maintain
is the hall and gate. Anyway, if you donate enough, some things may be built
and you may recive an item:

Extra Bridge -=- 200,000 bells
Fountain -=- 700,000 bells
Windmill/Lighthouse -=- 1,000,000 bells (choose)
Green Feather -=- 100,000,000 bells (Feathers are hair accessories)
Blue Feather -=- 200,000,000 bells
Yellow Feather -=- 300,000,000 bells
Red Feather -=- 400,000,000 bells
Purple Feather -=- 500,000,000 bells
White Feather -=- 600,000,000 bells
Rainbow Feather -=- 700,000,000 bells

Problems with People (or locked out)
----------------------
This option has two uses. The first being if you are locked out of your house,
because of overcrowded furniture, etc. The pelican on duty will get all the
furniture and put it in the recycling bin. The recycling bin only holds 10
items, however, and any more will be lost.

The other option is to report bad behaviour from neighbours. This option lets
you change something that other people may see, that you may not want them to.
You can delete all letters that they've sent to you, change the clothes they
wear back to the default, or change their catchphrase back to the default.

(Thanks to Stan the lion for this info)

precise).

But hold up, you can contribute here! If you make a town tune and
are proud of it, you can E-Mail it me (through the "Contact Me" section) and
I'll display it here under your name!

It doesn't have to be a song, or anything. Just a tune that you think is cool.
You can even make up your own name for it.

Nook's Shop is where you will keep visiting time and time again to sell things
to get cold, hard, bells. You can also buy regular furniture, carpets,
wallpapers, tools, medicine, and flowers here.

6.3.1 - Expansions (6.3.EXP)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Nook's Cranny
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
8am to 10pm

Nook's shop starts out as "Nook's Cranny", which basically is a run-down shop.
It houses just these amounts of items at a time:

2 Furniture items
1 Carpet
1 Wallpaper
1 Stationary (x4)
3 Tools (Never silver tools)
1 Flower Seeds
1 Medicine

It's quite rare to see timers, axes, or slingshots (these are tools) availible
in the Cranny.

Nook 'n' Go $$$ 30,000 Bells 8 Days (How long Cranny must be open)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
7am to 1am

Once you spend or sell the amount above, Nook'll decide to upgrade his store,
at the expense of one whole shopping day.
The new shop is a bit more modern, with electric doors and proper lighting.

3 Furniture items
1 Carpet
1 Wallpaper
2 Stationary (x4)
3 Tools (sometimes silver tools)
1 Paint Can
1 Sapling
2 Flower Seeds
1 Medicine

Notes
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
-Nooks won't upgrade on a holiday.
-You don't need a friend to visit to upgrade to Nookington's.
-Paying your mortgage has nothing to do with upgrades.

A week after you get Nookington's, he'll ask what you like in Shopping.
Depending on how you answer, he'll switch a week later.

 -Variety -=- Keep Nookingtons
 -Balance -=- Switch to Nookway

6.4 - The Able Sisters = (6.ABL) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The Able Sisters (Mabel and Sabel) are two porupines running a tailor shop. You
can purchanse designs there, or create your own. You can also buy shirts,
accessories and umbrellas.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
6.5 - Town Gate = (6.GTE) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The Town Gate is your path to someone else's town or someone else's path to
yours. It's manned by Booker and Copper.

You can ask Booker (left guard) if anyone's visiting your town, or for the lost
& found. The lost and found is like the recycling bin in the Town Hall, but
items in the lost and found stay there. Booker will also let you change your
town's flag, using a design you can make or get from the Able Sisters.

Copper (right guard) is the one to talk to if you want to open the gates to
let a friend in or to go to someone else's town. He'll also supply you with a
friend code.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
6.6 - Museum = (6.MUS) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Your town's museum is one of the most empty buildings in the entire town, even
less than your house when you first get it! There's no exhibits there at all.
I bet you're thinking, "Who on earth runs the place? I bet he/she's lazier than
my uncle!" Well, Blathers, the owl who runs the Museum, claims to have 'too
much paperwork' and 'maintaining' to do. But, when you hear about his fear of
bugs, (literal) hunger for fish and lack of strength, it's clear to see he's
incapable of getting outside without disaster striking.

Anyway, the Museum is the place where you can donate bugs, fish, fossils and
paintings, as long as you don't mind missing out on the money.

6.6.1 - The Observatory (6.6.OBS)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Celeste is Blathers' younger sister, and she runs the observatory upstairs from
the Museum. You can draw constalations that you will see out side on perticular
times of the year.

6.6.2 - The Roost (6.6.ROO)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
The Roost is run by Brewster, Blathers' old friend, and it is a coffe bar below
the Museum. You may sometimes find visitors there, and on Saturday nights,
the famous K.K. Slider. You can ask him to perform one of his songs, or request
one. A list of songs he performs can be found in the "Item List" section

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
6.7 - Environment = (6.ENV) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Your town has a number of notable natural features that I should go through.
Your town is assigned a native fruit at the start of the game, one of these:

Apples
Oranges
Pears
Peaches
Cherries

They are spread around on random trees throughout your town.

Another feature is the two level landscape. The higher level is north, and
lower level is south. There are two slopes that you can use to get from one
level to another.

The river, which starts somewhere at the top of the map, flows down south
through your town, untill it meets the sea. In this river and the sea, fish
live, so you can catch a bite, and earn a few (s)quid.

There are also a number of rocks around town, which, when wacked with a shovel,
can produce a bug that's been hiding, nothing at all, or (for one rock per day)
bells. That's right, it's the Magic Rock. (Explained in the "Making Money"
Section).

Near the town gate is a bus stop. You can use this bus stop to travel to the

7.1 - GracieGrace = (7.GRA) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

GracieGrace is an expensive furniture, clothes and accessories shop owned by
who else, buy Gracie. A porcupine (much like Mable and Sable) called Labelle.
Carpets, wallpapers, furniture, hats, umbrellas, clothing... it's all sold here
for more than an arm and a leg.

The items change every season, and they're listed in the item list.

7.2 - The Marquee = (7.MAR) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

This place is where Dr. Shrunk puts on (lame) shows. The price of 800 bells
though is worth it when you find out what it's all about. You can learn
emotions here that you can use by pressing the corrisonding button near the top
of the screen.

There are 4 different shows every week, so you can learn 4 differnet emotions
every week. But you can only keep 4 in your memory, so choose the ones you
want, as if it's just stopped showing, it probably won't be shown again for a
while.

7.3 - The Auction House = (7.AUC) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

The Auction House is run by a Gyroid called Lloid. The point of it is to put
items up for bid, which could (or could not) get as many bells as you could for
selling it online or to Nook. Or, you could place a bid on something you like,
hopefully getting it for less than what you would pay for it normally.
Unfortunatly, you can't see what other people bid, but the person who has the
highest bid wins. So bid as high as you are willing to go, but don't worry if
you don't win, you still get your bells back.

7.4 - Shampoodle = (7.SMP) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Shampoodle is a hairdresser run by a poodle called Harriet. She can change
your hair style and colour, for a fee of 3,000 bells. Also, you can only
change it once per day.

7.5 - Crazy Redd's = (7.RED) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Crazy Redd has lost his conspicuous green tent and now has a house where it's
still 'members only'. In there, you can buy two pieces of furniture and a
painting per week. The trick is that sometimes, furniture might be cheaper at
Nook's, while some furniture may be unique to Redd. Paintings may also be
forges, and you find this out when you try to donate them to the Museum. How
Blathers can tell a brillient forgery just from glancing at it is beyond me...

To get a membership, you must be rufused entry first, then talk to the people
in your town once you get back. One of them is a member, and might invite you
by mail if you talk to them.

Katrina can predict your future... perhaps. One thing she does do is
temperorily increase OR decrease your luck. Luck is the factor that plays in
getting questions from neighbours right, forgery paintings, and (perhaps) the
magic rock.

You can also increase your luck by having lucky items in your house, and have
your house feng shui co-ordinated.

HRA, and give infomation about it. Once you're one the list, you can ask about
recent evaluation, or to stop sending letters.

The Model Room is locateed at the back, and shows the brillience of some
people's design efforts within a theme.

This isn't a shop at all. Instead it's Mr. Reset(ti)'s control center, where
all the lights and sirens go off when someone resets the power without saving.

It's located behind the traffic cones at the very bottom-right of the area. On
a random day after 8pm, a traffic cone will be moved, and you can enter. It
will be closed after you as you leave, however.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
8.1 - Fishing = (8.FSH) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Fishing is the best way to get a one-off boost of bells. Apart from that, there
is a variety a fish appearing throughout the year, so you'll have a long time
to catch all of them.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
8.2 - Bug Catching = (8.BUG) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Bugs are just like fish. But... they're on land, and harder to spot. Like fish,
different ones appear at different times of the year, and at different places.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
8.3 - Fossils = (8.FOS) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Fossils are buryed under the ground. Lesson one complete. A random number of
star-like marks appear around your town everyday, and when you dig these ones
up, you may find a fossil. Sometimes, however, you may find a pitfall seed or
a variation of a gyroid. Fossils can be identified by Blathers in the Museum,
and then, if you can manage to keep his claws of it, you can sell it for a
few thousand bells a piece.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
8.4 - Balloons = (8.BAL) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Sometimes when the clock ends in 5 (??:?5), a balloon starts floting over in
the sky. If you have a catapult, you can shoot the present it's holding down.
Inside could be many things. You can sell them for bells or keep them as
decoration. Shoot down enough and you'll have the chance to get the golden
slingshot. It's carried by 3 golden balloons, so you'll know that's it.

Balloons take an absurdly long time to cross you town, so you'll have a good 5
or more minutes to find it.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
8.5 - Environment = (8.ENV) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

8.5.1 - Trees (8.5.TRE)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Trees are your basic plants. You can buy saplins from Nook and bury them using
a shovel. If you don't go and trample them, they will grow over a few days,
without the need for watering them.

8.5.2 - Fruits (8.5.FRE)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Fruits grow on trees. Once you start a new town, it's assigned a 'native
fruit'. This fruit is spread all over your town and are worth 100 bells each.
Other fruits are worth 500 bells each, but you'll have to get them from
friend's towns or from villager's letters.

If you have a fruit and a shovel, you can plant one by digging a hole, and
selecting your fruit and selecting, 'bury'. It will grow like a normal tree.
Once it's fully grown, it will bear fruit.

If you shake fruit off trees, they will grow back after 3 days. (Unless they
are bells from money tree

8.5.3 - Flowers (8.5.FLW)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

A few flowers are spread around your town when you start, and sprawn on a
daily basis. If you wish to plant some yourself, you can buy seeds from Nook's
shop, plant them, and the seeds will magically turn into flowers immediately.

If you have 2 different flowers together, they can produce a 'hybrid' flower
(a mix of the two).

Here are the list of hybrids:

 ____________________________________________________
| Flower 1 | Flower 2 | Hybrid |
|-----------------|----------------|-----------------|
| Red Rose | Red Rose | Black Rose |
| Red Rose | Yellow Rose | Orange Rose |
| Red Rose | White Rose | Pink Rose |
| White Rose | White Rose | Purple Rose |
| Black Rose | Purple Rose | Blue Rose |
|-----------------|----------------|-----------------|
| Pink Tulip | Red Tulip | White Tulip |
| Purple Tulip | Red Tulip | Yellow Tulip |
| Red Tulip | Red Tulip | Black Tulip |
| Yellow Tulip | Yellow Tulip | Black Tulip |
|-----------------|----------------|-----------------|
| Red Pansy | Red Pansy | Purple Pansy |
| Yellow Pansy | Red Pansy | Orange Pansy |
| White Pansy | White Pansy | Blue Pansy |
|-----------------|----------------|-----------------|
| Orange Cosmo | Red Cosmo | Yellow Cosmo |
| Pink Cosmo | Red Cosmo | White Cosmo |
| Black Cosmo | Red Cosmo | Red Cosmo |
|-----------------|----------------|-----------------|
| Red Carnation | Pink Carnation | White Carnation |
 ----------------------------------------------------

If you have a wilting black rose, you can water it with the golden watering can
for it to turn into a Golden rose the next day. Golden roses do not wilt, but
can be trampled.

8.5.4 - Perfect Town (8.5.PER)
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Now, you must be really sirious and determined to do this. Ready? Here we go:

You town is divided into 25 acres (5x5). They are positioned like this:

 _ _ _ _ _
|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|
|_|_|_|_|_|

Now, in the environment report you can get from the Civic Center in the Town
Hall, the Pelican on Duty will tell you how good or bad the environment is.

For a perfect rating, 8 acres must follow these rules (be a 'perfect' acre):

 ___________________
| TREES | FLOWERS |
|---------|---------|
| 0 | 27 |
| 1 | 25 |
| 2 | 23 |
| 3 | 21 |
| 4 | 19 |
| 5 | 17 |

| 13 | 3 |
| 14 | 3 |
| 15 | 3 |
| 16 | 5 |
| 17 | 7 |
| 18 | 9 |
| 19 | 11 |
 -------------------

For every tree after 15, you must have 2 more flowers.

Also, the other acres (17) must follow these rules:

 ___________________
| TREES | FLOWERS |
|---------|---------|
| 0 | 21 |
| 1 | 19 |
| 2 | 17 |
| 3 | 15 |
| 4 | 13 |
| 5 | 11 |
| 6 | 9 |
| 7 | 7 |
| 8 | 5 |
| 9 | 3 |
| 10 | 0 |
| 11 | 0 |
| 12 | 0 |
| 13 | 0 |
| 14 | 0 |
| 15 | 0 |
| 16 | 0 |
| 17 | 0 |
| 18 | 3 |
| 19 | 5 |
| 20 | 7 |
| 21 | 9 |
 -------------------

For every tree after 18, you must have 2 more flowers.

Finally, you must make sure that there are no more than 2 weeds per acre,
no items/rubbish on the ground (excluding buried fossils and shells), and
water your flowers so they don't die.

If you keep your town rating 'perfect' for 15 days, you'll recieve the golden
watering can of Pelly or Phyllis.

Here are the perfect reports:

Now for one of the most important aspects of progression in Animal Crossing:
Money Making.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9.1 - Fish, Bugs and Fossils = (9.FBF) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Fish, bugs and fossils are explained above, but the inevitable and aged
question appears: Sell or donate?

If you cannot stand Blathers' look of dispair, by all means donate. But, if
you're very strapped for cash, you could use fishing and digging to kickstart
your personal economy. When you have enough you can start investing in the
stalk market, and let Blathers rest in peace.

But it's up to you. You may do whatever you want in the game without
hinderence. That's what Animal Crossing is all about.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9.2 - Fruit = (9.FRT) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Selling fruits is the best may to earn money without risk. But wait a minute...
you tell me that the fruit in your town sells for a measily 100 bells a piece?
Well, what about foriegn fruits? They sell for 500 each, making 1,500 per tree!

You can take fruits from friend's towns that are different from your own,
plant them, let them grow, and plant the fruits that grow from that. Keep doing
this, and soon you'll have a huge town full of foreign fruit. Trees with 3x500
bells hanging off them.

You can even aquire forign fruit from neighbours. Simply send a message to them
with a native fruit (fruit that's already in your town) and they may send you a
forign fruit. You can even find coconuts on the beach. (Coconuts must be
planted 1 square away from the sand; they won't grow anywhere else.)

Use an axe to cut down unwanted trees and use a shovel to dig up the stump.

Once you have a town full of foreign fruit, it's time to mass harvest them.
It'll take a bit of time, but in one day you could earn more than 100,000
bells. Three days later, all the fruit will grow back, and it's harvest time
again!

Just to confirm, these are the fruits you can get:

Apples
Oranges
Pears
Cherries
Peaches
Coconuts (Coconuts never are in your town to start.)

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9.3 - Money Trees = (9.MNT) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

First, you have to have the golden shovel. The easiest golden tool to get, in
my opinion. Just get two shovels and bury one using the other. Dig it up at
least MORE than 24 hours later and hey presto! A Golden shovel. (This isn't
a money making tip, they sell for the same as normal shovels.)

Anyway, using this golden shovel, you can bury bells in the ground and they
will grow like fruit producing ONE set of the same amount that you put in.
Three times, to be exact. But there is the risk.

You see, the amount you put in is the chance it will grow. If you put
1k (1,000) bells in, there's 1% chance that it will grow. 30k (30,000) bells,
and theres a 30% chance. 100k (100,000) bells, and there's 100% chance.

But before you start buring 100 kilobell bags like mad, hear this: The most a
money tree will hold is 90k bells. So if you buy anything above 30k, the
amount a money tree will hold will be the same as if you planted 30k.

For the confused, here's a table.

Amount Buried | Amount Produced | Chance of growth
===================|======================|======================
      1,000 | 3,000 | 1%
     10,000 | 30,000 | 10%
     30,000 | 90,000 | 30%
     50,000 | 90,000 | 50%
    100,000 | 90,000 | 100%
    200,000 | 90,000 | 100%

The figures add up like this:

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Example A - 100 amounts of 30,000 bell bags are planted
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

70% (70) of them won't grow. 30% (30) of them will, producing
(90k times 30) 2,700,000 bells.

Amount gained - Amount spent = Total
  2,700,000 - 3,000,000 = -300,000

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Example B - 100 amounts of 100,000 bell bags are planted
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

100% (All) of them will grow, producing (90k times 100) 9,000,000

Amount gained - Amount spent = Total
  9,000,000 - 10,000,000 = -1,000,000

So, it turns out that no matter how much you plant, you will always lose if you
carry on for a while. You're best chance of winning is by planting 30k - 89k
bells though.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9.4 - Money Rocks = (9.MNR) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Every day, one rock in your town becomes magically financial. This means that
when you strike it with a shovel, it dishes bells out. You only have 10 seconds
you strike it as many times as you can, however. And also, you have to spend
the time searching for it.

1st time -=- 100 bells
2nd time -=- 200 bells
3rd time -=- 300 bells
4th time -=- 500 bells
5th time -=- 1,000 bells
6th time -=- 2,000 bells
7th time -=- 4,000 bells
8th time -=- 8,000 bells

To make sure you get as many bells as possible out (7 times), there is a well
known stategy you can use.

You have to dig holes shown in the diagram below to stop you backing away from
the rock when you hit it.

 ___________
| | H | |
|___|___|___| H = Hole
| H | Y | | Y = You
|___|___|___| R = Rock
| | | R |
|___|___|___|

This way, you won't back away too much when you hit a rock and then you can
keep hitting it.

9.5 - The Flea Market = (9.FLM) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

There's an event regulary on the calendar called the "Flea Market". It's a
strange day where everyone turns their house into a shop. You can buy things
from your neighbour's houses and they will come in and buy things from yours.
You can sometimes make quite a bit more than what Nook'll buy them for.

More details soon.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
9.6 - Red Turnips = (9.RDT) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Every sunday between 6am and noon, a special visitor, Joan, comes to your town,
carring White Turnips and Red Turnip seeds. You can buy one Red Turnip seed per
week. You can plant it like a regular flower, and let it grow. The bigger it
gets, the more it's worth. But here's the catch: you must water it every day,
or it'll die!

Here's a handy table to show how many days you need to grow it.

Days since planted | Value
---------------------------------------
0 days (same day) | 2 Bells
1 day | 100 Bells
2 days | 500 Bells
3 days | 2,000 Bells

9.7 - The Stalk Market = (9.STM) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Now, a character called Joan also sells White Turnips. They will probably be
the item you will buy the most, ever. The Stalk Market is Nintendo's version of
the Stock Market. Turnips are stocks, quite simply. You can buy as many as you
want at the asking price from Joan. It's usually between 90 and 110 bells. You
have to buy them in bunches of 10, so you'll need a few thousand bells.

From Monday am to Saturday pm, you can sell them to Nook for the price he asks
for. This price can be anything from 30 bells to a massive 700! But be warned:
White Turnips spoil after a week. When sunday morning approchs, all turnips
spoil.

The Happy Room Academy is a service that give your house points for how
decorative it is. Their HQ is based in the city and in there is the (new)
chairman, Lyle, and the lengendary 'Model Room'. This could be another
activity in the game: "Get as many points as you can" or "Get one of your
rooms shown in the Model Room".

Anyway, once you're signed up, you get an evaluation in the post every week,
with how many points you've earned and a comment in there to help.

Also, every week there is a contest where they rate a room based on a theme
that is set. Win it, and it'll get shown in the Model Room.

10.1 - Series, Themes & Sets = (10.ST) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Furniture series have 10 different pieces,
with the carpet and wallpaper.

If you have the ten pieaces of furniture you earn a 20,000 point bonus.
Add the carpet OR wallpaper and get a total of 25,000 bonus points.
If you have the entire series, you get a grand total of 30,000 points!

Themes can give you points for just having the carpet and wallpaper. The
formula works like this:

   3,000 points + 3,000 points
Carpet & Wallpaper PER themed furniture

With sets, you are able to combine them with Themes OR Series. You can't mix
themes or series together. However, with sets, you must have the entire set
to get the 1,000 points per item.

11.4 - Blathers = (11.BL) =

Blathers is an owl, and is the curator of your town's Museum. Being the only
staff member of the museum, he has no time to go about collecting exhibits for
it, and relies upon you to help fill the museum. He rarther oddly dislikes
bugs, for being an owl, but has a taste for fish, offering recipies when you
donate one to the Museum. In the day, you can catch him sleeping in the museum,
but he's wide awake during the night. He doesn't seem to be able to move

Anyway, Timmy and Tommy appear when Nook's shop expands to Nookingtons. They

few little changes in dialoge.

They're probably there to clear the problem of Nook getting up the stairs...

Wisp is a sprit. On a random day of the week after 9pm, if you go down to the
beach, you will hear a voice (it'll be in a dilogue box). Continue down the
beach, until you find wisp. He'll ask you to find his lamp. It'll be somewhere
on the ground in your town, probably near building in plain sight.

Once you give it to him, he'll tell you to meet him in your house's attic
(room with your bed and telephone). Rub the lamp and he'll thank you for
finding the lamp and offer a service or present. He can pick up all the weeds
in your town or wipe out all the roaches in your town. (Both of these will
appear in mass quantity is you don't play for a while or Time Travel.)

Or, he can give you a gift. He gives furniture, hats, accessories, or clothes.

neighbours would in "Hide and Seek". You can hand the knife and fork back over

Pave is a peacock who hosts the "Los Festivale" on 23rd February. The Los
Festivale is a series of events which you can participate with your neighbours.

Each time you win, you will recive a piece of coloured candy. If you take these
to Pave, he'll give you a piece of the Pave furniture series. But you also have
to give him combinations of candy to get all the pieces.

Here's the list:

__________________________________
    Item | Value |

Candy | 100 bells |

----------------------------------

I'll also try to explain the games here as well:

If you win a game, you get a candy. If you lose, however,
you will have to pay 500 bells (or a candy you have with you). How unfortunate.

I have yet to find a working solution as 'what to answer', but I have found
you have a great chance of winning on 'Soccer' if choose

Phychic
---------
You have to guess what the neighbour's thinking twice in a row. Simple. But
it is hard... and it lets you pick whatever colour candy you want!

Soccer
--------
You have to battle against the villager in penalties. Unfortunately, all that
happens in that the neighbour breaking into a mad 'commentary' rant and you
have to pick left or right to save a goal, then left or right to shoot.

If you each score a goal or neither of you score a goal, you must try again.
If someone scores AND saves a goal, they win.

Oh, yes, sometimes you're called "Pookie" in this game.

Which hand?
-------------
Simple game for the simple minded you just have to guess which hand in holding
the candy, TWO times in a row.

Vocal Rock Paper Sissors
--------------------------

It's rock paper sissors!... but using your voice. Another simple game, just win
twice to win the candy.

Heads or Tails?
-----------------

Guess what you have to do here?
Guess head or tails right three times. *Tah Dah*
But you must get every one right, and your reward is the colour candy of your
choice.

12.D - Jingle = (12.JI) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Jingle is the raindeer that hides around your town on Christmas Eve's night.
(24th December between 8pm and midnight). Find him, and you'll get a piece of
the Jingle furniture set. Every time you get another item, he'll go to a
different spot.

He will either be outside next some buildings (usually in dark spots),
or inside neighbours houses when they arn't there. (Yes, you will be able to
go in them!)

You can find him as many times as you can in the time, but you need to trick
him into thinking you're someone else. You can do this by wearing a different
hat, accessory, umbrellas or flowers. You don't need to combine them, and it
doesn't work anyway. you can order ones you've bought before from Nook, or
even go to the city and have your hair done!

Also, to save use of items, you can use your own designs as hats.

*Different shirts do not work*

Once you talk to him, he'll ask you two questions. There's two answers each,
so you can answer 4 different ways.

Here's a table to show what you can get:

_______________________________________________________________
      Answer 1 | Answer 2 | What you get: |

12.E - Zipper T. = (12.ZT) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Zipper T. is an Easter Bunny. (Another one of Tortimer's keen disguises!)
He appears sometime around April or March with a load of eggs that have suddonly
appeared around your town. The date depends on the year. (It's on the 14th of
April in 2009.)

These eggs, however, are hidden under the ground. Even worse news: they don't
have a mark or anything to indicate where they are. Try digging around places,
and you may find a few. I may be very hard to collect alot in the time, and
there doesn't even appear to be very many there anyway. You could restart the
say by *shock* TTing, but if you're against it or don't know what it is, don't
do it or worry about it.

Anyway, once you have these eggs, look inside it for 'Bunny Foil' These can be
handed to Torti- *ahem* Zipper T. for a piece of the Egg furniture seires.

Sometimes, after visiting a friends town or someone visiting your town, Katie
or Katlin will appear in your town. The other one will be in your friend's
town. The person who has Katie must bring her back to the town that has
Katlin.

Next day, you will get a letter containing one of Nook's Spotlight items.

12.G - Jack (Halloween) = (12.JL) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Jack visits your town on the 31st October from 8pm to 1am. He has a mask on,
but unfortunately, all the other people in your town wear one too. The way to
find him is to find the person who doesn't run up to you.

You can buy candy from Nook's sotry throughout October. you can give it to Jack
to get a piece of the Spooky set from him. Once you've done it, go it and back
out of a building and find him again to get another.

Spooky Lamp
Spooky Wardrobe
Spooky Chair

12.H - Snowman = (12.SN) =
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

This is the only Do It Yourself character. From the 6th December to the 28/29th
February, you will be able to find two snowballs around your town. You will
have to bring both together and roll the through the snow to build up their
size. you'll know it's getting bigger when you start having to push it around
with your hands.

If you push them off a cliff they'll break, and if you push them into the
river, they'll melt.

The 'head' should be just a bit smaller than the 'body'. Once you are
satisfied, roll the 'head' straight into the 'body'. They'll pop on top of each
other. The Snowman will give his own opinion of what he's like. If you've done
a 'perfect' snowman, he'll send you a piece of Snowman Furniture:

Snowman Bed
Snowman Dresser
Snowman Wardrobe
Snowman Sofa
Snowman Chair
Snowman Table
Snowman TV
Snowman Clock
Snowman Lamp
Snowman Fridge
Snowman Wall
Snowman Carpet
Snowman (an actual snowman)

With Animal Crossing: City Folk, you can connect to Nintendo's Internet server
and play with friends in their towns, or invite them to yours.

To connect, you must have a compatible Wireless Router. A list of some of them
are here (and some that are not compatible too):

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/ds/routerInfo.jsp

Now that you've done that, you must set it up through the Wii Settings. You
can find out how to connect and much more here:

http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/wii/en_na/index.jsp

Now that you're done and ready, you can now speak to Copper (the right guard)
in your Town Gate. Of the options he presents to you, select "Friend Code".
You will now go online and Copper will retrieve a friend code for you.

Your friend code is the series of 16 numbers that you give to other people to
allow you to see if the other's online. The two of you MUST have each others
friend codes to visit each other.

To register someone else's friend code, click on the heart on the tabs at the
bottom of the screen. Then, click "Register a friend". Enter their friend
code, name, town name, and any comments you want to include.

Once you've both done that, one of you needs to open your gates to allow the
other in. To do this, you must speak to Copper and select "Invite guests".
He'll open the gate, and the other person can visit.

If you're wanting to visit a friends town, you must speak to Copper and select
"I wanna go out!". He'll go online and retrive the list of friends who has
thier gates open, and how many people are in their town at that time. You can
select them and visit, if there is a space.

Q = Do you have to put the required amount of money in the ABD AT ONCE to get
-=-= The Reward?

-=-= No. Like your house's mortgage, you can put it in bit by bit. Once you
A = hit the magic number, you'll get the prize the next day.

Q = How many villagers can be in your town at once?
-=-=

-=-=
A = At the moment it seems like 10 is the maximum amount.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Q = Can you force a villager out of your town?
-=-=

-=-= I am not too sure, but you can report him/her at the town hall, whack him/
A = her with a tool of your choice, and avoid speaking to him/her.
-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Q = Can you get rid of those wood panels in your town that give out

-=-=
A = No. They are places where neighbour's houses are built.
