EA Playground is the more kid-like EA time of game. EA is very much known for its sports games, and EA Playground is a game for the younger, or older who just like to have some simple fun. This is an overall review.
Unfortunately, there was no REAL story. You are a kid who is trying to make your way to the top of the popularity board by battling students in minigames. You don't really get INTO the story so don't expect to be excited for some awesome video scenes.
I'm sure you have all played Wii Sports. This games graphics is the same idea as that game, but a bit better. Of course Wii Sports graphics isn't good so don't expect much from these graphics.
Like most games on the Wii, there are many options throughout the game. You may choose the games you would like to play at whatever time you want, you can battle 3 or 4 times per student, and you may do multiplayer or single player minigames if you don't want to do story. Plus, when you do minigames, you may set different rules. You may also buy different moves and objects for your minigames to use and there are 8 different games.
While you are not playing minigames, you can't really do anything. You run..... Yaaaa.... You can't sprint, jump, anything. And its figity. You arn't NOT doing minigames alot anyway so don't worry.
The main and best part of the game. Since you are playing the Wii, you are not exactly expecting the greatness of Xbox 360 or PS3, but you are looking for fun and entertaining games. This is one of them. The minigames are so much fun, and it oddly takes much skill to use certain things at right times and different techniques. It is a LOT of fun and you will be on your feet playing it. All of the games make you want to play again and again. It is much more fun playing with multiple people rather than yourself though.
After all of this, this seems to be quite a fun game. I would certainly say to buy it rather than rent it. If you rent it, you will want to play it again. The great thing about the Wii and this game is that it is purely multiplayer and is such a great group game. You will want to play it once you take it back. Buy it. It is a great game to play with your friends and you will get quite into it.
RATING OVERALL....: 8-9/10 (still not as good as super smash bros. brawl of course)
