"An Exciting Racing Game"

The Mario Kart series has always been known for its fun and addicting gameplay, even from the start with the original Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo. It certainly doesn't end with the newest entry in this phenomenal series! This game is probably the most innovative with the use of the Wii's motion sensor to actually drive the Karts and Bikes. This game even comes with a wheel to further improve on the gameplay experience. Any of you reading this and feel worried on how well it will work, don't be. It works flawlessly. But anyway, on with the review.

Gameplay
The gameplay experience in this game is phenomenal. It in my opinion is in the ranks with the Super Smash Bros. series. There are some problems though but not enough to make this game not worth playing. First of all, in the game you can get an assortment of items to help you win races or come back if you are far behind. But that in itself can be a problem. They give out the rarest items in this game like it's nothing. For instance, you can get a lightning bolt which shrinks everyone ahead of you if you are in last or near last in the race. Usually, it would be rare if you get hit by it even once during a race. But in this game, it is not unusual to get hit by it up to 3 times in a race. Another item is the Blue Koopa shell which hits whoever is in first. That item is given out so much that that one item can sometimes decide a race. You could be in first, your right at the finish line, and you get hit by it and then more items hit you and then you end in 5th or possibly lower. That can really make you frustrated when you are playing with people online and your VR (Points you get for your races) is at stake. But overall, this is a really fun game.

Controls
There are many control options for this game for those of you who don't like the idea of the Wii Wheel. You can use the Gamecube Controller which is what most veterans will use. You can use the Wii Classic Controller and of course, The Wii Remote and Nunchuck. So you will definitely find your preferred controller set-up. You'll just have to experiment a little.

Graphics
These are some really good graphics. The courses look elaborate with a lot of attention to detail. The character designs are wonderful. Everything looks amazing. This game really shows the Wii at its prime.

Sound/Music
The sound and music are fine. Some of the music in the courses are good and even catchy, especially Moo Moo Meadows. Some are just Ho-Hum. The sound that some of the characters make is different and add to the gameplay experience. Although, they do get a little annoying seeing as how they are re-used over and over with very little variety of other noises. There are some good sound effects though that make the game seem more realistic.

Play Time/Replayibility/Online
The single player mode really isn't that lengthy but it gets the job done. There is even a battle mode and the classic Time Trial Mode. The Real Play Time will take place online. You can rack up some serious play time online. It is addictive and the fact that you get points for races just gives you more incentive to just keep playing. You'll want to go for the max of 9999 VR (Points). There is also battle mode online to play for points too. As for the replayibility, you will want to keep racing and mastering all 32 of the courses in this game.

Conclusion
Anyone who owns a Wii MUST own this game. It is just a must-have hands down. Good-Luck getting it though, you will need it. At the time I am writing this review, it is nearly impossible to find this game. This game is a fun experience with lots of racing excitement. There are plenty of unlockables to get too for those of you who can't connect online. Drive safe and have fun! (Just kidding about that first part.)
