"Great Game, too much hype."

High Voltage Software's "The Conduit" has had a lot of mixed reviews. The game did not live up to the hype, but it is a great game, nonetheless. "The Conduit" delivers a good story mode, great control options, and intriguing online multiplayer.

Story

The story is pretty generic. Their is Government Conspiracy, Alien Invasion, Betrayal. This has been seen many times before. It will stay this was throughout the entire game, unless you pay attention to the side notes. There are many notes throughout the game that reveals a very deep story line. If you are willing to find what each note means, you will be deeply engrossed in the story.

Graphics

The graphics are pretty great. Amazing weapon and character design. It runs 30 FPS which can cause the game to run a little slow when there is a lot of action going on. The textures can be rather plain. Overall, this game shows one of the best graphically achievements on the wii.

Controls

The Controls are defiantly the best part of the game. You can completely customize them to fit your play style. If you want to change your jump button, you can do it. If you want to change your rotation speed, you can do that. After enough tinkering, you will have your controls exactly how you like them.

Single Player

Single player is not the best thing about the game. You move from room to room, killing waves of enemies. The ASE (All-Seeing Device) adds some puzzle solving, although they are usually very easy. With this said, single player is fun, and never seems to drag. It normally lasts 5-7 hours with 2-3 hours added if you collect the bonuses.

Online

Now we get to the best part if the game: Online. The multi-player is great. You can player with up to 12 players, play at a variety of maps, and play a variety of games. There are 3 major game types with 13 total sub-modes online. The 3 major game types are Free-For-All, Team Reaper, and Team Objective. There is also the option to customize your player, and edit your HUB. Online will freeze up and lag at times, but normally it runs great.

Overall

"The Conduit" is overall great. It has a very impressive Online, and the Story is very deep. Controls are simple, and can be totally customized. If you only own a wii and love FPSs, "The Conduit" is for you.
