This FAQ contains complete lists of many aspects of Arc Rise Fantasia. Though
it does not contain explicit plot spoilers, analysis of the data within can
indirectly spoil many different plot elements. This FAQ is guaranteed to be
spoiler-free up to the Missable List; new players are encouraged to copy that
section and refer to it to avoid missing anything.

because money is a joke in this game. If at any point you can't afford

2. Spoiler-free Missable List
===============================================================================
Dragon Prison
-Talos
This isn't a boss, but he must be defeated to spawn an optional boss later.
You can defeat him during your first or second visit, but you might as well do
it now.
Topazion Area (beach battle)
-Quad Force
This battle may surprise you, but it can be beaten without grinding as long as
you haven't been rushing. Gladius is your friend.
Galois Ravine
-Chimera Cape (occasionally dropped by Chimera boss)
Dragon Prison
-Murakumo (always dropped by optional Tartalos boss)
-Coat of the Heir (occasionally dropped by story boss during second visit)
-Armored Cane
All of these bosses are jerks, but the items they drop are worth it. Odd
that these are the only non-guaranteed boss drops, though. (And the only
missable optional boss.)
Gula Church Ruins
-Moonstone
-Force Support
Ruins of Hilbert
-Protector Horn (always dropped by boss, however, boss itself can be missed)
Flagship Percival
-The Chaser
-Iskandar (go back into the elevator)
Lascarde Skywalk (part of this area seals off; make sure you have these)

At one point in the plot, you are able to choose three of five Rogress.
However, two of those five have accessories associated with them that will be
missed if you do not choose them. You must win the beach battle, and then you
must visit the Ruins of Hilbert. The third Rogress is chosen from the Soliton
Caves, Ellgode Volcano and Zeifellt Holy Tower areas, and has no impact on
item collection. No matter what you choose, you will visit all of these areas
again.
Thankfully, though the game has a Steal command, there are no unique steals.
The majority of steal items are stat boosting items (either in battle or
permanent) and any gear that can be stolen can be bought later on.

Rogress quest
The beach battle is a very difficult fight that you don't have to win to
advance the plot, but beating it awards you with Rufunga, one of the better
Rogress. Soon afterwards, you begin the Rogress quest with your lightship,
and must choose between Banchu, Papirusagu, Urgula and Squill. Of these five,
you can collect three. I recommend Banchu and Rufunga because they have
missable accessories (and they are better equips than the other three). Any
of the others will make a good third, but Papirusagu might be the easiest
challenge. For both Papirusagu and Urgula, do not collect chests along the
way. It is possible to fail all of these Rogress challenges, leaving you
with just two Rogress until Verct Skywalk, where you receive all that you
have missed.
Stat bonus combination
When you equip more than one Rogress, their stat bonuses are combined and
averaged. If you equip Girtab, and then equip Allul, your stats will only go
up a little. Whereas if you equip Allul and then Girtab, your stats will
actually go down. (However, the result is the same either way.) Equipping
Simmah, Girtab and Allul has just about the same stat effect as equipping
Simmah alone. Therefore, do not concern yourself with the stat bonuses; the
resistance bonuses are much more significant.
I recommend Simmah, Allul and Rufunga for high stats and +2 resistances.
However, if you want to make use of Kudoan's huge LUK bonus, Simmah and Allul
pair nicely with it, and your stats will still be positive.

4. Weapon List
===============================================================================
All weapons are the same; it is their abilities that set them apart. You should
strive to collect and upgrade every weapon, as upgrading gives access to
movable abilities, allowing you to essentially create your own weapons.
WP gained in battle goes to your active party members' weapons, and as they
increase in level, their grids will open up, and locked Arm Force pieces will
become removable. All weapons (other than ultimate weapons) have at least one
permanently "locked" native piece that cannot be moved or removed, even when
leveled. All weapons also have a "secret" ability that is only active when the
weapon is 1) fully leveled and 2) completely full of ability blocks.
Weapons with good native and secret abilities will therefore be better starting
points than others. Also keep in mind that ability blocks cannot be rotated.
(Flameguarder's L3 WP requirement is not a typo. Or at least, not my typo.)

7. Magic List

Magic is learned by placing the orbs of the appropriate level next to each
other on each character's orb. To unlock combine magic, place two orbs of the
same level next to each other. Be careful not to put repelling element types
next to each other, however, or the usable magic level will go down (ie. Lv. 2
Wind and Earth orbs will allow only Lv. 1 magic). Arranging four elements on a
four slot orb will allow all levels of magic if done correctly.
Additionally, placing two Lv. 2 Fire orbs next to each other will allow the use
of Lv. 3 Fire magic. However, these Fire orbs will only allow Lv. 2 Dark
or Light magic (placing a Lv. 3 Wind or Earth orb next to them will not create
combine magic). Lv. 1 orbs cannot reach Lv. 4 this way.
Fire + Wind = Light
Wind + Water = Lightning
Water + Earth = Ice
Earth + Fire = Dark
Fire + Water = repulsion
Wind + Earth = repulsion
Supreme magic is activated by either triggering Boosted Magic or Supreme Magic
ability blocks, or syncing magic between two or more party members (or ray
crystals). Some supreme magic versions have additional effects; those not
listed simply do more damage or have longer lasting effects.

8. Magic Orb Upgrade Costs
===============================================================================
Your Orbs are where you place magic gems in order to use magic. Each character
has a certain amount of DP that can be spent on upgrading; the only way to
reclaim it is to reset your orb (20k Rico) and there is no way to increase
these values.
Characters tend to come with enhancements already made; there is no bonus or
penalty for keeping or resetting these orbs. In the beginning, you will want to
focus on Lv. 1 and 2 MP, but later on you will naturally want Lv. 3 or 4.
You need at least one slot before you can even place a magic gem, and you need
at least one MP for each level you want to use as well.
These upgrades also cost money as well as DP, but money is much less of a
concern.

10. Experience Table
===============================================================================
Characters gain full experience only from enemies that are their level or
higher. Once a character has gone past an enemy's level, the exp gained will be
reduced by 20% per level, to a maximum of 10. If a Lv. 10 enemy is worth 200 XP
and it is killed by a character at Lv. 12, that character will gain 128 XP.
Note that this is per enemy and rounds down.
As there are no enemies in the game higher than Lv. 75, it is probably
realistically impossible to get to Lv. 99. You're only halfway there at Lv. 79,
and by Lv. 85 you're gaining ~431 XP from the highest level monster available.
That's well over 11 000 of those monsters you'd need to kill... no thanks.
