"Online FPS's At Its Best!"

Onslaught is Hudson's first Person Shooter on Nintendo's Wiiware service and it is a good one to.

8.5/10 Game play: OK basically you have to shoot at these bugs that either come out of a hive or the ground. When you shoot the bugs when you are right in front of them you will get their blood on your visor which when it is on there for a while it will do damage to you so when you get it on you, you have to swipe the nunchuk to get the blood off but it happened to frequently and if your surround once you wipe it off more will get on you and it gets annoying after a while but it is not a major problem(Also you can reload your gun by waggling the Wii Remote). You start off with four different guns which you can access with the D-pad which I thought was great and during a match you can switch what button on the D-pad pulls out what gun which is really great because this way it is a lot easier to memorize where the guns are. In the Story Mode part of the game there are thirteen different missions that are all time based which some of them really didn't need a time limit but the time did not ruin the missions at all because most of them are fun to play over and over again. In the game you will either find upgrades for the guns you already have or you will unlock them by getting a good rank on certain missions but finding the guns is hard to do because they don't even tell you how to find them or that you can find different guns! The controls in this game are perfect !I only found one the BKD's (which are a vehicle that you can drive) control scheme to be a little bit confusing at first but once your good with it you won't notice it. Also online works perfectly! You and other players team up and try to beat the missions that you played in one player and at the end the winning person is the person with the most points. But there are a few problems, one is that it is just like single player and it does not feel any different and there is no voice chat (which would have been appreciated) so if you get a new person that doesn't know how to play you will fail the mission. But the run/shoot game play does get a little repetitive after a while though.

9/10 Graphics: The graphics are great for a Wii ware game (considering developers only have 42 mb to work with) but there are only 2 different level settings, an outside, and a cave. Also the enemies look great also and as you get further the enemies evolve and they get different looks.

6/10 Sound: The sound is all right but it doesn't sound very nice and that is really all I have to say about the sound.

6.5/10 Re playability: The only three things to do after you beat the main game are to get all of the guns, to play the missions, and beat all the difficulties.

Final Recommendation: This game is one of the best First Person Shooter on the Wii ware service but with some minor problems that barely ruin the game experience. So this game is a must download for hardcore FPS players but if you aren't Onslaught is a good game to introduce you to those types of games. Onslaught has a awesome story and fun (sometimes repetitive) game play so I rate Onslaught as 8.5/10
