"Cool challenges, and there's so many new features!"
New Super Mario Bros. Wii is one of the best 2D Mario games for the Wii. There's more features, items, characters, etc. than the DS version. You even get to play in 4-player mode! I'd recommend this game for 7 years old and up (6 years or younger won't understand it much (if not, I dunno...)). Even if you're an adult, you should play this game!
Eh, the story's okay. Anyway, it was the birthday of Princess Peach! I'd say she's between 20 or 30 (in 2009 since the game came out in that year). All of a sudden, the Koopalings (disguised as a cake) break in and kidnap Peach with a cake in front of Mario, Luigi, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad. Really? They kidnap Peach with a cake when they could've kidnapped her with some giant claw or something? Anyway, the Koopalings went on an airship and the Mario Bros. and the Toads go out of the castle and save her. Back in the castle, a Toad puts a box of Penguin Suits and Propeller Mushrooms in a cannon, and another Toad shoots those out. I bet that's what they do whenever they have a new item. Then, the player(s) go through 8 worlds and when they get up to the airship level of World 8 (8-Airship), the player(s) fight Bowser Jr. It's so easy. Next, he fights Bowser in 8-Castle, which was harder than the other bosses in the game. After that, Mario saves Peach, and outside the castle, Luigi and the Toads come from hot air balloons. Luigi lets Mario and Peach into his balloon, but the door closes and he misses. The Toads allow him to use their balloon, and then Peach asks Mario if she ever told him about the secret world (World 9). Then the credits roll plays (breakable blocks). After that, Bowser Jr. shows Larry that the other Koopalings are trying to pick Bowser up. They did, but they got squished. If the player(s) got all Star Coins, World 9 appears.
There was MANY new features in the game. One of them is playing as Luigi, Blue Toad, and Yellow Toad during the game (also during Coin Battle, which I never played before). Just ask a friend to play with you. You also get to bubble if you press A. It's a great way if you need help with something. Another one of them is the Mushroom Houses, which are about luck (except the Yellow ones). The Green Mushroom Houses give you 1-Ups, the Red ones let you play Power-Up Panels (kind of like in SMB3), and the Yellow ones give you Starman. You can also get them if you save a Toad from some level (known after you complete 1-3). The 3rd one is Yoshi. He has the same features from SMW, and he has the same voice. When he eats 5 fruits, he gives you a 1-Up. There's also new enemies (King Bill and other stuff), items, and Super Guide (which is kind of useless). There was a few challenges in some levels, but the game is just fine!
