On freezy flake galaxy, how do I get the "hidden star"?

I've looked at the faqs and they say that the star is past the first checkpoint in the icy slide, yet I can't find it. Please help, thank you.

That's where the first green star is. The hidden star is in the area just before the ice slide. Use fireballs or Rock Mario to destroy the snow trees near the frozen lake to find a green pipe. Enter the pipe and beat The Chimp's minigame to get the star.

Like Shadowlynk said, use Fire Mario to blow up the tree past that little patch of ice near the first checkpoint. Enter the revealed pipe, and proceed to complete the Chimp's minigame.

All I can say is, don't hit any of the spiked enemies, and you'll be fine. That star is as good as yours.
