I find that the easiest thing to do is to get a second player playing.

The 2nd player can actually stun the boomerang and hammer bros with the stun + spin that it can do.

You can also spin the hammers and boomerangs to make them dissappear.

The best hint I can give is for the part with the disappearing and flip platforms. The laser shooting guys are a real pain here, but you can make them not shoot at you! Just do backflips backwards through most of this area. For some reason, the laser shooting guys don't actually shoot their circle lasers when you backflip (glitch?)

It also really helps near the end if you have a cloud flower so your backflips go farther, and so you can just make some clouds near the star catapult.

Just about everything else is easy until you get to the very last area--just take your time here and kill most the hammer bros, especially the one near the boomerang bros., so that he can't hit you from behind.

When your on the first challange with yoshi and see an enemy in your way, don't be afraid to back track. It is the only way you can stay alive.
When your changind the blue tiles into yellow tiles never stop moving. Those little laser enemies will follow you everywhere you go.
When your fighting the hammer bros. at the end of the stage knock them out with your star bits. As for the bommerang bros. at the end you cannot focus on only one or else the others will just get you in the back.

Grind for as many lives as possible prior to attempting. Breathe, stay calm, and remember that Luigi has better Jumps than his shorter, older twin.

For the 3 Boomerang Bros. at the end, kill the 2 closest Hammer Bros. for breathing room then you can crouch and move (hold Z while still then use the Control Stick to move) to completely avoid the boomerangs. After the second boomerang throw, spin to hit the closest foe, crouch to avoid the boomerangs' return, then run and kick the enemy into oblivion while the others jump. Repeat until they are all dead, but don't get greedy and rush the third Boomerang Bro. as you may get a 'rang to the face.
