Fighting Demise advice?

I beat his servant dude-weapon thing person...And I went to fight Demise after I healed up. But that was pointless, since I wasted my fairies trying stay alive.
I beat down Demise til he summons a storm and used the lightning to charge his Anti-Master Sword and got lucky countering two electric slashes, getting a hit in before he charged his sword again. But the Shock Wave slash and electric sword he has are killing me. Anyone have great advice for countering and/or evading these attacks?

I scan every new enemy I come across and each Boss. And I can't use the Skyward Strike during this fight because Demise is using some magical power to prevent that from happening.

Forget the Goddess Shield, since I've got the Hylian Shield

I beat Demise. But I shall continue to accept more answers for Heroic Mode

Get both life medals equipped as well as your best shield (goddess or hylian) and pick up all of your empty bottles. If you have extra room, take a backup shield or two. If you haven't finished the horde battle yet, take a heart medal. Go fairy hunting either at a spring or by drawing the triforce on goddess walls. Make sure you have full hearts by sitting at the stool in the temple.

Be careful on your way down the sealed grounds, always using your sailcloth. Enter the portal.

I always use the shield bash for this battle, but there are two other strategies I'll mention:

A. Long but easy: Wait until Demise attacks by punch or sword, use a shield bash and slash away. He may block some attacks. Eventually he will recover and swing his sword at you. Quickly jump back. Repeat until he falls to the ground (28 hits). If your shield is about to break, jump back from his attacks unitl it is healed or you can use revitalizing potion.

B. Long but intermediate: Wait until Demise attacks, then dodge or jump to the side and slash away. You can alsi jump back and do the same thing. Try to aim your slashes carefully to avoid being blocked.

C. Quick but hard: Run up to Demise and spin attack, the hack away without and hesitation using vertical spin attacks as well. Jump back at the last second.

Part 2: Anyway, Demise will fall to the ground. But its not over yet: he will get up and summon lightning! The final battle you ahev always wanted!

A. Easy but medium length: Stay a good distance from Demise, keeping your sword raised at all times. Wait until the strike is charged, then unleash it on the demon, run up and hack away. If he shoots his own strike, jump to the side to dodge, still letting yours charge. If he runs at you use a shield bash and hit hin then and there.

B. Medium but long length: Run up to Demise and wave the bug net around, then quickly slash or use a spin attack. Only do this when his sword is not charged. Brings back memories of ganondorf and the empty bottle.

C. Quick but hard: Similar to the last part, run up when hus sword is not charged and slash away.

After about three hits with a skyward strike and slashes, he will fall the the ground and let you deliver a fatal blow. DO NOT TRY TO GIVE A FATAL BLOW! You will miss and he will hit you dealing a bit of damage. Just wait for him to get up. Repeat abd get him on the ground again. You can try a fatal blow now, but you will have to be extremely ready and quick. It never works for me. Wait a third time, the fatal blow to finsih him off. Watch the cutscene. Congrats on beating the game!

In hero mode Demise is hardly any more difficult as you are by now adept at dodging and shield bashes. Just remember those fairies if you mess up!

Block. Just block everything and strike when he is open. You will only get hit if you get too greety to get that one extra hit. Just play it safe.

I have a great stragtey for beating Demise. Gather 720 Ruppees, 3 Faron Grasshoppers, 6 Eldin Rollers, 9 Blessed Butterflies and 9 Starry Fireflies. Go to the Bazzar and buy 3 Guardian Potions and upgrade them. The new potion will make you invincible for 3 minutes. If you add the Potion Medal to this group, you can be invincible for 18 minutes which is more then enough.

Now for the fight itself. The one thing you don't do is use your shield. That does no good and just makes him attack you more. And unless you have the Hylian Shield, you will eventually mess up your timing and your shield will take damage. what you do is circle around him and when he swings his sword side jump out of the way and do a vertical spin attack. if his sword comes straight down you can get a hit in. if he attacks sideways you will get hit. one thing to know is that the potion will not make you immune to the stopping power of the lightning in his sword should he block your attack. keep this up and after a while he will be thrown on his back which is your chance to do a fatal blow. you must be quick on attacking otherwise he will get back up and you will have to continue fighting. howerver it will take less time to knock him down after the first time.

The time to use the potion is right after he charges with lightning. another thing you might want to do is find a goddess wall or go to the skyview spring and get a couple of faries for that first part of the fight just in case you need them. As a frame of refrence, i managed to beat him before the first potion wore off. and that was with having to knock him dow about 4 times. i really hope this helps you

It's possible to beat him pretty easy without sheild bashing once or using any potions. Here's what I did:

1st from: Back flip to avoid any attacks when he swings his sword, after that come in close and quickly slash left, shash right, then spin attack left and backflip out of the way. (if you and immedietely pull off a vertical spin attack right after the left spin attack you'll stun him and can get in some more strikes).

2nd from: Stay backing away from him and keep your sword up, hit him with a charged skyward strike every chance you get then lay into him when he's stunned.

I don't know if this woll be any help but if u show Demise your bug net he will stop attacking you and follow it with his eyes until you stop

Ok well first of all get some more faries and potions. Then get the Goddess Shield which is both sturdy and electric resistent (also it repairs itself). Then go back and keep shield bashing him until the storm clouds appear. Do the same thing and every now and then aim your sword to the sky to try to get a lightning strike into your sword. Wait for the right time to strike at him and slice the remote. Then slice him with your sword. He will fall once and you will try to do a special move to kill him. However, he will dodge and you will have to do it again. (NOTE: This will be extremly hard in Hero Mode. You will unlock Hero Mode after beating the game for the first time.)

For phase 1, just do your best to knock him down to get to Phase 2.

In phase 2, you can still not use Skyward Strikes, but they were replaced by another form of attack. If you are trying to prepare a Skyward Strike, (Raising your sword up) you will not get one, but a lighting bolt instead. Then you can shoot it at Demise to make it like a Skyward Strike. If it hits him, it stuns him for a few seconds. Beat the living crap out of him. Repeat until you knock him down. Then finish him off with the Ending Blow.

Two ways easy and hard target him and jump backwards (hard) or block with your sheild (easy) although the hard way is more effective. About defeating him when he starts using his paralyzing slash you will be able to use your skward slash again but rather than taking skyward position you have to hold your sword in the air until lighting strikes it then skyward slash him which will paralyze him rather than him. After that go and slash him and if you get good hits he'll fall to the ground giving you more time to hit him. After reapeating this process a few times you'll have to finish him with final blow quickly after you knock him down for the last time (if you don't do it quick enough you'll have to repeat the progress one more time to get another chance)

YOU NEED TO USE YOUR SHIELD!!!!!! You don't know how much a good shield is needed (he will most likely tear you and your shield to shreds if you don't have the Hylian shield). Whenever he starts to charge his "Skyward Strike" start charging yours. Yours actually charges faster than his, which isn't very helpful because usually the two will collide and cancel each other out. Not helpful. But what you want to do it is land a Skyward Strike on him. Whenever you charge yours, he will charge at you. Simple enough, cancel the charge by using a shield bash. Because the Strike charges so fast there is a good chance that the game will count it as charged so you can use it, and the shield bash will knock Demise back and stun him for a moment. Hit him with the SS, and since he is already right there, hitting him is easy. Repeat this until he gets knocked down. Now to win all you need to do is land a Fatal Blow. Don't try this the first time he is knocked down because he will get up almost immediately and if you miss the FB there is a good chance he can hit you right afterwards. Wait until at least the second time you knock him down to try it, and victory is yours once you make it.

Just hit his sword back with your shield jabs. Also, put your sword up in the lightning and you'll be able to skyward strike. Pick this one!
