How do you get on top of the sky tram car?

I've had absolutely no problem with playing Epic mickey until I have to get on top of the sky tram car in Tomorrow Square to get to a chest. I think it might be goofy's last limb! Please help!!

Around the center of Tomorrow city square, you have to thin the floor and you will find an underground passage. After painting 2 gear and spinning the main gear, it should get the sky tram to start moving, then you have to go up to the top area on the right side and it should come to you. If you die, your going to have to spin the gear again.
