SD Sadistic Gamers
Review by TheSAMMIES
"The premise will scare most people away. Anemic gameplay will scare away the rest."
Huge warning! This game is pornographic and all of the art is drawn in super deformed chibi style. If either of these concepts scare you away, you'll want to stay away from this game. I'm going to use the term lesbian bondage sex a lot in this review because it's a huge part of this game.
SD Sadistic Gamers is a game with an eye-catching name and a horrible premise. It's a visual novel mixed with a quiz game and your reward for getting questions right is advancing the storyline. This would be an okay idea if the story were simply about anything except super deformed, or chibi if you will, office girls performing lesbian bondage sex on each other. The whole story right there is going to alienate most of SD Sadistic Gamers' audience. There are going to only be so many people who like Japanese quiz games, lesbians, bondage, and are willing to put up with all of those things in creepy/cute chibi art. But hey, if you're into all of those things, those somewhat acquired tastes, then you can raise this games' score up to a nine because it will deliver on all of those things. The game's also pretty short, so if you're actually into quizes, lesbian bondage, and chibi art, then you might have to savor it while it lasts. Let's also hope you can read Japanese
Story- I couldn't read the story because all of it was in Japanese. The story is, however, completely illustrated in super-deformed cute art. You really don't need words to know what's going on. There are girls in an office and they have lots and lots of lesbian bondage sex. There is a framing device too, a girl at a computer telling you the story. She has very little to do with anything, just acting as a Crypt Keeper of sorts, if The Crypt Keeper told stories about lesbian bondage sex instead of horror. There are a few jokes in there too, and I'm sure there are more if I could read Japanese, but they aren't really funny enough to lend the already narrow scope of the story anything.
Graphics- As mentioned before, all of the art in drawn in a cute style. There's a certain horror to seeing chibi characters in graphic sexual situations. This kind of juxtaposition of cute and graphic sex is only really going to appeal to a very limited number of people. I am not one of the people that would enjoy such things, so there you go. If you do enjoy such things and are a part of that limited audience, then you will not be disappointed.
Gameplay- SD Sadistic Gamers is a kind of hybrid between visual novel and quiz. That means, you're going to be reading through lots of Japanese text, looking at pictures, and occasionally answer some questions. The visual novel aspect is done fairly well, but aren't good enough that they'll satisfy veterans of the genre. There are a lot of pictures that show what's going on and you can speed through text you've already read by hitting the return key. Visual novel fans may be disappointed at the lack of decisions to make. The story is completely linear and it is impossible to get a game over.
The quiz aspects are done in a way that mixes them with the visual novel aspects. Every so often, usually in the middle of the story, the game will ask you a question. It gives you a number of answers and you have to hit one of the number keys to choose your answer. Some of the questions have two parts, so you'll have to hit two keys, one after the other. There is no penalty for getting a question wrong. You can just speed right through the game and find the correct answers by process of elimination. Just keep going until the story continues. There is no losing or even the option to lose. SD Sadistic Gamers is a very forgiving quiz. You would think that the difficulty is sadistic, but it's actually quite the opposite.
SD Sadistic Gamers is also a very short game. It should take you less than thirty minutes to complete it and unless you're a huge fan of chibi lesbian bondage sex, then you'll probably just laugh at its stupid and terrible concept and never pick the game up again.
Uncool Fact- The darker skinned girl ends up being the slave. This is wrong on many levels.
Also Try- Night Slave on the PC 98. It may have graphic lesbian bondage sex in it, but there's a decent giant robot platformer attached to it.
