Red Faction II

"Best Multiplayer EVER!!!"
You play as Alias, a demolitions expert and a former hero. You're part of a six-man/woman team on the run from the Commonwealth because you were part of an experiment to create super-soldiers with nano-technology. The Commonwealth wants you dead. Your mission is to kill Chancellor Sopot, the leader of the Commonwealth.
This has got to be one of the best FPS multi-player games ever. The matches never get boring, and the levels never seem to get old. The best part of multi-player though is the ability to create and save your own bots with upgradeable stats. This makes the multi-player mode much more fun, and you can actually have bots that are dangerous. Big kudos to the developers for this feature. You have the same standard weapons at your disposal (pistol, rocket launcher, assault rifle, etc.) but surprisingly they feel original and fresh. The controls are absolutely perfect. The single-player on the other hand is fun, but ultimately feels like the same run of the mill FPS you've played many times before. The missions are easy to follow and you never get lost, plus they look pretty good. The missions are kind of hard, but a novice player should be able to beat them the first time through in a snap. I also like how there is bonus objectives that unlock extra content. This was a very good idea. In summary, multi-player is simply amazing and the single player game is just above average.
The story is nothing special, but it suffices for a FPS. It is pretty straightforward with a few very good plot twists that make the game very exciting. It's a shame though because with a game called Red Faction you don't actually play as the Red Faction. That's weird, don't you say? Still, I have no major gripes with the story, even if it isn't a Oscar level plot.
I think the graphics were very good in this game. There were no obvious graphical glitches I saw, which is very good for a FPS. I only saw one minor glitch however. In multi-player mode you can be walking around and all of a sudden a gun with no one behind it will star firing (it can't hurt you) and then it will just disappear. It's actually funny when you first see it. The sound was very good, the guns sounded menacing and the voice acting was spot on. The developers did very well in this department.
The single-player mode is replayable if you want to unlock all the extra content. If you don't however, you can play it once through and be fulfilled. The multi-player though you can replay for hours and hours. It seems to almost never get old. It's like being addicted to Pac-Man, you play non-stop for about 3 hours, repeat this for about a month, and then finally the game gets old. The multi-player is awesome.
You should run out to the store of your choice and buy this game immediately. Not only is it fun and addicting, but also it's relatively cheap (about $30 CAN). This is the best FPS on the Xbox for multi-player; and it has a pretty good single player game.
