"Doom 3 is just for thee?"

First and foremost, Doom fanboys, go away, I know you already hate me for giving it a seven, but just wait.

*spoilers*

Doom 3 is the 'story' of a lone Marine sent to Mars in 2145, to, well, just hang around I suppose. But when he gets to Mars, he finds a terrible and Dark secret about Hell spawn unleashed on Mars, supposedly the second time. So, when he finds out what caused this, it was good ol' Doctor Betruger, (whom, I think is the devil himself, but reject that theory at the end cutscene) and his teleportal device, and some form of dark magic.

As in ALL Doom games, you battle demons of all shapes and sizes, and travel through many, many doors to be awoken by a screaming Imp, or dumb zombie fat guy, oh, that reminds me, Fat Zombies are BACK, and fatter than ever!

But onto the actual review.

Graphics: 11/10What can you say about Doom 3's graphics?
I can only think of one: Amazing. Thats right, simply amazing, astounding, excellently awesome, Doom 3's graphics, are by far, the best I've ever seen on Xbox, there is absolutely, NO FRAME LAG, in this game! No matter how much blood you spill, its at a constant 60 FPS!

Texturing on every thing is awesome, I even like the door control panels. The last boss looks incredible with this high level of detail.

Story: 9/10 I appreciate the whole Mars setting, and demon blasting, only because I am a Sci-Fi fan, a rather big one, and if a story dosent appeal to me, then I drop the game/book/movie like a hot potato. But not with Doom 3! I absolutely LOVE the story in Doom 3, its like it right out of a good sci-fi novel. The action/horror combined makes a great story that I will remember till I'm dead, I will always remember the lone Marine on Mars, far better than remembering the Master Chief or Gordon Freeman.

Gameplay: 8/10 Not much to say here, basic shooting elements, combined with fantastic weapons to choose from: Doom Shotgun, BFG-9000, chaingun, pistol, flashlight, RL, *?Soul Cube?*. Lets face it, the gameplay in Doom 3 or in any other Doom game is simplistic, shoot zombie-demons first, ask questions later. The horror element does give the game some pros, rather than cons.

Sound: 6/10 Bang, bang, bang. Aaaarggh! Go to hell!
Those are three most common sounds in Doom 3. Guns sound like pea shooters, save the BFG-9000 and *?Soul Cube?*. And the Zombies make the same noises everytime, voice acting is ok, at least I recognized one voice actor, and that was Counselor Swann (voiced Davik and the TSF officer in KotOR I, II), but all the other voices sounded, muddy, and not that good, Doctor Betruger even sounded like the G-Man from Half-Life 2! Well, at least the demons had some different war and death cries.

Replay Value: 5/10 (Regular Doom 3) 8/10 (CE Doom 3)
If you have the Collectors Edition Doom 3, then chances are, you will have more fun playing Doom 3 than I did, Doom 3, by itself, has little to no replay value, but Doom 1 and 2 have some replay value, and its still fun to play DM with your old friends. Doom 3, once you beat it, thats it, except, maybe you should play it again on Nightmare mode.

Rent or Buy?

Rent it if you are a novice to the Doom series, (like me), but Buy it, if you are going to get the CE, and are a veteran to the Doom franchise.
