Conker: Live & Reloaded
Review by americanimafan
"Very, very hilarious."
This game is quite possibly the most hilarious game I have ever played in my life. It has so much humor. It's just great. But, anyway... the history of the game. This is a remake of a nintendo 64 game entitled Conker's Bad Fur Day. It did pretty good, although, I've never played it. This game has greatly refined graphics, some minor changes to the actual gameplay, and a completely different multiplayer. It isn't much different, yet, somehow, much better.
The graphics are very good. Well done for the system. There really isn't much to say about them, but, in many people's minds, better graphics equals better humor, and I guess I agree with that as well. All the characters were done well. It makes the adulterated content so much sweeter. Conker looks so... nice, and furry. And his alchohal looks so... drinkable. These graphics are slightly better than your run-of-the-mill Xbox game. The envirement is very lush and colorful. It was a very well done job.
The gameplay is pretty simple. You simply pull out your bat, swing, and hit something. Then you jump a whole bunch, too, I guess. But every platformer is like that. Some parts were fairly challenging, I suppose. They could have just been a little annoying. I can never tell the difference between difficult or annoying. There is also the occasion where you stand on a pad and press the appropriate button to activate it. This will give you whatever you need at that given time. It usually ends in hilarious results. The gameplay was overall great. If you are into platformers, that is. I suppose some gamers would think differently. The music in this game was pretty good, too. It was very querky. It fit into the whole atmosphere of the game very well.
The plot was... interesting. Bah, it wasn't interesting, it was funny. Very funny. It starts of with Conker drunk and getting lost. Than, a few twists and turns are made, and, well, you don't really know that your trying to do. The point is to get back to your home, but, really, you just go to seemingly random places and get cash, then move on to another weird, wacky area. This game has loads of funny things from bees with cigars to caveman on hover boards. I pratically laughed hard enough to cry when I got to the Great Mighty Poo boss. It was insanely hilarious to have a giant talking piece of poo that sings. Now, THAT, was an interesting battle. But, this game, without a doubt, has the biggest surprise ending ever. I don't think anyone will be able to predict the outcome. It was actually sad! AND, it actually had something that you could call a moral! A moral! In a comedic game!
Now, for the multiplayer. It is really fun. I mean, you might not be into third-person shooters, but this game pulled it off very well. Plus, it's online. It makes things fun. This has the typical capture, death match, and capture the flag battles. But who cares if it's in most other shooters? It is always fun. I played online... I was rather bad and was called noob, alot. So, I quite. I reccomend not playing online unless you have decent skills. You can play these missions by yourself, too. And, with the different difficulty settings, this is pratically a game in itself. The missions, too, have good humor. Some of the mission's concepts sort of go along with the normal plot, but, not really. You mostly play these just to play them.
Overall, this game is just utterly divine, in my eyes. It was of a very reasonable length for a platformer. I was, however, sad when it came to an end. Some people might complain about the length, though, but I don't. It was a great game with great graphics, great platform gameplay, and of course, the great, unmatched humor. That is why this game deserves a perfect score.
