"This is Truely a Battleground"

This game came from the popular card game Magic the Gathering, from Wizards of the Coast. I actually played the card game in the late 90 's. It was a fun game then, don't know about now. A lot of people say they ran out of ideas and sub-sets. I liked it then and its concept of the game. The video game is pretty much similar to it and the spells it has. Believe it or not, these are not new spells but old ones. Basically they based this game from the older spells from the 90 's instead of the new spells now. If you like playing the card game, or used to like it, you should like the video game.

Playing this game is simple, putting together the strategy, now thats hard. The game goes as fallows, their are two wizards battling, and casting spells against each other. The object is to beat the other wizard, before time runs out or he loses his hit points which ever one comes first. You have five different magics to work with. You can pick one, or combine two if you like. You have summon spells or you can direct spells to your enemy wizard. You need manna to play these spells, so yes manna is important, use it wisely. This just about covers most likely everything. One thing about this game is, if you play by yourself, you will get bored. This game is meant for competition against you and someone else. On line, this game has a very high rating. But sadly off line it is kind of low. So it depends on how you look at it. One very good thing about on line, you can down load new spells and store it on your Xbox, which is very cool.

The graphics and the animated fighting scenes are awesome! If anybody out there remembers Battle Chess, its pretty much the same concept. But these graphics are 100 times better. One piece blocks, the other attacks, they fight, and then the stronger one wins. Simple as that. They are so much fun to watch fight. They spend a lot of time with the detail and fighting scenes with this game. I'm glad they did, cause it tells a lot about how much the company cares. Then again Wizards of the Coast is a giant among company names. The sound and special effects are great too. The fighting sounds this game makes are like in a true battlefield. You can't complain about that.

There are so many good things about this game, and so many hours of play time its unreal. But like I said before it depends on what you are doing with this game. Solo its not much to brag about, but with 2 player mode, its awesome. And on line is even better. There are so many players willing to play this on line most of the time which makes you wonder where they all come from. So you can decide if this game is right for you based on what you like to do. If you an Xbox Live person, great, otherwise, this game is not going to hit a home run for you.
