"Sam returns and it's even better!!"
Sam Fisher is back with Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow. His first outing was a great stealth game passing many others. But how much has improved on his return.
The engine is the same but the graphics are above the previous game. There are beautiful areas full of tall grass, shacks of wood. The detail is quite phenomenal and really make you feel you are there. The multiplayer graphics are better than the main game which is, unusual. I do not fully understand this. But overall a great looking game.
The music has been greatly improved with many different beats for the different areas. When you are discovered the music easily changes to alert and sets your heart pounding as you run to escape. The sound effects are also very well done, with the smash of bottles and the sound of gun fire ringing in your ear, you are in for a real treat if you have Dolby surround.
This is the core of the game and it is amazing. The game is broken down into two parts really. The single player and multiplayer both play quite alot differently. The single player requires the use of stealth skills and combining them. There are some really innovative moments, for example one time you are stuck in a storm with a ton of rain and when you think your hidden away suddenly lightening strikes and shows you up. But the game does require patience and planning, not for everyone. The multiplayer is also incredibly fun with 4 people playing as either spies or mercenaries. It is exciting and requires great timing. This is great for testing out your reflexes as people are not as predictable as AI. The level design feels more complete in the multiplayer but there are more challenges in the main game. This is an interesting balance and it is also good how they mix the multiplayer in with the main story. The ways of this game are truly groundbreaking.
Long term: 22/25
The actual length of the game is good and will keep you going long enough, especially if you have Xbox Live or a couple of other XBoxes to hook upto. This can really vary for different people. But to me this game is as long as I want it.
(+ 5 pts reviewers tilt)
Overall: 95/100 (10/10)
+ Excellent stealth gameplay

+ Jaw dropping graphics
- Requires patience
- Feel left out without Xbox Live
- Too short?
A great, great GREAT game! You will not regret getting this game. Buy some for yourself and your friends.
