1. Introduction
******************************************************************************
I am MysticWeirdo also known by my real name Warren Grieder.

"Welcome to Stunt Track Challenge, coming to you live from high above Hot
Wheels Stadium. There are six shows each one packed with super high speed
races, crazy death defying stunts, and cool metal crunching crashes. Each show
features a series of challenges and races. Finish third or better and you
move on, and don't forget, winn all six shows and take home the ultimate
prize. Get ready to play stunt track challenge."

So states the opening movie of Hot Wheels Stunt track challenge for the Xbox.
While the PC and PS2 also have versions of this game, this guide will focus on
the XBOX version only. Mileage may vary with the other versions.

Hot Wheel Stunt Track Challenge is game in which you can races and perform
stunt challenges using vehicles from Mattel's Hot Wheels line of toy cars.

The game features supple for multiplayer, either through a system link with
multiple networked Xboxes, or versus mode on the same Xbox. Both of these are
beyond the scope of this guide.

The game claims to have 30 different hotwheels cars. However, only 22 of
these are named, 16 of which can be used in races, the other 6 in stunt
challenges. The remain 8 are unnamed and only appear in the game breaks.

only use it when necessary.

When using boost tap A to use up one pickup, or hold A for a longer burn.
The boost will end if you hit something so be careful.

The bicycle manuever can be used to turn corners more easily.

******************************************************************************

====================
5.1 Stunt Challenges
====================

One of the six Challenge category cars will be chosen for you in the stunt

hitting targets, time remaining, successfully landing spins and flips,

three lap race. (Other settings are possible in Arcard and multiplayer modes.)

Fives of the decal pairs for each stage are unlocked in the each game break: 3

pickups

breaking to get first.

Turn right and go up the ramp. Turn right and smash the crate and go up the
next ramp. Repeat for three more crates and ramps.

Turn right through the checkpoint and ride the zip strip ahead. Go from left

6.3.8 Monster of the Deep
-------------------------

Game Type: Race
Number of Laps: 3

Description: Race against the other contestants. Get up on the wall ride or
you'll get left behind!

Strategy: Go ahead from the start avoidig the bombs and get on the zip strip
on the right wall . Ride it around a turn to the left, getting the flames on
the strip in the process.

On later laps you may want to boost before you do a stunt off the ramp after
the turn to earn some boost. Get to the right side of the track to get
through and s-turn to the right. Power slide right into a corkscrew. You
might consider using boost through the corkscrew.

Powerslide right at the end of the corkscrew and then turn left.

This is a good spot to boost as you go straight through a checkpoint and off a
jump where you should do another stunt to replenish your boost.

If you were boosting on the jump you'll land to the slightly shorter upper
path where you'll need to power slide left and then power slide right avoiding
the rumbles strips on the outside of the turns. Get the flames on the right
and take a slight left turn to where the paths merges.

(If you didn't boost on the jump you'll be on the lower path. Power slide
left and then power slide right . Get the flames on the right and power slide
left to where the paths merges.)

This is a good spot to boost as the path goes into a tunnel. Get some flames
on the right. Powerslide left and right avoiding the rumble strip and cross
the finish line.

Complete two more laps to finish the race.

either fork and follow it. For the left fork you'll need to powerslide right,
powerslide left, and turn right to the merge point. (The turns on the right
fork go in the opposite directions.)

The merge point is a good spot to boost from on later laps as into goes into a
jump. Do a stunt for more boost as you land on a vertical zip strip.

The zip strip is also a good spot to boost from. After a straight stretch,
power slide left, get the flames in the center if you can, and powerslide
right throug a short corkscrew. Avoid the first set of bombs by going right,
and the second set of bombs by keeping to the middle of the corkscrew.

Power slide left and then powerslide right after the corkscrew. Get the
trigger in the center, if one of your opponents hasn't already done so, to
take the shortcut to the left, going between the bombs and powersliding left
to the merge point. (If the shortcut is closed you'll need to take the right
path and powerslide left to the merge point.)

This merge point is also a good spot to boost from as you go up a jump. Do a
stunt to earn more boost as you land on a vertical zip strip. This zip strip
is a good spot to boost from as you go through a loop into a tunnel.

Try to get some flames on the right before you powerslide to the left. Use
boost to in the turn to recover faster. Try to get the flame to the left at
the end on the turn. You can boost here as you turn right to the finish line.

another target.

Make a judgment call as to whether its better to go through the blue target on
the right or the left base on the positions of the statue (if you can see the

Description: Race against the other contestants. Go for the shortcuts, but
watch those bumps.

Strategy: Make a slight left after the opening straightaway. Take the zip
strip on the left wall around the turn to the left. (There's a trigger on the
bottom here that opens a short cut, one of the other cars will open it on the
first lap, and you'll miss out of the zip strip if you go for it on subsequent
laps)

If the shortcut to the left is open, go between the bombs onto the zip strip
inside and turn left to where it merges with the other path. (If you take the
other path, do a power slide to the left to get to the merge point.)

Turn left, powerslide right avoiding the rumble strips, and then powerslide
left avoiding more rumble strips.

This is a good spot to boost in later laps as you go into a jump (boosted
vehicles may hit a trigger.)

Go straight and powerslide to the right through a checkpoint. If you or an
opponent bossted throught the trigger on the previous jump go straing along a
zip strip avoid the bombs. Otherwise turn right and take the next left to
merge with the short cut.

After a slight left go straight (ignore the flames on the longer right path)
and avoid the bombs. Powerslide left as you enter the tunnel.

This is a good spot to boost as you jump of the ramp and do a stunt to earn
boost. Avoid the bombs and get the flames on this bumpy straightaway.

Powerslide left and then powerslide right. This is a good spot to boost as you
make a slight left on the way to the finish line.

Game Type: Race
Number of Laps: 3

Description:Race against the other contestants. Ride the central Zip strip to
stay ahead.

Strategy: Start stright and ride the zip strip in the center around the turn
to the right, powersliding to stay on. Get the flames to either the left or
right and get back on the strip to avoid the bombs. Ride it around another
right turn, powersliding to stay on and get the flames on the right side of
the zip strip at the end of the turn.

You may want to boost here as the zip strip end in a straight section. Adjust
your course slightly to the left as you go down a series of bumps, before you
cross a checkpoint at the beginning of a halfpipe.

Get the flames from the left wall in the turn to the right and crossover to
the zip strip on the right wall. Ride the strip around a turn to the left.
Cross over to the zip strip on the left wall and ride tit around the turn to

Adjust your cours slighty right as you go down another series of bumps. Ride
the center zip strip around a right turn, powersliding to stay on and get the
flams on the right.

Dodge the bomb on the zip strip by going right or left and ride the zip strip
a bit more. Dodge the next bomb to the RIGHT and get the flames as you go
back on the zip strip for a slight left turn. (The turn is a lot harder to
pull of if you dodge the last bomb to the left and go for the flames.)

This is a good spot to boost as you head to the finish.

Do two more laps to complete the race.

If you want to win you'll need to use the boost in areas like the zip strips
on the halfpipe walls and the stright sections of the central zip strips.
