Game: Asura's Wrath

System(s): Xbox360, Playstation 3

Author: Andrea Castillo aka Ice Queen Zero/Azul Fria

Introduction

March turned out to be a drag for me. I barely didn't get any work down. Now that I'm eating for two (due late July/early August), it's hard to get any motivation or any urge to do any guides. April, I decided to get a fresh start with Asura's Wrath which I found pretty impressive. It involves a lot of RTE scenarios to keep your reflexes sharp.

Walkthrough

There are 18 levels (19 if you include the True 18th episode for the True Ending). For nowm I'm playing this on Easy mode so strategies may change on higher difficulties.

Part 1: Suffering

Episode 1: The Coming of a New Dawn

As you descend towards the earth, you will learn the Lock-on Fire and then the Rapid Fire. Press the trigger buttons to grab the Gohma Lasher then pull both thumbsticks down to throw it back at the other Gohma Lasher. Ghoma Carriers will rise. Continue to shoot until prompted to press the melee button to grab onto another Ghoma Lasher and rotation the Left Thumbstick to throw it at the Ghoma Carrier. After the cutscene, continue to fire until prompted to till the left thumbstick to the left. The other guardiands will be shown fighting in battle. You are then prompted to mash the Melee button until you burst through the Gohma Lasher. Then after firing a few more rounds. You will be prompted to press the burst button. Continue hitting the Melee button to increase the effectiveness. You earn a Trophy/AP for this. Thr Brahmastra is then fired and unearths Gohma Vlitra which does severe damage to the earth.

When play resumes, just keep shooting till prompted to tilt both thumbsticks inwards (Left one to the right and right one to the left) to grab the Gohma Carrier. Yasha comes in and saves you. Tilt the left thumbstick as indicated and Asura and Yasha get hit but get saved by Mithra. Tilt both thumbsticks outwards to grow extra limbs then tilt them both up then out to unleash the six-armed Vijra Asura. Tilt the left thumbstick as indicated to avoid the first attack of the Ghoma Vlitra then start firing at it and hit the Dodge button along with a direction to avoid attacks in that direction. When prompted, hit the Burst button then get ready to hit the Lock-on Fire button at the right moment to land to good punches on it and the battle is over.

Episode 2: Betrayal and Vengeance

The Emperor has just been murdered and Asura has been blamed for it. Wyzen will send Dojis to take you on. Follow the onscreen instructions to fight them until a cutscene appears. The Dojis will dogpile Asura. Tilt the thumbsticks outwards to blow them all away. Mithra and Durga are in danger as Sergei appears. You, on the other hand, face off against Wyzen. Continue to attack him then press the Dodge button when prompted to recover. You may take a few hits. When Wyzen is knocked down, press the indicated button to finish him off for now. Durga is killed and Mithra is kidnapped. Deus is the one who killed the Emperor. Asura is then subdued by him and cast out onto earth.

Episode 3: Hell on Gaea

Asura clings to a tower in Naraka and meets a golden spider. Tilt the left thumbstick up to climb the tower. Asura has a flashback and is told to defeat some Gohmas Howlers. You learn the basics of continuous attacks and heavy attacks. The latter makes Asura overheat and they can't be used during overheat. You will also learn the Dash Attack, Dive Attack, and Special Attack. The Gohma Howlers die. You face another Gohma Howler only its bigger. You learn how to recover from being hit. Next you learn to counter attacks. Press the right button before being hit to counter the attack. Do this twice and it dies. Use the Rapid Fire button to take out the Gohma Stingers after learning to lock on them first and switch targets. You next lesson is shooting down rocks. Hold the Rapid Fire button and use the left thumbstick to move the rectile to shoot them down.

Now you face Augus himself. Knock him down with a heavy attack then use rapid fire on him while he is down to increase the Unlimited Gauge. Once filled, Asura's power increases and it prevents you from overheating. Next thing you do is fill the Burst Gauge then use it. Time the sync attack three times and training ends. Concentrate on the flying enemies first then take on the ground ones. Fill up the burst gauge then use it to end the battle. Tilt the left thumbstick up then once prompted again, tilt both thumbsticks outward.

Episode 4: Old Friends, New Enemies

Upon starting this level, head left and go down some steps to take on Gohma Howlers that are threatening the people. Keep fighting them until the Septintrion arrives and the people come to worship it. Rasho the Purification Troop Captain shows up along with some Doji and challenges Asura to a fight. Defeat the Doji and Gohma Howlers then use counterattacks on Rasho when possible. Otherwise, jump away from his swipes and attack him when his guard is down. The object is to fill your Burst Gauge to the max and finish him off with a well-timed hit.

Taison shows up. Tilt the left thumbstick to the left to avoid his arrival stomp. Taison has a devastating charge attack and loves to use it. He also like to use leaping smash attacks. The best time to attack him is when he misses the latter as he will be down for a quick second. You can also counterattack that same attack to for even more damage and they are super easy to pull off against this guy so get in close and start using melee attacks on this guy and he will eventually take to sky and be on the receiving end of a counterattack and when he's down, use a special attack when in unlimited mode. Rapid Fire shots are useless in this fight so don't bother with that. As with Rasho, fill your Burst Gauge to the max and finish him off with a Burst attack.

A Gohma Crusher arrives and sucks the souls out of innocent people but is defeated by none other than, Wyzen himself and the souls are collected into his shield. You can let Wyzen talk on but for the Shut up Wyzen Trophy/AP, press the melee button to knock him down while he talks. Use your Rapid Fire as you avoid Wyzen's lightning and stomp attacks. Use the counterattacks to catch his fist projectiles and throw it back at him. This will knock him down. Use this time to add to your Burst Gauge because when you land the Burst then this fight is over. Just use the synchro attack, then tilt the left thumbstick to the left and do another synchro and Wyzen goes off the cliff. Thus we've come to end of Round 2. And it's Asura 2, Wyzen 0.

Uh Oh! Spoke to soon. Vajra Wyzen is now here and he is big as a mountain. Another fight is about the start but the Episode ends right there just as it begins.

Episode 5: Hollow Victory

Round 3 is about to start. Vajra Wyzen has just thrown down Asura and it's up to you to tilt the left thumbstick to the right. Asura runs at Vajra Wyzen, this is just like the space battle at the beginning of the game. Use Lock-on Fire to shoot at the targets on him then when close, tilt the left thumbstick up to avoid the fist smash with a jump into the sky. Press the dodge button when prompted quickly. Better yet, keep mashing the button and you don't have to worry about the prompt. If he catches you, he will throw you back and you play the running sequence again. If you dodge all four times, Asura takes to the sky. Tilt the left thumbstick down to do a falling sequence the same as the space one. When the Burst meter is full, use it then do two synchros. Asura is pounded in the dirt. If you missed the opportunity to shut Wyzen up the first time for the trophy/AP, you can do it here too. Asura catches the first. Keep mashing the melee button to fill it up to the maximum burst and use it to go into Vajra mode and get the Six-Armed Man trophy/AP.

That coward Wyzen sends Doji and ships after Asura. Rapid Fire the ships and fight the Doji. USe the Heavy Attack button to counter the missile and throw some of them back at the ship. Use the Burst to destroy the ship. Tilt the left joystick to the left and you and Wyzen will run to the side. Aim your lock-on fire at the targets on Wyzen then use counterattack on his missiles to throw them back at him. Use the dodge to avoid the lightning. When you can, use the Burst to engage Wyzen in a showdown. Do a synchro then rotate the left thumbstick and do another synchro to knock him back. When you catch his fist, press the melee button rapidly and use a Burst. Hit the melee button rapidly again then end it with a synchro to send Wyzen flying. The winner and still champ, Asura.

This dude will not give up, won't he? You now face Gongen Wyzen and he is even bigger. Tilt the right thumbstick down and the left thumbstick down. Notice how Asura did a little Sumo stance. Tilt both thumbsticks outward then up. After the flashback, rapidly hit the melee button until prompted to till the thumbsticks up. Rapidly press the melee button. It proves to be useless so when prompted, rotate the left thumbstick until the Burst Gauge fills up and use the Burst. Use a synchro and down goes Wyzen for good. He wasn't wise enough to know that no one beats Asura.

Episode 6: Confessions of a Mask

This is a short episode. Yasha appears and challenges Asura to a fight. Tilt the thumbsticks up to get up and Asura has lost his arms. Use jumping melee attacks to fight Yasha as you avoid his attacks. You may take some damage but use the Recover to regroup. When he is knocked down. Use special attacks. Get the Burst Gauge to max and use it to do some useless synchro that still add to your count for the synchro trophy/APs. Tilt to the left joystick to the right then up. Use another useless synchro to land a kick that does nothing to Yasha whom knocks you aside. The next round, Yasha adds blades to his arsenal, work to get your Burst Gauge back up and use it again and the synchros are still uselss on him fightwise. As Asura and Yasha speak, the Burst Gauge fills up on its own. Use the Burst once more to do a raging headbutt. The same move Goku beat Piccolo with at the end of the original Dragonball. Yasha's mask is broken off. Alas, Asura is struck down once more. This time by his own brother-in-law.

Part 2: Rebirth

Episode 7: A Father's Duty

Asura is back at Naraka and meets up with the golden spider again. Tilt the left thumbstick up to climb. You get another flashback and fight some Gohma Howlers. Take them out like you have time and time again by filling the Burst Gauge to max and using it. You now fight a Gohma Crusher. Tilt the left joystick down to avoid its initial stomp. When the fight starts, shoot at it from afar and jump up when it stomps the ground because the shockwave will hit you if you stay grounded. When it stomps, its foot is vulnerable for some melee attacks and special attacks. Ocassionally, the Gohma Crusher will shoot fireballs into the air. Keep running around to avoid getting hit. When you use Burst on it, use the synchro to break a tusk. Tilt the left thumbstick down to avoid its stomp or you are dead.

Avoid being flattend by its truck. When it misses the second swipe, it will be still momentarily. Use that time to attack the trunk with melee and special attacks. When the Gohma Crusher jumps back, get ready to dodge a sweeping laser beam it fires along the ground or it will come charging in. Press the indicated button to counter it. When you use Burst again, follow the prompts of left thumbstick down, dodge button, both thumbsticks right. Augus will finish the critter off. Use the synchro to execute a punch at Augus that is blocked by Yasha. At the end of the flashback, tilt the left thumbstick up to run up the column and the level ends as it looks like Asura is revived.

Episode 8: Willing Sacrifices

Tilt the thumbsticks outward to break free from the rock. Defeat the Gohma Howlers. Chase after the big one running with the girl and baby and rapid fire on it. Use melee attacks when close. Use Burst to finish it off with a synchro. Use another synchro to rescue the girl and baby. A Gohma Squasher arrives. Aim your shots at the Gohma Squasher's head as you avoid its fireballs which a red circle indicates where one will land. Use this time to use melee attacks on its head. Another alternate strategy to get on the side of it or behind it to unleash a lot of melee strikes to knock it down and use a special attack or maybe a counter attack. It will usually only spin around or try to stomp you if you use the latter strategy. The spin will knock you back. Once you use Burst, use three syhcros to finish it off.

The people are grateful for Asura defeating the monster. A ship arrives and a hologram of Kalrow appears along with some Doji. Press the button shown, then do a synchro to attack the hologram. Use another synchro to rescue the girl from being hit by a Taison and tilt the left thumbstick right and another synchro to hit it again. Defeat the Taison and Doji and then press the melee button when prompted to punch the Doji in the face twice. Tilt the left thumbstick up to grab the girl's hand and the episode comes to an end.

Episode 9: The Best Laid Plans

Tilt the left joystick to the right and use a synchro to launch into the air. Keep shooting at the airships until a big one shows. Shoot at that one until you can use Burst. When you do, tilt the thumbsticks in then out when prompted. Use a synchro to enter the ship. Once the cutscene ends. Shoot at the ship and use the counterattack to toss the missiles away and use Burst when filled up. Use a synchro to jettison off a ship and towards Kalrow. A klaser is fired but does no damage to Asura which shocks Kalrow. He sends some Doji and a Taison that shoots a big energy orb that homes in on you a little and shoots missiles that rain down. The best strategy is to get behind it and use melee attacks and then when it's knocked down, you can finish it off with a special attack instead of using a Burst. Walk up to the door and use the Heavy Attack button to break it. Defeat a series of guards in the next two rooms and smash another door. You now face a Taison Nyudo.

Shoot at the Taison Nyudo to get your Burst Gauge to max. While you are doing that, shoot the Doji in the air as well as jump to avoid the sweeping laser on the Taison Nyudo shoots. If you see it, shoot into the air get ready to dodge a napalm blast. When you use Burst, use a synchro to finish it off. You fight a Taison again and some Doji with shields that blocks fire and can absorb melee attacks. They use stomp attacks that can be countered. The Doji keep coming till you use Burst on the door. Defeat all the Doji on the elevator then use Burst on the Taison. Use a synchro then hit the dodge button and rapidly press the melee button to drag it up the elevator shaft and one more synchro to enter the cockpit. Interrupt Kalrow's speech and he tries to escape. Press the Dodge button then tilt the thumbsticks inward three times then rapidly press the melee button and finish of Kalrow with a Burst. Two deities down, five to go. Master Augus arrives and will be next in line to try his hand against Asura.

Episode 10: Words of Wisdom

Augus and Asura relax at the hot springs. Tilt the left thumbstick up to look away from the woman's boobs then you can press Melee to Drink, Heavy Attack to Chug, Fire to Splash, Dodge to Stand Up and expose Asura's Johnson to the woman and use the Right Thumbstick to look around. Try to spot all the peeping toms in the area to kill them and get the trophy/AP. You're goal is to drink till you get your Burst meter up and get the trophy/AP for that then use Burst to make a move on the woman to get denied by Augus. In all you've earned four quick trophies/APs. After a few more words from Augus, Asura has a flashback. Tilt the thumbsticks out and your goal is to kill all the Gohma Howlers. Tilt the left thumbstick left to avoid the Gohma Charger. It falls easily once you are in Unlimited Mode. Just keep hitting it then when in UM, hit it with heavy attacks to knock it down and out. Deal with the next Gohma Charger by blindsiding it with a Heavy Attack to knock it down then use rapid melee attacks on it. Till it gets up. Jump to avoid its stomping shockwaves then finish it off with a melee combo. Run into the clearing and defeat the Gohma Charger and Gohma Howlers till you can use Burst to kill them all and smash the wall. Defeat the Gohma Squasher and Gohma Chargers with a Burst attack when it is available. Use a synchro then rotate the left thumbstick then use another synchro to defeat them all. Tilt the left thumbstick down to race Augus then the flashback ends. Tilt the thumbsticks up to end the episode.

Episode 11: The Final Lesson

Interrupt Augus's dialogue then use a synchro to land a punch that does nothing to him. Tilt the thumbsticks out to grow arms and the fight starts. Run around Augus as he does a flurry of punches. The final punch will be a uppercut that lets flames erupt from the ground. SNK fans recognize that as Heavy D's Blast Upper from King of Fighters. When he whiffs that, that is your cue to get some hits in of your own. Counterattack his charge if he uses it then pound him into the dirt or use a special attack to knock into the sky. When you're Burst Gauge is full, use it and use two synchros. Rapidly press the melee button until the Burst Gauge fills up again. You will get interrupted twice so tilt the left thumbstick in the indicated direction (first right, then down next time), counterattack after the second interruption and fill the gauge to max and use Burst to land a major hit. Round 1 goes to Asura.

Round 2 starts and Augus pulls out a sword called Wailing Dark. Tilt the thumbsticks inward to catch the sword then tilt them right to parry it. You have to run between the vertical slash waves and jump over the horizontal ones to try to reach Augus. Get in close and try to get as many hits in as you can before he hits you. If you are lucky, you can knock him down and unleash a special attack on him. When you have a Burst ready, use it to hit him hard in the gut with a synchro. Catch the sword again by tilting the thumbsticks inward then the left thumbstick right. Continue hitting the melee button. Asura loses two arms but keep pressing the melee button till launched in space with Augus in two. Asura loses his other arms when he hits the ground. Rotate the left thumbstick then use Burst to break the sword. Use the synchro to catch the sword with Asura's teeth then rotate the left thumbstick to slash Augus to death with it by tilting both thumbsticks to the right. Tilt the left thumbstick down to pick up the sword then press the Dodge button to charge after the Gohma Stryker and the episode ends. Three down four to go. He wins the fight as you will find out in episode 11.5 if you buy it or saw it on Youtube.

Episode 12: Gods of Death

Follow the little girl to her village. The people come to worship Asura again but both he and the girl are disgusted with them for wanting death. Olga appears and sends ships to bomb the village. Defeat the Doji and the Taison until you can use Burst. Use it then a synchro to kill the Taison. Olga has gone too far. The little girl and the boy she tried to rescue have seemingly been killed by the carpet bombing that puts Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings to shame. Asura survives and finds her body and goes apeshit. This earns you the "Heads will roll" Trophy/AP. Rapidly press the Melee button to send a wave of energy at the ships. Shoot the ships to fill your Burst meter then use it and a synchro to fire an energy ball at the sky. Repeat the process and use another Burst and synchro to fire another energy ball and force Olga and her fleet to flee. Keep pressing the melee button to fire on the retreating ships. This ends the episode and the Rebirth Saga.

I'm gonna call it a night here. We've concluded the Rebirth Saga and I had planned to go into the Karma saga a little but it'll wait till next update. See ya'll tomorrow. Same time, same bat channel.

Part 3: Karma

Episode 13: Cause and Effect

You now play the role of Yasha. You earn the Rebel with a cause trophy/AP upon control of him. It seems that he's had a change of heart after all. Defeat the Doji you come across. The controls are the same but the visual effects are different such as shooting slashes instead of missiles. Use the Burst when you have the chance to end this fight with three synchros. As Olga tries to get Yasha to stop with the interference of the Brahmastra being fired. The Brahmastra will be fired in 5 minutes. You go through a running scene with the same controls as with Asura. Press the melee button to slash through the door. Destroy the unimortorcycles that chase you and hop over the lasers. Use the onscreen prompts to avoid the sword slashes then rotate the left thumbstick to send the unimotorcyle through the wall. Defeat the Doji and a Taison that drop in out of nowhere (you will see a counterattack prompt appear). Use the Burst attack to send it flying through some doors. Then press the Dodge button to take off into space and land in another area. You will be do the running sequence again. Shoot through the doors and press the Dodge button again to jump off the edge. You go through a falling and another running sequence. Shoot at the door and avoid all the lasers. Shoot at the flying dodge and be sure to counterattack the rockets shot at you. After the last enemies fall, all you gotta do is press the Dodge button when prompted to leap off the ledge and rapidly press the melee button which seems futile as the blast is fired anyway but continue to mash and use Burst and a synchro. Mash the Melee button again and use another Burst. The beam has been stopped. The chapter ends.

Episode 14: Gods and Men

Press the dodge button to jump off the ship. As you fall fire upon the numerous flying Gohma you see especially the ones who looks like goldfish called a Gohma Glider. Get the Burst meter to full then use it and a synchro to destroy the fish Gohma from the inside. Yasha has a flashback where Olga is put in her place. You fought the Gohma Crusher and Chargers before so there is not much to say except start the battle by tilting the left thumbstick up and the right thumbstick down. Defeat this with a Burst attack then defeat the next set of Gohmas but start that fight by tilting the left thumbstick right. Then mash the Melee button and tilt the left thumbstick down to avoid the Gohma Smasher's attack. Rotate the left thumbstick then tilt it left and press the Heavy Attack button to send it flying. Sergei uses the Mizar to finish off the rest of the Gohma and destroy the village. Sergai then gathers all the souls of the village. Asura arrives and seemingly kills Sergei but he isn't dead yet.

Episode 15: A New Cause

Sergei confesses to killing Durga and kidnapping Mithra. Yasha is pissed now. Asura finishes off Sergei with a stomp to the face. You are still Yasha but this time you fight Asura. Tilt the left thumbstick right to avoid the punch he throws at the start then to the left. The best strategey is try to get behind Asura and use a big melee combo on him before he turns around of gets knocked down. If he is facing you, he is tough to fight so its good to use your jumping melee to perform what looks like a cross up kick and then turn around and pound on him quickly. A few times he will burst and do a move similar to Akuma/Gouki's Misogi. Counterattack it when prompted. When you have Burst ready, use it and a synchro.

Here he comes again, like before tilt the left thumbstick right then when you have Burst ready, use it and a synchro. Repeat the process again and refill the Burst meter to avoid Asura's attacks. You will do this three times then down then left then up twice then down. You still get hit but you get to raise your Burst Gauge a little. The first strike you make is a synchro. Fill it up the rest of the way and use it to finish this battle with a series of synchros and melee button mashing and a final Burst. Asura is down for the count

Episode 16: Power Struggle

Use a synchro to blast off and land on Shinto. Defeat all Doji here then defeat the two Taisons. Asura runs forward. Defeat more Doji. Use a Burst and synchro to tear down the door. When you meet up with Yasha, tilt the left thumbstick left to stop him from running. Use a synchro then tilt the left thumbstick down to abort an attack on Deus. When prompted, tilt both thumbsticks down to pound the ground then tilt the left thumbstick left then right to gain extra arms then tilt the thumbsticks out to release your rage.

Avoid the white circles on the ground as that's were lightning will strike. This will distract Deus long enough for Yasha to combo on him and then you follow up with a combo yourself. If Deus vanishes to another area, avoid the columns of lightning bolts coming at you by running between them. He eventually will fire bolts at you. When he does, counterattack 3 lightning bolt and return it the last one to sender, address unknown, no such number, no such zone then use a special attack on him. When ready, use Burst to finish him off with a synchro that does nothing then hit the dodge button to charge again with a synchro. Two more synchros will break Deus's mask. You can shut Deus up with a synchro but you get no trophy/AP for it. DAMN! Deus retreats and merges with the Brahmastra to become Sakra Devanam Indra Deus. Fire upon the fleet till you get enough to use a Burst. Tilt the left thumbstick right then up then down then up. Press the Heavy Attack button then tilt both thumbsticks to the left.

For the next scene, tilt the thumbsticks to the left then out to send out a burst of energy in six directions. Tilt the thumbsticks right to avoid a laser blast. Fire on the fleet as you avoid lasers and use a Burst followed by rapidly pressing the Heavy Attack button. Rapidly press the Dodge button to avoid being crushed by the hands of Deus.

Episode 17: Feet of Clay

Use a synchro when the hands are closing. Open fire on all targets then when you come across a circle, fly in a circular pattern to avoid the enemy fire and launch lock-on fire then use a Burst and a synchro to smash it. Open fire on as many of the reactor bulbs as you can then avoid the laser lines as you go through the tunnel. The lines will start getting more complex. Once out, aim at the three spaceship as you avoid laser blast then use Burst when ready. You control Yasha here as he has Asura drive by using his weight to guide the ship I guess. Press the Dodge button to drive through before the gate closes. Time to face Deus. Use the melee button when prompted. You may take some hits here but get in close and beat down on Deus together with Yasha and use the Recovery technique as much as possible use a Burst and a synchro to get sent away. Now you are in control of Yasha. Avoid his lightning attacks then back away from his Misogi-like move. When he whiffs the Misogi, that is your chance to do some damage to him. If you manage to go into Unlimited mode you can unleash some heavy attacks to juggle him then finish with a special attack. Try to damage him enough to use a Burst then use two synchros. One for Yasha and one for Asura then tilt the thumbsticks in and mash the melee button followed by another Burst. Deus seems to have won but Mithra awakens. Tilt the left thumbstick up twice then press the dodge button. Use four synchros. Knock Deus down and use a special attack. When he charges, counter it and pound his face into the dirt with the melee button repeatedly then do enough damage to finish him off with one more Burst. Deus is dead and Mithra is saved. Vlitra is back with a vengeance.

Episode 18: The Breaking Point

The final battle has begun and it brings up a title screen. Press Start or whatever button you choose. Tilt the thumbsticks out then press the Dodge button to go into battle. Use two synchros then go through a falling sequence. Keep firing till you are made to use a synchro, rapidly press the melee button then use another synchro to destroy a carrier. Tilt the thumbsticks outward then start firing on the Vlitra's arm. Defeat it with burst actions. When Yasha and Asura try to locate the body, rapidly press the Melee button. It starts futile then Asura seems to ask Yasha if he's tired but he's really breaking the fourth wall because my thumb got tired a little. Keeping pressing until you can Burst. Rotate the left thumbstick and rapidly press the Melee button. The body forms a face and fires a blast. Tilt the left thumbstick right to avoid the blast. All seems lost then Mithra wills the two to go on. Tilt both thumbsticks out to become Mantra Asura. Fire on the four tentacles till they are gone then fire on the face. Watch where the thin lasers are. They do no harm until the thicken. Avoid the homing fire as well. Use the Burst then rapidly press the Melee button till you can Burst again. Use a synchro with Yasha followed by a rapid Melee button press by Asura. One more synchro with Asura will destroy the shell of the Vlitra Core which you fight next.

Take your lumps and continuously beat down on it. When it raises its arms, it's going to pound the ground. The Unlimited Gauge fills up faster here. After enough damage, the Core will retreat then jump at you. Counterattack the jump for major damage. You can also counter the spike it throws at you. Other attacks to watch out for is the firey charge, lava columns, and the spin it does with its arms out to fire lasers. Use a Burst then do a lot of button mashing and synchros and finish him off with one more Burst and this fight and the game is over. There is a massive hole in the earth but the Vlitra and the Gohma are no more. There is a true Chapter 18 but more on that next time.
