Did Caius kill Lightning?

In the ending cinematic, Caius tries to goad Noel and/or Serah into killing him by claiming that in a different timeline, he killed Lightning. Noel says he's bluffing and that isn't really elaborated on after that. I haven't beaten the entire game (I don't have all the fragments and haven't traversed all paradox endings) but I'd like to know if there's any more information on this.

Well this might be spoilerish but i will tell you about it. You choose whether you want to read it or not. He did not really kill her she figured out what was would happen no matter what. So she allowed(or forced) herself to turn to crystal. She did it while sitting on the the throne of the goddess.
