Fangs Crown - When you get to the Meteorite crater. Talk to Vanille and Fang there. After that but before you leave, check the east side of the site for both of these fragments.

New Bodhum -???AF-

Transcript: Beneath a Timeless Sky - You get this fragment from getting the "Beneath a Timeless Sky" Paradox Ending. See the Paradox Ending section for more details.

Bresha Ruins -005AF-

Atlas Fragment This fragment is gained by using the control mechanism and defeating Atlas, which is a story requirement.

Ghast Fragment You pick up a side quest NW of the N most Time Gate from a yellow guard named Chester. He will ask you to kill a Cieth for him. Do so and return to him for your reward. The Cieth is in the NW most tunnel on the map.

Delicate Crystal Make your way to the control mechanism for Atlas. Solve the Time Paradox within the control mechanism and then use it to receive this Fragment.

Vita Lyrica After learning the Moogle Throw ability in Sunleth Waterscape 300AF, return to the Bresha Ruins near Atlas hand. In the NW area will be a newly unlocked area. Talk to Morris in the Command Room to find out hes lost his Comm Device. Head into this new area and you should find it in a phased chest in the ruins.

Anima Miseria There is a researcher in the NE section in the graveyard (Lamentable Rest). Talk to him and hell ask you to find a Silvery Petal flower. This flower can only be obtained from the Bresha Ruins in 300AF. It should be in roughly the same spot in 300AF as the researcher is in at 5AF. Grab the flower and return it to him for this Fragment.

Unio Mystica - You get this fragment from collecting the two experimental capsules for the soldier in the area near the N most gate. Talk to the guard to receive this quest. Make your way W through the archway. Talk to the stationary guard just to the left of the gate if you havent learned the Moogle Hunt ability (RB/R1). Go W and then take the left fork instead of taking the tunnel down. By some rubble just to your right should be the shadow of a phased Orb. Hunt for it to receive the first capsule. The Second capsule will be in the tunnel you didnt take at the fork. From the camp, head W and go into the tunnel. It will curve S and then there will be a sharp left turn. If you take the left turn, you will find an Orb with the capsule. Return to the Red Soldier to turn in the quest and receive the Unio Mystica Fragment.

Ars Symphonica Just S of the command center will be a woman who needs to find her notes. Talk to her, head to the command center and Moogle Hunt in the NW part of the Command Center. Return the notes for this Fragment.

Graviton Core Beta This can be found SE of the N most Time Gate. There will be stairs leading downward and a wall running along the E side of the stairs. You need either a chocobo or the Gravity Jump skill to get over the wall. Then Moogle Hunt at the north side of the grassy area.

Transcript: A Giant Mistake This can be gained from the Giant Mistake Paradox Ending. See the Paradox Ending section for details.

Bresha Ruins -100AF-

Kalavinka Fragment - You must first collect all of the rings and then talk to the man beside the Control Device. After that, a scene will occur where a bunch of stuff shakes. Go above ground and make your way to the center camp area (there's a quest marker on your map). When you go there, you will have to fight Kalavinka. This fight isn't as easy as you might think. Even with a combined 550 levels for each character, he still put up a decent fight. There was no chance I was going to lose but he was also far from steam rolled too so be careful. You could probably get by with a good Diversity (Med, Rav, Com) set up for most of the fight if you want to just auto-battle your way through.

Ruthenium Ring - In the middle of the map on the E side should be a section of the map that's still dark. In both 5AF and 300AF, you can't access this area but in 100AF you can. Head over that way and just before you enter that section, there will be a man to the left that you can talk to. Talk to him and he'll ask you to cheer up the mercenary in the area. Talk to the mercenary and each time you do, you'll get a live trigger. Flatter him each time and after three attempts, he'll give you this fragment.

Rhodium Ring - You must first obtain the Ruthenium, Palladium, and Osmium rings before you will be able to talk to this person. Head to Lamentable Rest (the cemetery) and there should be a researcher standing by a grave that you can talk to. Talk to him and he'll talk about his device and how it's too bad that he can't be there to use it in the future. Travel to that spot in 300AF and collect the information from the device and return back to him in 100AF.

Palladium Ring - You get this quest just W of where you come in from a woman. She will ask you to get some weapon materials for her. Keep heading W and just to the right of Chocolina will be a tunnel. Go into the tunnel and when you get to the platform area (near where Chocolina was in 5AF), you will find this hidden Treasure Cube. Open the cube and then return to the woman for this fragment.

Osmium Ring - Near the W exit of the middle set of tunnels will be a professor looking for his assistant. Talk to him and he'll ask you to look. Head into the tunnel directly behind him and watch for the assistant. It will be hard to see him because he'll be phased and walking around inside the cavern. Find him, Moogle Hunt, talk to him for the Monster Analysis and then return to the professor for the Osmium Ring.

Adamantite Ring - You must first collect the other four rings. Once you've collected them, the tunnel that leads to the Control Device for Atlas will be opened. Head down that tunnel and talk to the man by the control device. He'll tell you that he needs a couple of passwords. First head to the Yaschas Massif -100AF- and go to Hope's tent. Talk to the woman inside for Thorne's information. Now head to Yaschas Massif -100AF- and go to the dead end S of the ruins (there was a Time Gate here in 10AF). Find the phased man and use Moogle Hunt to reveal him. Talk to him and remind him that he is Thorne. He will give you the first password. Go to Control Device in Bresha Ruins 300AF, talk to the man and then use the Device to be sucked in. Solve the Paradox to get the second password. Return to the man by the Control Device in Bresha 100AF.

SOLUTION: These are a little tough because the crystals move so you have to make your plan and time it well. White tiles can be stepped on twice before they disappear. Also keep in mind that you can wait on the first four tiles (your runway of sorts) indefinitely while you check out the pattern and get a feel for the timing.

Stage One: Head up and take your first right. You need to walk all the way to the right and then all the way up but you need to be moving up while there is a crystal on that path (one). At the top, move left and stop at the first white tile (two). From the white tile, head down and collect your third crystal and then move left, up one (three and four) and left one space to the white tile. Now move left and collect the crystal on the next white tile (five). Move down to the end and left one for another crystal (six). Now there should be one crystal left that moves from the upper left tile to a tile two spaces to the right and back. You want to move slowly as you walk back up because you want to collect that crystal when it has moved to the right so that it will be on your way to the exit. Wait for the perfect timing, collect it, and dash for the exit (seven).

Stage Two: Thankfully, there is only one moving crystal here and you want to collect it while it's on the right side. From the start, go up and then take the right path. Stop on the first white tile (one). Move left to the next white tile, then up to collect the crystal and back down to what was a white tile (two). From here, move to the white tile to the left, down to the crystal and then back up to the previous tile (three). Move up two spaces and then right one (four). From here, go up one, right two to a white tile, down one and right one to another white tile. This is where you need to time it. You need to move down one space to collect the crystal (five), then back up to the previous tile. From there you need to move right one space to collect the crystal when it has moved there (six). From here, move up, left two and then up to the exit.

Stage Three: Holy bugger was this one hard. Go to the first intersection and wait for the crystal to appear on your left. Once it does, go left two spaces and up two spaces (one). Go right one space, up one space (two), right one space and then down one space to a white tile. Wait for the crystal to appear on your right (or better, just before it appears), then go down one space (three), up one space, and right one space (four). Move right one space (five) and then move up to the next white tile.

This is the tough part so wait and observe for a moment. There is a crystal that shifts from just above you to below you at a spot you can't reach. There is also a crystal that shifts from just to the left of the gate to just to the right of the gate. You need to get the first crystal while it is in the upper position but you need to get the second crystal while it's to the right side of the path to the gate. The problem is that they are at those spots at opposing times and you have already used up your white tile. Wait here a moment until the crystal shifts to the upper location, wait a moment and then grab it (six). Now slowly walk down one space and wait for the crystal to move closer to you before you move left to collect it (seven). Now book it for the exit.

Bresha Ruins -300AF-

Control Device Password 2 - You get this during the course of obtaining the Adamantite Ring Fragment in Bresha Ruins 100AF.

Iridium Ring Go to the NE area by where you fought Atlas. In the graveyard will be a shade of a man. Moogle Hunt for him and then talk to him. He will send you to talk to his friend in the middle of the map, underground. This man is a jokester. Talk to him and answer all the Live Triggers with jokes. When you have, he will send you back to the man in the graveyard. Talk to him for this Fragment.

Platinum Ring Talk to Jonah the researcher who is on the stairs directly ahead of where you start in this area. He will ask you to retrieve a Recording Device. The Recording Device is in the Echoes of the Past section in the NW corner. The Device is in a phased Treasure Cube.

Mythril Ring In the middle of the map, to the E of where there was a Time Gate in 5AF, you should find a researcher who wants to blow up the ruins. Talk to him and hell send you to find the Commander who is on the steps by where Jonah the Researcher is E of here (outside). Go there and talk to the Soldier with the unique helmet. Hell send you back with his findings.

Yaschas Massif -010AF-

Aloeidai Fragment - You get this fragment during the course of the story, on your first visit to Yaschas Massif 10AF.

Pathos Jewel - You must first have obtained Moogle Hunt and Mog Throw to get this. From Hope's camp, if you look NW, you should see a golden head in the distance. If you go over to the catwalk next to it, you should see a small Treasure Cube hovering just under the face on a small platform that you can't reach. First you need to Moogle Hunt as close to it as you can get, then you need to throw Mog over to get it.

Misery's Bead - After obtaining all the other fragments in this area, head out of the ruins going S. Just past Chocolina's shop should be a female soldier (more like officer uniform than soldier gear), likely on the left side of the path with another female soldier that looks just like her. These are NOT researchers and they won't even appear until after you've collected the other fragments. She will ask you to collect a Behemoth Fang. Head to the search light area and go to the S section of it. If you run around in the dark areas outside of the searchlight, you should bump into a behemoth pretty quickly. Kill it for its fang (NOTE: It's possible to collect these without talking to the soldier so if you already have one, you don't need to kill another behemoth). Return the fang to the soldier for this fragment.

Amur's Sphere - In the ruins, there is a man standing by the ramp that leads up to Hope's camp at the E side of the camp. Talk to him and he'll ask for an old battery. You need to go to Yaschas Massif -01X AF- to find what he's looking for. Just to the W of where he is, just down some steps are some red boxes. You need to Throw Mog behind those boxes from below.

Innocence's Sacred Sphere - There is a woman on the N side of the pit in the ruins. Talk to her and she'll ask you to find a watch for her. Travel to Yaschas Massif -110 AF-. From the ruins, head S into the field and hug the right side wall as it turns W. Continue to follow the N most wall of plains and you'll come to a point where there is a little knob sticking out N from the path (just before the path turns into the spotlight area). At the NE side of this knob is a large crevice that you can't go into but you should see a floating Treasure Cube. Throw Mog at it to collect it the watch and then return to the woman in -10 AF-.

Yaschas Massif -01XAF-

Gorgyra Fragment - In the acropolis area, by the ramp leading to where Hope was, you should see a man nearby. Talk to him and he will tell you a story about a female guardian of the seeress. This will start your quest to hunt Gorgyra. Make your way to the far SW area of the map, beyond the searchlights and you should find Gorgyra. She can hurl some debuffs so equipping yourself for it and bringing a medic with Esuna will be helpful. It doesn't take a lot to stagger her but she does still have a lot of health and you might have trouble killing her in one stagger. Just keep healing and press the attack when you can and she'll go down.

Orb of Clotho - There is a man in the NE corner of the ruins who will tell you about a Tablet of Paddra that broke. Head to 10 AF and go to the searchlight area. You should find this tucked in a nook in the E wall of the area. You may have already collected it on your first pass through here and if you did you can just give it to him. Either way, turn in this in for the fragment.

Sword of Lachesis - Take a chocobo towards the spotlight area. Travel along so that you approach it from the N and on the left, you should see a small plateau that you can only reach if you glide over to it with your chocobo. You should see a woman on top of it. Talk to her and she will tell you about a plant that only blooms during an eclipse. Head back to 10 AF and go to this exact spot to collect it. Return to her in 1XAF to get this fragment.

Mirror of Atropos - Talk to the researcher in the pit near the ramp leading out of the ruins. He will mention that three stars had fallen recently and he was interested in you finding them for him. The first one is in the area with the spotlights. Throw Mog into the W hole of the S area to find a crystal. From this area, take the path that leads E, then head S. On the left side you should see a bunch of debris. You'll find one of the crystals amongst the debris. When you get to the end and can turn right, do so. You'll see a ramp leading downward. The last crystal is under the ramp. Take them back to the researcher for this fragment.

Yaschas Massif -100AF-

Schwertleite's Flower - Must obtain Helwige's Nightshade and Siegrune's Spiritbloom first. There is a red orb in the S part of the fields by a bunch of rubble (SE of the spotlights). Talk to it to get the quest, and then check over by Chocolina's Shop. Just S of her should be some rubble and a phased cube on it. Hunt and open it, then take the Comm device back to the red orb.

Helwige's Nightshade - You get this quest from talking to the red orb in the Acropolis area. From the ruins, head straight S, past another red orb and down to a lower area where there used to be a Time Gate. You should see a phased cube here. Open it for the frame, and then return to the quest giving orb.

Siegrune's Spiritbloom - Must obtain Helwige's Nightshade first. You get this quest from the Red Orb in the SE area of the plains. Just before where you jumped down to find the picture frame, there should be a red orb. Talk to it, then go back up to Hope's Command Center and in the back corner should be a phased cube. Hunt for it and open it to get Hope's Bulb. Take this back to the Orb.

Rossweisse Skyblossom - Must have Schwertleite's Flower first. You get this quest from the red orb in the NW part of the fields, just N of the spotlight area. Head back to the ruins and under the giant statue head, will be a catwalk. Under the catwalk will be a bunch of red boxes the form a corner under the catwalk. You need to throw Mog into the pocket behind the red crates. The cube you are looking for is actually visible from the outside so try to look and aim if you are having trouble. Once you've opened the cube, head back to this orb to get this fragment.

Book of Shambala - After getting all other fragments in the area, you'll be notified of an anomaly that has appeared. You'll find this in the first section of the ruins. Go inside and solve the clock puzzles for this fragment.

Book of Valhalla - From the orb where you get Schwertleite's Flower, you should see a rift just to the S. Go into the rift and solve the puzzle there to get this fragment. Unfortunately there's no easy solution for these since they are randomly generated. There are numerous calculators on the web that you can use that will solve it for you however.

0169FyusfnfQipcjb Graviton Core Epsilon - In the N Spotlight area, there is a large crevice in the middle. About half way up on the left side will be a phased cube. Hunt and open it for this fragment.

Yaschas Massif -110AF-

Control Device Password 1 - You get this during the course of collecting the Adamantite Ring fragment. See that fragment for more details.

Ugallu Fragment - After getting the Book of Avalon fragment, another distortion will appear near Chocolina's Shop. Go there and talk to the red orb. The orb will send you to the spotlight area to fight Ugallu. He has a lot of positive status effects for him and lots of negative ones for you so make sure you bring a saboteur and a paradigm heavy in medics (with esuna). Thankfully, he doesn't have a whole lot of health so if you can manage to stagger him while your team is in good health, you should have no problem killing him before he does any serious damage.

Waltraute's Flower - You first have to get Gerhilde's Blossom, and then talk to the red orb next to the stairs leading up to the Acropolis. He will tell you about a technician that has done a faulty wiring job. Go up to the Hope's Command Center and search for a phased Cube. Hunt and open it for a technical manual. Now get on a chocobo and head for the searchlight area. Travel along the N side of the field so you approach the searchlight area from the N. Just before you get there, you'll be able to glide over to a small plateau with the technician on it. Talk to him and tell him that the manual told him that he did a poor job.

Gerhilde's Blossom - You will find a red orb on the steps of the Acropolis. Talk to it and it will ask you to find its sister. The sister is phased out S of Chocolina's Shop. Hunt for her and then talk to her for some jewelry. Take this back to the orb for this fragment.

Ortlinde's Bloom - You have to get Waltraute's Flower before you can do this quest. Go up the catwalk behind Hope's Command Center and talk to the red orb at the top. He will talk about some terrorists and ask you to find proof. Head to the searchlight area in the S. The N of the two areas has a large vertical hole in it. Next to this hole should be a phased treasure cube. Hunt and open it, then return to the orb for this fragment.

Book of Avalon - After completing three sidequests, you'll get a message about a space-time distortion. You will find this at the far SW side of the map. Solve the Clock Puzzles within to get this fragment.

Oerba -200AF-

Time's Stardust - You get this during the course of the story, can't miss it.

Time's Shell - You get this during the course of the story, can't miss it.

Time's Coral - You get this during the course of the story, can't miss it.

Giant Egg - This fragment is floating just to the E of the Time Gate that you used to get here. You'll have to Moogle Hunt for it.

Graviton Core Gamma - From the Time Gate, follow the big street N. Just before the three way intersection that this road ends at, if you turn right there will be a hole in the wall with a pile of sand forming a ramp. Use a chocobo to glide over to the roof of the building just across the gap. Moogle Hunt to find this piece.

Oerba -300AF-

Stage 1: Move up one (1), left to the white tile. Move all the way up and then all the way right (2). Now down one, right one, down one (3), and back up one space. From here, move right and then up to leave.

Stage 2: go right, then up (1). Move left one space to the white tile. Move up on space (2) then down two spaces. Move all the way left (3) and down one space (4). Move right one space, up one, right one, and then up to the next white tile (5). Move left to the end (6) and then back right two spaces. Now move up to leave.

Puzzle Solution

Thrilling Milestone - Get this fragment by solving the Matching puzzle anomaly that's on top of the building with the billboard just S of Chocolina.

Lovely Starstone - Solve the Anomaly that is hidden (Moogle Hunt) by the stairs near the ruined missile S of the School House. Solve the clock puzzles within for this fragment.

Bubbly Stone - You get this fragment for solving the Anomaly down in the Ashensand. At the bottom of the steps, do a Moogle Hunt to find it.

Puzzle Solution

Stage 1: Up one, right one and then up three to a white tile (1). Left two (2 and 3), down three (4) and then back up one. Left and then all the way up (5). Right two (6), down one, right one, down one, right one (7). Up and out.

Stage 2: Up two (1 and 2), right one, up one, left one (3). Up two (4 and 5), right one, up one (6), left one (7) and up one (8). Right one, up two, left one and up to the exit.

Puzzle Solution

Stage 3: Up one to a white tile, left one (1), right one and up two to a white tile. Left one, up three (2), and back down one. Right two, down one (3), right two and up two (4). Left two and up to the exit.

Dewy Bloodstone - Solve the matching puzzle just N of the giant tree in the road.

Mossy Rosetta Stone - Get this fragment by solving the Matching puzzle anomaly at the far S end of the map. This is where you start off in Oerba 200AF before you start unlocking other areas.

Oerba -400AF-

Bittersweet Chiffon - Solve the Matching puzzle anomaly NE of Chocolina's position, under the large fan.

Tremulous Muffin - Complete the Labyrinth puzzle anomaly on the building S of Chocolina's Shop. This is on the snow drift on the S end of the building with the billboard on it.

Puzzle Solution

Stage 1: Go up one space (1), left two (2), and then up two until you have to stop. Then go right two, down one, right one (3), down one, and right one (4) to rest at the lower right corner. Now go up three, left one, up one, left one (5) and exit by going up. For the last two, just make sure that you time it right because both crystals move.

Stage 2: Wait for the Crystal to appear on the first square in the lower right corner of the right box. One it appears, grab it by going up to the upper right corner (1 and 2). Now go left three spaces to the halfway point (3). Go down three spaces (4), left three space (5), and up to the exit (6).

Beloved Cinnamon - Complete the Clock Puzzle Anomaly on the E shore of the Ashensand for this fragment.

Selfish Pancake - Complete the Clock puzzle anomaly by the broken rocket N of the schoolhouse for this fragment.

Farewell Medeleine - Solve the Labyrinth puzzle Anomaly NW of the big tree at the N end of the main road. This is just E of where you start from.

Puzzle Solution

Stage 1: Up one, left one, up two, right two (1), and up two to end up in the upper right corner. From here go left two (2), down one, left two to be under the exit. Go down two (3), right one, down one (4). Now go left two, up all the way (5 and 6), right one, and up to the exit. Stage 2: This one is actually rather simple. You want to take the right path. There are two crystals that alternate left and right but they are never both on the right side at the same time so you need to walk slowly along the right path and time it so that you are at the right spot when the crystals swap places. Grab the first and slowly walk up to where the second will appear. Once you have both, run to the end of the path for the exit.

Stage 3: Go up one, left one and up all the way (1) but watch for the moving crystal. From the upper left corner, go right two (2 and 3), down two, left one (4), and right two (5). Now go down two, left one, down one (6), right one, and then up all the way to the exit (7).

Oerba -???AF-

Transcript: Vanille's Truth - This is gained from the Vanille's Truth Paradox Ending. See the Paradox Ending section for more details.

Sunleth Waterscape -300AF-

Mutantomato Fragment - You get this by defeating the Mutantomato after fixing the paradox in Archylte Steppe ???AF. Once that paradox is fixed, instead of fighting His Royal Ripeness, you will find Mutant Tomato. Defeat him. This is a story fragment and you should get it through a normal playthrough but theoretically, it is possible to defeat his Royal Ripeness and get the Paradox Ending and stop playing (I guess).

Extraordinary Egg - You'll find this as you head to the E most point. Take the path that leads past Chocolina and the Time Gate. The path will split N and S with the S just leading to a chest. The N path will lead to a vine. Before you use the vine, you'll see the fragment below you. You can throw Mog from here or you can swing on the vine and immediately do an about face to get closer. Might as well do the later so you actually explore that space because there's no other reason to do so.

Sunleth Waterscape -400AF-

Miniflan Fragment - After finding the five mini flan and collecting their fragments, the flan will gather by where you fought His Royal Ripeness. Go there and you will have to fight the five flan you just saved. After you win, you will get this fragment.

Lapis Lazuli - You get this fragment for finding the red miniflan. Just after finding the group of miniflan, you will find him in the same area at the NE edge. You'll have to Moogle Hunt for him over near the vines.

Heliodor Ore - From the red miniflan, take the vine that leads directly N. You should find the blue miniflan near where you land. Just do a Moogle Hunt in the area to find him and receive this fragment.

Carnelian - After you ride the Woodwraith to the N, you'll come to a small hub area. If you'd go NW from here, you would have found a Time Gate in 300AF but this time you will find a green flan. Do a Moogle Hunt for the miniflan for this fragment.

Celestine - After you ride the Woodwraith to the N, you'll come to a small hub area. Go SE past Chocolina's Shop and when the path splits, take the S path that ends abruptly. This is where you'll find the black flan and among them will be a phased black miniflan.

Cosmo Aura - In the SE most corner of the map, after climbing a bunch of logs and vines, you'll find a group of white flan and in their midst will be a phased white miniflan. Moogle Hunt for him to receive this fragment.

Graviton Core Eta - You can get this in the area where the miniflan were gathering. It will be sitting right on top of a pool of water after you defeat the five colored miniflan.

Sunleth Waterscape -???AF-

Transcript: Mog's Marvelous Flan Plan - You get this for the Paradox Ending Mog's Marvelous Flan Plan. See the Paradox Ending section for more details.

Coliseum -Year Unknown-

White Hole Gem - You'll visit the coliseum from Sunleth 300AF as part of the story. When you walk down to the center of the coliseum, Noel will talk his way into getting this fragment on his own.

Archylte Steppe -Year Unknown-

Black Hole Gem - You get this fragment during the course of the main story when you defeat Faeryl.

Goblin Fragment - This is the first quest you'll get from the tribe of hunters. Talk to Tipur on the top floor to get this quest. Kill the goblins and return to Tipur for the fragment.

Fragment of Invincibility - You must first collect the Ochu fragment to unlock this quest. Talk to the woman near the sheep to get this quest. Once you have the quest, you will find Invincible out on the plains during cloudy weather (both levers cold). He's not overly difficult but you need to watch for when he summons his sword. The sword will act independently and can be quite damaging so as soon as it appears, take it out and you won't have any probably with Invincible himself. It's worth noting that he drops both of the weapons required for Noel's ultimate weapon but one is uncommon and the other is rather rare so it might take a few tries.

Ochu Fragment - Kill the Ochu in the Clearwater Marshes for this fragment. A fully developed party shouldn't have much of a problem and I recommend that you wait until then. The Ochu is definitely something you can defeat at lower levels but he is quite fierce and he constantly summons microchus to fight you which can be difficult to cope with.

Long Gui Fragment - You get this fragment by killing the Long Gui that appears in the Steppe when it is sunny. He is not an easy enemy, sporting quite a bit of health, some heavy hitting (though slow) attacks, and wounding damage.

Paradigms:

  1. Sen, Sen, Sen
  2. Syn, Syn, Sen
  3. Sab, Sab, Sen
  4. Rav, Rav, Com
  5. Com, Com, Com
  6. Some form of healing

Start with paradigm 2 to buff up, and then change to 3 to put debuffs on one of the legs. Now switch to paradigm 4 and stagger the leg. Kill it as you would any other beast. Then repeat the same process for the other leg. Once both legs are down, change to 3 and quickly put Deshell, Deprotect, and poison on him. Now build up his stagger to the 900%+ area and change to paradigm 5. It is possible to kill it in one stagger though it may take two. If the stagger wears off, just start at the legs again.

Very important though that you make sure you change to paradigm 1 if you see an attack coming (the camera is frustrating here because it never looks at the feet) and keep your health topped off when possible.

Yomi Fragment - Yomi is both very tough when fought traditionally and very easy when you have patience. You must first get this quest from one of the Hunters and then you have to jump over to his pillar with a chocobo. He only appears during certain weather (stormy I think). You can beat him with only three or four paradigms.

  1. Sen, Sen, Sen *optional
  2. Sab, Sab, Sen
  3. Med, Med, Sen
  4. Syn, Syn, Sen *optional

That's right, no commandos or ravagers. Basically, use paradigm 2 to get poison on Yomi. If you really want to do direct damage at this point, you can but it's really not worth the effort so I would just change to 1 until Yomi goes into its protective barrier. Once it does, I would use 3 to heal up and then switch to 4 to put on some protection. Don't dawdle in 4 though. As soon as Yomi comes out of its protection, make sure you switch back to 2 and put the poison on it. Then it's just a battle of attrition. When you kill it, you will get the fragment.

Woolly Stone - After getting the Goblin fragment by helping Tipur, talk to the woman down the stairs standing on the Red Cactuar painting. She will ask you to collect wool from three sheep in the plains. These sheep are larger than the normal sheep and will each appear in different directions from the camp. You will find one SW, S, and SE of the camp. Once you've collected all three, return to the woman for this fragment.

Crimson Crystal - You get this for activating the Red Cactuar statue directly S of the hunter camp.

Azure Crystal - You get this fragment for activating the Red Cactuar statue in Grave Ridge behind the Gigantuar statue.

Forest Crystal - You get this for activating the gold cactuar statue in Grave Ridge that is caught up in the tornado. It only appears during cloudy weather and shows up on the map as a red cactuar statue. This is also the statue that teleports you to the Clearwater Marsh

Amber Crystal - Activate the N red cactuar statue in the Clearwater Marsh for this fragment.

Violet Crystal - Activate the SW red cactuar statue in the Clearwater Marsh that only appears during stormy weather.

Transcript: A Giant Mistake - You get this from getting the Giant Mistake Paradox Ending. See the Paradox Ending Section for details.

Serendipity -Year Unknown-

Chaos Crystal - You have to get 10,000 coins (7,500 coins if you have the Haggle Fragment Skill) to get this. You can earn coins at the slots or from Chocobo racing. If you have the gold chocobo, racing is a far more consistent way of getting coins (and costs you nothing to enter). However, you will need to play the slots to get the Lucky Coin fragment so it might help you if you do that first. The third option is that you can simply purchase enough coins with gil at a 10 gil to 1 coin ratio.

Setzer's Dice - You have to get 10,000 coins (7,500 coins if you have the Haggle Fragment Skill) to get this.

Chocochick Down - Go into the Chocobo racing room. From the woman who registers you for races follow the counter around the room to the left and you'll find a chocobo chick. It'll be very hard to see so it's better if you just follow the counter until the "Examine" cue appears.

Lucky Coin - You get the Lucky Coin randomly from a 777 jackpot on the slots. It is also possible that you might have to win 7,777 coins from the slots instead (we're not sure but the former seems more likely) but if this is true, you can still have an overall net loss as long as the sum of each of your winnings is more than 7,777. For the 777 jackpot, It won't appear every time so be patient. The best path is to take a large sum of coins and just keep spending until you get a 777 for Victory mode and then another for Super Victory Mode. You'll lose a LOT of coins quickly this way unless you are very lucky. However, it will greatly increase your chances of getting a 777 and therefore get you the Lucky Coin more quickly. You can always plug your controller in and rubber band the auto-play button. Just be sure to keep an eye out or check back frequently so you don't waste coins after getting it.

Priceless Gift - You have to get 10,000 coins (7,500 coins if you have the Haggle Fragment Skill) to buy the "Just 1 Gil" from the shop.

Academia -400AF-

Zenobia Fragment - You get the Zenobia fragment by defeating the enemy of the same name during the main story. This is towards the end of your time in Academia 400AF.

Academic Rank: Paradox Professor - For this fragment, you must collect each of the Travel Guide fragments from the woman near Chocolina's Shop in the SE portion of the map. After you have searched every map and highlighted every area (even the ones that seem impossible to reach), you will get this fragment. NOTE: If you go to Serendipity after getting this fragment, you will be able to get the Battle Mania Fragment Skill which will make rare monsters appear far more frequently.

Travel Guide: New Bodhum - To get this, you must fully explore all of New Bodhum in all of its time periods. If you are only missing a small amount, the most likely spots to be missing are the tip of the pier leading into the ocean and the platform outside of NORA House that wraps around the left and right side. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Bresha Ruins - For this, you must fully explore the Bresha Ruins. You must explore the ruins in each timeline because each one has a different section that you can't reach in the others. If you are missing any areas, make sure that you've gotten the part N of lamentable rest (300AF), to the far E behind a bunch of debris (100AF), the grassy patch (where Graviton Core Beta is), and the various catwalks and tunnels around the map. Lastly, make sure that you hit Atlas' fingertips in the main excavation area by taking a Chocobo up to the top of the S catwalk. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Yaschas Massif - You must fully explore Yaschas Massif in all of its timelines for this fragment. The only significant areas of note are the area beside the Command Center and the little plateau to the N of the Spotlight area. To get to the one near the Command Center, you must go to it in a timeline where you have access to that catwalk that goes over the Command Center (1XAF is just fine). Take a couple steps past the barrier and on you right should be a hole in the fence so you can explore the area under the catwalk. For the plateau, take a Chocobo and approach the Spotlight area from the N. As you come around the corner moving along the N path, you should have to go down a little hill and on the left, you should be able to see the top of the plateau. From here, you have to hold the jump button to glide over to the top of the plateau. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Oerba - You spend a significant amount of time exploring Oerba piece by piece but there are a few spots you might be missing that are keeping you from getting this fragment. Make sure that you explore inside the building SW of Chocolina and the catwalk that wraps around the back of it (accessible from the E outside part of the building). Also, there is a room in the Schoolhouse that is only accessible from the top floor though I'm not sure it counts. You must go to the top floor and drop in through a broken window to get to it and the Treasure Orb inside the room. Also make sure you explore all of the Ashensand area during the 400AF timeline. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Sunleth Waterscape - Fully explore Sunleth Waterscape for this fragment. You can actually explore the entire area in 300 AF. Most of the map is pretty easy but the two areas to watch out for are an area on the W side of the map (S of the Woodwraith ride) that can only be accessed by two vines, both of which are invisible. You must find and use both vines to explore the entire area. The other is at a section SE of where you fought His Royal Ripeness. There is a path that leads SE from a Time Gate. If you take the lower path, you will find a Treasure Orb and a dead end. If you take the higher route, you'll find a path that leads over some branches and vine. Once you get there, hop down to the lower level and make your way back. You won't be able to make a loop unfortunately so when you've explored, return to the upper level and take the branches again. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Academia - To fully explore Academia, you actually have to complete two maps. The first is the normal 400/4XXAF map. Between the two, you'll be able to explore most of the map. It won't be hard to figure out how to get into a dark spot, just be vigilant about looking over your maps and be sure to go into the various shops that are only open in 4XXAF. The other map is the map of 500 AF with all the spinning blocks. This is a little frustrating but take your time getting from platform to platform and you'll have explored most of the map. The only spots to watch out for are a couple of platforms that are much lower in the NW and NE parts of the map. You'll have to go to the end of a block, jump and fall to these little square platforms. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Augusta Tower - Augusta Tower isn't hard to explore. While in the map, just make sure you use the shoulder buttons to go up and down through the different levels of the map. Both timelines are important though because each one covers a different set of floors (12 - 15 for 300AF and 49 - 52/Top Floor in 200AF). Most of 200AF shouldn't be a problem because you can take the central elevator to each floor once you've beaten the boss, you may just have to turn some of the rooms to access certain parts of the map. The lower levels can be a little tricky. Firstly, you need to explore the 13th floor which you only get the access key for by obtaining the fragments in 200AF. To get to the 13th floor, you must take the central elevator down from the 15th floor. You can't reach an even numbered floor from an odd numbered floor through the central elevator (and the reverse is true). To get between the two sets of floors, you have to use the small elevator on the outer ring that goes between floor 14 and 15, then use the central elevator to get to the other floors. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Vile Peaks - Exploring the Vile Peaks in both timeless will give you this fragment. The Vile Peaks are actually very easy to explore. Just be sure to explore the N section of the area in 10AF because you can't access it in 200AF. Otherwise, you should manage to explore the entire map just by making a lap. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Travel Guide: Archylte Steppe - The Archylte Steppe only has a couple of difficult places to explore. This first part that might be tough is the Clearwater marshes. To get to them, you have to make the weather cloudy (you gain access to a weather machine during the story) and then explore the SW part of the plains near the W part of Grave Ridge for a phased cactuar statue in a small tornado. You can use that to teleport to the marshes or you can gravity jump (if you have the fragment skill). The other section that is a little strange is at the far S end in the Grave Ridge area. There will be a tall pillar that you can reach the top of but you have to explore it. You'll have to first find all of the cactuar statues scattered around the Steppe to unlock the use of the Hunter's chocobos. Then you'll have to climb the S side of the ridge to find a little plateau to glide from. This pillar is also where you fight Yomi.

The locations of the red cactuar statues are: 1) directly south of the hunter's camp in the middle of the plains. 2) Far S of the Hunter's camp in Grave Ridge will be a giant stone cactuar statue (which does nothing) but behind it will be this smaller red statue. 3) This statue is actually gold in appearance but it shows on the map as a red statue. This is the aforementioned teleportation statue in the W part of Grave Ridge during cloudy weather. It will be phased and in a tornado. 4) In Clearwater Marsh, this statue will be in the water just N of the central island. Should appear while it's sunny I believe. 5) In the SW corner of the Clearwater Marshes. It will be on land but only appears when it is Stormy out (cloudy, dark, lightning but no rain).

Defeating the three Gigantuars will allow you to unlock the other Time Gate. The locations of the green Cactuar Statues are: 1) SW of the hunter's camp and NW of Grave Ridge will be a bunch of cacti with this statue in the middle. 2) Behind a giant stone in the NE part of Clearwater Marsh when it is Sunny. 3) SW of the second statue, there will be a little plateau that sticks out over the water. This may be phased and only appear during a certain weather condition (rainy?).

Archylte Steppe Map

Travel Guide: A Dying World - This map is actually pretty easy to explore but it's large. Buy a bunch of Greens from Chocolina and hop on a chocobo to save yourself some time and sanity. Once you have gotten it explored 100%, report to the woman near Chocolina in the SE section of Academia 400AF.

Graviton Core Delta - After defeating Zenobia, find Chocolina's Shop. Immediately N from here is a red ramp that goes down but the ramp is moving up towards you. You have to continually jump down this ramp to get to the bottom where you will find a dead end and this fragment.

Academia -4XXAF-

NOTE: I'm not generally a fan of using links in my guides but there are 120 questions (btw, the list is missing that New Bodhum grows vegetables) for the Quiz Rank fragments, 400 different questions for the Brain Blitz fragments and you already know how many monsters. That would probably triple the size of the guide on its own which is a little crazy for 11 fragments.

Academic Rank: Monster Professor - To get this fragment, you must find and defeat every monster in the game. You do NOT have to get all of their information. You don't have to use a libra or librascope. You just have to defeat them. For a full list: tinyurl.com/Monsters-for-Dr-M Quiz Rank: Private - Find Captain Cryptic for the first time and answer one question correctly for this fragment.

Quiz Rank: Sergeant - Find Captain Cryptic a second time and answer two questions correctly for this fragment.

Quiz Rank: Lieutenant - Find Captain Cryptic a third time and answer three questions correctly for this fragment.

Quiz Rank: Colonel - Find Captain Cryptic a fourth time and answer four questions correctly for this fragment.

Quiz Rank: General - Find Captain Cryptic a fifth time and answer five questions correctly for this fragment. For a map, check out: tinyurl.com/Captain-Cryptic-Map For answers, check: tinyurl.com/Captain-Cryptic-Answers

Stoic Virtue - You get this fragment from answering 10 questions correctly in a row from the terminal in the Academia HQ building.

Epicurean Song - You get this fragment from answering 10 questions correctly in a row from the terminal at far E part of the map.

Lyceum Knowledge - You get this fragment from answering 10 questions correctly in a row at the terminal that is just S of Chocolina's Store was in 400AF in the NW part of the city.

Academia Wisdom - You get this fragment from answering 10 questions correctly in a row at the terminal in NW corner of the map. In 400AF, there was a Time Gate here.

For locations, see Quiz Rank: General for a map. For answers, see: tinyurl.com/Brain-Blitz-Answers

Transcript: The Future Is Hope - You get this by getting the "The Future is Hope" Paradox Ending. See the Paradox Ending Section for more details.

Academia -500AF-

Paradox Scope - This fragment is gained by finishing the main story.

Amethyst and Luvulite Fragment - You get this by defeating Pacos Amethyst and Luvulite during the main story.

Augusta Tower -200AF-

Proto Fal'Cie Adam Fragment - You get this fragment piece by defeating the Proto Fal'Cie Adam during the main quest.

Idea Circuit - In the NW room of the 50th floor, you will find a computer quest giver. Talk to it to find Paradox Agent A. Go to the SE room (with Chocolina in it) and look at the ceiling's N corner to find a Treasure Cube. Open it and return the Agent to the computer.

Enigma Codex - You'll get this quest from a different computer in the NW room of the 50th floor. You'll have to find Paradox Agent B this time. The simple but longer way is to go down to the 49th floor and Throw Mog over to the Treasure Cube against the wall to the W. The faster way of doing this is to simply go out of the SE door to this room so you are on the middle ring, face W and find the Cube along the wall on the lower level. From here you can actually throw Mog to it. This is much harder throw but it's definitely possible (I got it first shot) if you are confident with your Moogle Throwing skills. Return the Agent to the computer for this fragment.

Difference Engine - You'll get this quest from a different computer (possibly computer A) in the NW room of the 50th floor. You'll have to find Paradox Agent C. This Treasure Cube as actually lower than the 49th floor. If you look to the NE, about 2 o'clock, you'll find the pillars and at the bottom of one of them where it meets the floor, you should see a cube. I don't know if it's actually possible to hit this cube from the 50th floor. I would imagine it is but it's a very small target even on the 49th floor. On the 49th floor, I found it was easiest to hit it if you are on the middle ring. Go to the west part of the ring and follow it N to the end. From there, find the cube again to the NE and toss Mog. Once you finally have it, bring it back to the computer for this fragment.

Augusta Tower -300AF-

Entropy Board - You gain this fragment by solving the room puzzles on the lower levels of Augusta Tower. This is part of the main story.
