I. Achievement Overview
-----------------------
Resident Evil 4 HD is on the Xbox Marketplace as a Games on Demand. For
Playstation 3 it is on the Playstation Network as a downloadable game
only. Resident Evil 4 HD currently has 12 achievements worth 1000
gamerscore. It requires at least 2 main story playthroughs and 1
playthrough of the Separate Ways Campaign to unlock all costumes.
Each playthrough for the normal gamer should take anywhere from 8-10
hours for Normal mode and then tack a few more hours on for Professional.
Separate Ways takes about 4-6 hours for the normal gamer. You must
complete the game at least once on Normal to unlock all the other modes
including Professional. There are different modes depending on your
region like the German version doesn't include Mercanaries or the
Assignment Ada but neither modes are needed for the complete 1000.
When you reach the Merchant before the last boss, you can do all the
bottle caps. You can do them earlier but not all target courses are
unlocked until near the end. If you are having a lot of problems
with certain bosses. Rocket Launchers are one hit kills on all
bosses.

II. The Achievements
--------------------
A. It Begins With a Ring
- Ring the mysterious bell. What happens after that, is up to you. 50G
- When you get to the first village in the game. You will get attacked
by all the villagers. You must defend them off for a bit of time
until the bell rings to lure them away.

B. Do Not Shoot the Water!
- Summon the master of the lake. Don't rock the boat. 50G
- When you get to the part in the game where you see the Ganados
throwing the bodies in the water for the big fish. You can either
run up to the lake and shoot the water to get eaten to get this
achievement or you can defeat the big fish and get it. Either
way you must defeat the fish to continue with the story.

C. A Rock and a Hard Place
- Outmaneuver the rampaging beast, El Gigante. 50G
- Remember the dog in the bear trap at the beginning of the game.
If you rescued him, it will make this fight a bit easier. You
must kill this giant Ganado. You have to shoot him until he
falls to his knees and then run up his back and knife the
parasite that appears.

D. Secure the Ballistics
- Rescue the president's daughter, Ashley. Afterwards, the real fun
begins. 50G
- This happens in Chapter 2-1 inside the Church. Nothing really
special about it.
E. A Bloodline Severed
- Defeat the village chief in battle. 50G
- This is the final boss of Chapter 2. You will fight him in the
barn. He has two forms. Here is a video of how to beat him.

F. A Terrifying Assassin
- Turn the tables on Verdugo, the right hand of Salazar. 150G
- You will fight Verdugo in Chapter 4. He is pretty much
invincible unless you freeze him with the canisters that
are scattered around the area. While frozen, just shoot
him up.

G. The Castellan Falls
- Defeat Salazar, and make your escape from the castle. 50G
- You will finally fight Salazar at the end of Chapter 4.
You have to shoot the middle tentacle in the eye to get
Salazar to appear. Then just shoot him up. There is
plenty of ammo at the bottom floor if you need some.

H. The Ties That Bind
- Defeat Krauser, your former partner, in battle. 50G
- You will fight Krauser in Chapter 5. He may seem hard
but an easy tactic to beat him is to flash him and
keep knifing him. Your knife does the most damage to
him.

I. We're Going Home
- Defeat Saddler in battle, and escape from the nightmare. 100G
- Saddler is the final boss of the game. You must shoot him
until he collapses and then run up and stab him in the eye.
Do this until Ada throws you a rocket launcher to finish
him off.

J. A Heart of Steel
- Clear the game on the highest difficulty. 50G
- You will have to complete the game on Normal first to
unlock Professional difficulty. Mostly everything will
kill you on Professional. A way to make it easier is
to complete Separate Ways first. This will unlock
Ashley's suit of armor costume making her invincible.
She also cannot be picked up by the Ganados while in
this costume making yourself the only person you have
to worry about.
K. What Are They Worth?
- Acquire all of the bottle caps in the game. 150G
- Once you get to the castle, you will notice the
merchant will have a door next to him in some locations.
This is a target shooting game mode. You must score so
many points on each Trial to get all the bottle caps.

Score 4000 or more on Game Type B.
