Punishment for dying?

What do you lose if anything when you die? Like some money items etc?

So far, it's only made me respawn a long distance away from where I was. It didn't do anyting to my money or items, and it even seemed to refill my ammo. I don't know if there is any drawbacks to it, but I'm sure you could test it out.
