A. Introduction
###########################

Your probably wondering why I wrote this 4 years after its release. Well
thats because 4 years after its release the Character FAQ section is not
completly full. I'm probably going to try to do a lot of the FAQ's in
section if they don't get completed. Why Android 17 first? you may ask.
Because he is The first one missing in alphabetical order on the list. On a
side note THIS ENTIRE FAQ IS A SPOILER because Android 17 is a secret
character. Anything you find out about Android 17 that you didn't want to, I
am not liable for. If you find anything in this FAQ incorrect, please notify
me at greenkpk@yahoo.com. If I find that your comment is legitimate I
will change it, a give you proper acknowledgment.

July 19, 2005 (1.00) This is my first and most likely my last installment of
this FAQ unless someone finds something that I did wrong
                    and should be fixed.

July 22, 2005 (1.01) Guess I did have to comeback, fixed spelling errors and
Table of Contents and Thanks section.

July 24, 2005 (1.02) I added info on where this FAQ is allowed.

D. Who Is Android #17 ?
###########################

We first see Android 17 in the Android Saga. Android 17 was an android
created by Dr. Gero to carry out his quest to kill Goku. In the future
(Trunks's timeline) Android 17 and 18 have almost completly destroyed
the future world. Trunks went back in time using his time machine to warn
the Z warriors about Android 17 and 18. The Z warriors confront Dr. Gero
when he appears. Fightened, Dr. Gero awoke Androids 17 and 18 only to be
killed by them. From there the androids immediatly have a conflict with
Vegeta. Afterwards, the Androids set out to find Goku. Then a new
character, Cell, is intorduced. Cell aims to be perfect. The only way
Cell can become perfect is to absorb Androids 17 and 18. Piccolo knowing
this tried to destroy Android 17. Piccolo failed and Android 17 was the
first android absorbed by Cell. Android 17 was later used by Cell to try
and trick Android 18 into being absorbed. This is the last time we see
Android 17 in DBZ until the battle with Cell is over and Trunks goes home
and kills the Androids in the future.

In DBGT we see Android 17 agian. The old Android 17 apears inside of hell
for some reason, even though he was supposed to be inside dead Cell. But
anyway, there was another Android 17 on earth (fake android 17). This
version of 17 was created with all the parts that the original 17 didn't
have but also lacked parts the original did have. In order to be more
complete the androids fused together, this opened a temporary portal
between hell an Earth. The new Android was Super Android 17. This time
Android 17 had the ability to absorb energy. Super Android 17 was eventually
defeated by Android 18 and Goku.

1. Special Moves
-------------------------------
Example:

Move Name (Damage) (Double-Blocked Damage)

Coments
-
Power Blitz (#17) (280) (504)
PPPPE (485) (662)
>KPPPE (604) (828)

I highley recomend that you have at least one of these in your capsule tray.
An if you have it double stacked then you can take out almost an entire life
bar with the >KPPPE combo.
-
Energy Feild (#17) (160) (288)
P>PPE (390) (518)
>PPPKE (506) (634)

This isn't all that bad of a move. It is not as powerful Power Blitz but there
is a higher hit rate. If your opponet is close enough to you there is no way
that they can dodge this move.
-
In the following attacks the combo is calculated in with the move.
-
Power Strike (#17) (529) (745)

I think that this move is probably the least worthwile of all the moves that
you can chose for Android 17. This move is stronger than Energy Feild but it
doesn't have the hit rate. I say this because the combo to unleash this move
isn't that easy. If you press forward to early or to late you will do a
different combo and the move will not work.
-
Power Falling Star (#17) (550) (795)

This is a pretty nice move to add to your collection. Its not as worthwile as
Power Blitz but this is still defenitly a good move. Its is relativly easy to
pull of and cannot be dodged as easily. But the downside to this move is that
it costs 2 ki gauges to perform.
-
Buster Swing (#17) (250) (500)

This move is also a must have. Sometimes your opponet is blocking to much or
he knows what to expect next. This is a nice move that you can use to catch
your opponet off gaurd. And when you double stack it, it becomes a lot more
usefull.

2. Exclusive System Capsules
------------------------------
Example:
Capsule Name (Effect)(# of Slots)

Comments

-
The following Capsules are exclusive to Androids 16,17,18 and 19
-

Special Coating (raises the defense of Android 17 by 10%) (1 slot)

Its a good capsule to put on if you have freespace or if you want an extra
edge against your opponet.
-

Improved Special Coating (raises the defense of Android 17 by 20%) (2 slots)

I like this capsule better than Special coating because you can actually
see the difference in you defense. 2 slots is not that bad a price to pay.
-

Nanomachine (raises the defense of Android 17 by 30%) (3 slots)

If you want a high defense but what to have room for other capsules this is
probably your best choice. That is, if you only need four capsule slots left
when your done.
-

Improved Nanomachine (raises the defense of Android 17 by 40%) (4 slots)

If your massivly afraid your ultimate demise put this with a Senzu Bean and
you'll be all set. You could also put this on if your not going to make use
of the death-moves.
-

Androids Barrier (Nulify all opponets Ki Blast Wave) (1 slot)

This capsule is pretty worthless. In order for your opponet to kill with just
ki blast waves you would literally need to be shot 30 times. And that is not
includeing if you have any defense power ups. Most of the time you get 3 ki
blasts shot at you anyway.

3. Normal System Capsules
-----------------------------------
The following Capsules are available to everyone in the game.
-

1/3 Senzu Bean (Regain one life bar after KO) (1 slot)

I have the capsule equiped to all of my characters. Its mostly a back up for
those tuffer battles.
-

Senzu Bean (Recover Life Completly after KO) (3 slots)

This is one of those capsules that can be really good or really bad. The good
part of this capsule is you can last twice as long. The bad part is your
battle can last twice as long from the lack of specials moves to use.
-

Gero's Energy R & D (Ki increase with ki blast deflection) (1 slot)

Don't use this, there will never be enough ki blasts to fill your ki hungery
needs. Unless your friend is trying to button mash the circle button.
-

Gero's Deflection R & D (Deflects ki blasts when gaurding) (1 slot)

This is about as usefull Gero's Energy R&D. This is only relitivly good if
you pair it with Energy R&D and then face your circle button mashing friend.
-

Gero's Deflect-Back R & D (Deflects back ki blasts when gaurding) (1 slot)

This is probably a better choice the Deflection R&D but still I wouldn't
recommend using this capsule either.
-

Viral Heart Disease (Slowly Drains health from both fighters) (1 slot)

This can make for an iteresting battle, or if you only have enought time for
a couple quick rounds of DBZ.
-

Vaccine (Cancels the effect of Viral Heart Disease) (1 slot)

Vaccine should only be used when paired with Viral Heart Disease. This way
your opponets life drops and yours doesn't. This is an easy way to get
through tournement mode. Or an easy way to tick of your friends.
-

Super Holy Water (damage precentage is reduced) (1 slot)

This is just another way to protect your self. I would recomend raiseing your
defence with other items before using this one.

Serious! (strength increase when life drops to 1/3) (1 slot)

This works well when combined with 1/3 Senzu Bean. But otherwise by the time
you reach 1/3 of your life the match is already about to be ended anyway.
-

Serious!! (strength increase when life drops to 1/2) (2 slots)

This is better than Serious! because when your life is at 1/2 you still have
the ability to win. 2 slots might be to much for you by the time you start
thinking about equiping this.
-

Serious!!! (strength increase when life drops to 2/3) (3 slots)

This is good if you know your going to lose your first life bar fast. But
3 slots might be to much to ask of you.
-

Rage! (stength increases for the first 10 seconds of battle) (1 slot)

Oh yay I get to hit my opponet with one punch that is a little bit stronger
than the rest. You wont notice this. Serious! would be better.
-

Rage!! (strength increases for the first 15 seconds in battle) (2 slots)

15 senconds could be long enough to pull of a PPPP but when you hit E
you probably run out of time. Don't use this
-

Rage!!! (strength increases for the first 20 seconds in battle) (3 slots)

This would be the most effective of the 3 rages but, 3 slots for only 20
seconds is not worth it.
-

Potential (strength increases as the battle goes on) (2 slots)

This is probably one of my favorite capsules in the game. You start out with
nearly nothing for an attack power up and after maybe 30-40 seconds you have
an attack power up of 40%. I would definately recomend this over Rage.
-

Super Kami Water (health decreases and attack increases) (1 slot)

This is a really bad capsule to use. You health will most likely drop to fast
for you to even be able to use your tremendous power effectivly. The only way
I can imagen this be worth something is if you equiped it with Viral Heart
Disease and Vaccine. But that would take up 3 slots and there are alot of
other capsules far more worthy of those three slots.
-

Gero's Perpetual Energy R & D (can't transform but ki at max) (3 slots)

This is a nice capsule considering you never have to worry about your energy.
Since # 17 doesn't transform the only really negative thing about this is
that it takes 3 slots.
-

Breakthough (can use all abilities) (7 slots)

And added bonus of this capsule is that all of the abillites work as if they
are double stacked. But after equiping this you will have no more slots left
for anything else.

4. Set Ups
-------------------------------
These are by no means all of the setups you can have for #17. These setups
listed below will have no effect on the looks of your character. The names
I created for the set ups are just for the heck of it.

My Android #17

1/3 Senzu Bean
Power Blitz (#17) x2
Power Falling Star (#17) x2
Buster Swing (#17) x2

As you can see its not very good. But I'm lazy when it comes to button combos
so this is the one that I like to use.

Power

Potential
Serious!!!
Rage!
Super Kami Water

I don't particulary like this one because if super kami water. If I were to
have an alternitive power setup I would switch Rage! and Super Kami Water for
just a Rage!!

Defense

Improve Nanomachine
Super Holy Water
Androids Barrier
1/3 Senzu Bean

I'm pretty sure that this is the higest defense that you can put on Android
17. Me I would take out the last three capsules and replase them with a Senzu
Bean for extreme percautions.

Android #17

Power Blitz (#17) x2
Energy Feild (#17) x2
Gero's Perpetual Energy R & D

This is a good on because it makes use of the Perpetual Energy Capsule. And
you can brainlessly unleash death-moves.

Fake Android #17

Power Stike (#17) x2
Power Falling Star (#17) x2
Buster Swing (#17) x2
Gero's Energy R & D

Why would I call it Fake Android 17. Because the Fake android parts the
origianl didn't, and vice versa. Any this is an amateur setup. Considering
that there is and Energy R & D capsuel in there.

Super Android #17

Power Blitz (#17) x2
Power Falling Star (#17) x2
Potential
Special Coating

Who saw this coming. Any way I consider him to be super because he contains
both parts from the original and the fake. Than there is also the strength
and defense power up. This is the setup I would use if I ever got the
enegy to change it. But its not like that going to happen.
