"An epic finish to one fo the best trilogies ever"
Are you ready to play? This game is one of the best, if not the best games on the Xbox 360. Following on from Halo 2 this game again puts you in the feet of an elite soldier, Spartan 117, the Master Chief, to save humanity and the world from the flood.
Story 10/10 for entertainment 7/10 for length
Halo 2 was a good game. It gave you 13 playable levels. Halo 3 is a better game in the actual gameplay. But it is not better then Halo 2 in the campaign. It only has 9 playable levels. Bit of a drop. It leaves you thinking that Bungie could have added more but it makes up for the smaller campaign with an awesome multiplayer. As I said before, you play Master Chief as you fight through various levels. The goal of the game is simple. Shoot, kill, reach objective. Repeat until next objective. Sounds a bit boring and repetitive doesn't it? Well its not. They are heaps of weapons and many different enemies so you are always fighting differently. Also some levels have areas where you must use vehicles, which is very fun. There are movies in between each level so it gives you a bit of a break after each one. All in all, a great campaign except for the length.
Halo 3 really shines in multiplayer. First off up to 4 people can play cooperatively in the campaign which is a fun thing to do with friends. Then comes the real enjoyable stuff. The same classic matches from previous Halo games are here from slayer, to oddball, capture the flag and even some new ones like infection. There are heaps of maps with more and more being released for download. You can customize all aspects of the maps like weapons, vehicles and power ups. There is even a map editor called the forge! The multiplayer can be played with friends or on Xbox Live. Both ways are fun and I can guarantee you will be spending hours upon hours playing the multiplayer.
The music is similar from the other Halo games and adds some intensity to the game. All the special effects, gun sounds, speaking etc. are great. Not much more to say here.
The game is beautiful. Everything is detailed from the guns, to armor and even the leaves on the ground and all the characters look realistic.
Halo 3 is a beast of a game with a great if not a tiny bit short campaign and awesome multiplayer. I definitely recommend you buy it if you haven't already (which you should have done).
