Can you transfer money or items to another player?

And if so how? I've tried giving gifts in co-op. it doesn't work.

I'm talking about on only one console. Live isn't an option.

The only thing you could possibly do then is let the second profile collect all the money and then quit, hopefully you chose a save point wtith the second so you can reap the money. I've done it for two new saves after the first one had completed the main story. There's no way to transfer items.

Meet them on xbox live:
both of you go to the same location while connected to xbox live and click interact then gift

if you cant see there orb floating around go to obtions and set it so you can see all players (or friends if he/she is a friend) and make the game auto-joinable

Yes. You can't be in a co-op room together, you have to load your game and have them meet you somewhere such as the pub in Bowerstone. Then you highlight the bubble of your friend with the left trigger, and just gift them the money and items.
