How do I open jobs other than blacksmithing?

I read somewhere that you can be a bartender and also that you can be a woodcutter, but all I can do is blacksmithing. Do I have to advance the plot to get the others?

Blacksmithing is becoming really boring, I'm in the beginning at Bowerstone and I'd love to be able to bartend or something to make money for a house or a business to buy.

I'm not sure exactly when each becomes available, but yes, you have to progress in the main story to get those two jobs.
