Question from ShadowNinja238
Why does my new 120 GB hard drive only have 107 GB of free space?
I received a 120 GB hard drive that I purchased from ebay in the mail and after I formatted it it still says I only have 107 GB of free space. My old 20 GB hard drive only had 14 GB of space as well. Why does this happen?
It's because The Xbox 360's Operating System, Game and Dashboard updates and temporary files are using it, you're never going to be able to physically get access to the full 120 Gb so don't even try.

Because it takes up space for everything updates, temp. files, picture quality, the operating system, stuff you need
