The purpose of this guide is to tell you about the items in the
Multiplayer mode of Prey, a new popular shooter for the PC and Xbox360.
All information about the weapons and items relates to Multiplayer only,
not Single Player, since this is after all a Multiplayer guide. There
are a lot of detailed statistics for each item, and some readers might
not understand what everything means. The text below will tell you
about what everything in my guide means. Read it carefully before
reading about each weapon!

NOTE: The information in this guide was written specifically for the PC
version of the game. There might be slight differences between the two
versions of the game, so the information in this guide may not be 100%
correct. Honestly, I doubt that Human Head went through the trouble of
changing some of the weapons to suit the Xbox360 version of the game
better, so you should be fine. Xbox360 readers just have to keep in
mind that the PC version uses the left and right mouse buttons to use
the primary and secondary attacks for each weapon, instead of the left
and right shoulder buttons on the Xbox360 controller.

- PRIMARY AND SECONDARY FIRING MODES:

Each weapon in Prey has a primary and a secondary firing mode. The
two firing modes for each weapon do completely different things.
Firing modes for each weapon share ammo, except for the Auto Cannon.
The Auto Cannon has an ammo meter for it's machine gun, and a separate
one for it's grenade launcher. Click the left mouse button to activate
the primary firing mode and click the right mouse button to activate
the secondary firing mode.

- AMMO:

Obviously, each weapon except for the Wrench has an ammo meter. Firing
your weapon drains points from the ammo meter for the weapon you are
using. When the ammo meter reaches zero, you can no longer use the
weapon. You will have to collect some more ammo for the weapon that
ran out if you want to use it again. The ammo meter is found at the
bottom right corner of the screen.

- RESPAWN TIMES:

After picking up a weapon off of the map, it will disappear, then it
will reappear after a certain amount of time. The amount of time it
takes for the weapon to reappear is called it's respawn time. The
ammo for each weapon and the weapon itself take different amounts of
time to respawn.

- RATING:

This is how good I think the weapon is. The higher the score out of
five, the better the weapon is. A score of one means that the weapon
is useless.

- SHOTS TO KILL:

This number means how many shots it takes to kill someone using the
firing mode for the weapon that I am talking about, if the enemy is
at full health. If the word "Minimum" appears before the number,
then this means that the damage per shot is variable. Under ideal
circumstances, it will take the number of shots listed to kill the
enemy. It could take more shots than listed if the circumstances
are not perfect. The shots needed to kill someone can be less than
the number listed if the enemy has less than full health!

- ACCURACY:

Accuracy means how precise the weapon is. An inaccurate weapon will
shoot projectiles that won't hit exactly where your cross hair is
pointed. A weapon with perfect accuracy will always land it's shots
exactly where the crosshairs are pointed, 100% of the time.

- RANGE:

A weapon with short range can only be used if you are very close to
the enemy. A weapon with long range can be used at any distance away
from the enemy.

- RATE OF FIRE:

A weapon with a fast rate of fire will shoot bullets very quickly.
Rate of fire is measured in RPM, or rounds per minute. The more shots
a weapon can fire per minute, the better it is. The values given are
not 100% precise, but they are very close (within 3-5%). A "continuous"
rate of fire means that there is no delay between shots: the weapon
shoots a constant stream of bullets with no chance of missing if your
crosshairs are passed over the enemy.

                                                                 [WP1]

- PRIMARY FIRING MODE: Normal Swing

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | 3 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Perfect |
+----------------+----------------+
| Range | Short |
+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 120 RPM |
+----------------+----------------+

The primary Wrench attack is the normal swing. Your character will
basically just swing his wrench around, hitting enemies that get too
close to him. The swings are fast, but weak.

- SECONDARY FIRING MODE: Power Swing

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | 2 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Perfect |
+----------------+----------------+
| Range | Short |
+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 60 RPM |
+----------------+----------------+

The power swing is the same thing as the normal swing, except that it
is slower and more powerful. You can charge this swing by holding down
the secondary fire button. When you release the secondary fire button,
your character will swing the Wrench. A charged swing doesn't do any
more damage, but it is faster than an uncharged swing, because charging
cuts off about half of the swing animation.

- AMMO: Infinite

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

You can kill someone quickly using a wrench by hitting someone with a
power hit, then quickly hitting them with a normal hit. Charge your
power hit before you get within range of the enemy, so your swing will
be faster when it comes time to whack them.

You always start with this weapon. Remember to use it if you run out
of bullets, and ONLY if you run out of bullets. While you are running
around with this thing, try to find another weapon or some ammo,
because you are going to die fast if someone catches you with this.

- PRIMARY FIRING MODE: Machine Gun

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | 10 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Good |
+----------------+----------------+
| Range | Long |
+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 350 RPM |
+----------------+----------------+

The machine gun firing mode basically shoots small red projectiles
with a high rate of fire. These projectiles are quite accurate, but
they aren't as accurate as most other weapons in the game. Noobs love
the machine gun. Don't jump on the band wagon with them and start
hosing everyone down with it. Practice using your sniper rifle
instead, even in close range, as it is much deadlier.

- SECONDARY FIRING MODE: Sniper Rifle

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | 2 / 1 | <--- Head shots kill instantly.
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Perfect |
+----------------+----------------+
| Range | Long |
+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 70 RPM |
+----------------+----------------+

Pressing the secondary fire button when using the Rifle will activate
the sniper scope. Press the primary attack button to shoot a sniper
round. Sniper rounds are very accurate and very powerful.

The sniper scope will highlight enemies in bright orange. The scope
is also very zoomed in by default, so I recommend that you zoom out by
using the mouse wheel. When in sniper view, your position will be
revealed because it shines a red laser that can be traced back to you.
Practice using the sniper rifle, because it can be very deadly if used
correctly.

- AMMO:

+----------------+----------------+
| Maximum Ammo | 200 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Starting Ammo | 150 | <--- Number of bullets you start

| Primary Shot | - 1 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Secondary Shot| - 25 |
+----------------+----------------+

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

One sniper shot plus one machine gun shot will kill your enemy. This
means that after you shoot someone with the sniper rifle, and they
don't die, instead of trying to hit them again with the sniper rifle,
just shoot them once with the machine gun. This will kill faster,
since it takes more time to try to hit them again with the sniper
rifle than it does to shoot them once with the machine gun.

There is a short delay from the time that you press your secondary
attack button to the time that you will enter scoped view for this
weapon. During this short delay, scroll down with your mouse wheel.
This will make it so that your scope is zoomed to the minimum amount,
which makes it easier to aim.

When attacked by someone using the sniper rifle, avoid passing over
their red laser beam. This will let you avoid 95% of all sniper shots
fired. If the thing is pointed at your chest, jump. If it is pointed
at your head, duck, then run away. Just don't touch that red laser!

This weapon is your starting weapon, and it requires the most skill to
use. The sniper rifle attack is the only attack that can kill in one
hit, thus I recommend that you practice using it a lot. Never give up
practicing using the sniper rifle, even if you are constantly getting
owned by the spray and pray noobs. One day, you will own them!

Crawlers are little green creatures with three legs. They act as bombs
if you throw one at someone. Throwing a Crawler when it is on it's
back will make it explode about two seconds later. The damage done by
the explosion depends on how close the target is to the center of the
blast.

- SECONDARY FIRING MODE: Sticky Proximity Grenade

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | Minimum 2 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Perfect |
+----------------+----------------+
| Range | Long |
+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 30 RPM |
+----------------+----------------+

Pressing the secondary fire button when you have a Crawler pulled
out will flip the Crawler onto it's stomach. Pressing the secondary
fire button again will return the Crawler onto it's back. If you throw
the Crawler (using the primary fire trigger) when it is flipped onto
it's stomach, it will stick to anything that it hits including enemies.
It will explode whenever someone gets too close to it. You can
detonate a Crawler that you see on the ground by shooting it once with
any weapon. Beware: Crawlers cannot recognize who threw them. Try to
figure out what that means if you get too close to one of your own.

+----------------+----------------+
| Maximum Ammo | 12 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Ammo Pickup | + 1 | <--- Crawlers are found in three's
+----------------+----------------+ or two's.

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

If you bind a key on your keyboard to "Quick Throw", then you can
quickly switch to your Crawlers and throw one of them with the press
of a single key, like you can in the Halo series. You can only throw
timed Crawlers like this. To throw a proximity Crawler, you to
manually switch to your Crawlers, press your secondary fire key, then
throw the Crawler using your primary fire button.

Set proximity Crawlers in two's or three's, because that is how many it
takes to kill someone. Put Crawlers behind corners, or in hard to see
places, otherwise, no one will step over them accidentally. Space
Crawlers out a bit, so that they follow the path that you think your
enemy will take. This is because the enemy can just shoot one, and
all of them will detonate if they are too close.

Primary attack will shoot projectiles, based on what element is inside
of the weapon. When fire is inside of the weapon, you will shoot slow
moving blobs of plasma. It is similar to the Auto Cannon and Rifle
machine guns. When lightning is inside of the weapon, you will shoot
a powerful blast of lightning that is similar to the Quake4 railgun,
except without a scope. When sun is inside the weapon, you will shoot
a thick beam of light that pushes you back. Holding this beam on an
enemy will damage them severely. You don't even have to be very
precise with the sun beam because it is so thick. There is a forth
element, which is ice, but that is in Single Player only.

- SECONDARY FIRING MODE: Absorb Element

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | None | <--- Does no damage.

+----------------+----------------+

Using the absorb element firing mode allows you to acquire a new
element for your gun, if you are near an element terminal. Element
terminals are mounted on the walls or the ceiling, and they have
glowing red (fire), blue (lightning), or yellow (sun) orbs on them.
Get close to the element terminal, point your Leech Gun at the
terminal, then hold down the secondary trigger for about one second.
You will suck the new element into your gun.

You start with the maximum amount of ammo for each element when you
acquire a new element, or if you pick up a new Leech Gun. A new Leech
Gun has fire inside of it. The secondary firing mode has infinite
ammo.

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

If you get the Leech Gun, try to hang out around element terminals.
That way, you will never run out of ammo for your Leech Gun. Don't
do this for too long if you have lightning or sun inside of your gun.
You won't make many friends that way, your sexuality will be
questioned, and you probably won't have much fun because the game will
be very easy. Also, people are going to start avoiding the spot that
you are at if they realize that you aren't moving from it.

The machine gun firing mode for the Auto Cannon is almost identical to
the Rifle primary attack, but it has slight differences. This machine
gun is slightly weaker, it is less accurate, but it has a much higher
rate of fire. The rate of fire increase makes the Auto Cannon machine
gun much better than the Rifle machine gun. Oh yeah, if you hold down
the trigger for too long (4.5 seconds), the weapon will overheat, and
you will have to wait a moment for it to cool off. This machine gun is
best used up close, because it is so inaccurate.

+----------------+----------------+

The grenade launcher attachment is what makes the Auto Cannon so good.
The grenades shot by this weapon travel in a parabolic path due to
gravity. If you are standing on the ceiling or floor, the grenades
may travel in directions other than down, because the force gravity is
in that direction. The damage done by the grenade explosions is based
on how close the target is to the center of the blast. The grenades
detonate on impact with any solid surface, like a player or a wall.

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

Firing modes do not share ammo for this weapon! That means you need
to pick up two different kinds of ammo for this weapon. It isn't such
a big deal, since they are usually found together.

It is possible to fire both grenades and machine gun bullets at once,
but that is a bad idea because you need to aim slightly above your
target for the grenades to hit in long range combat. For point blank
combat, go ahead use both, because you don't have to aim above the
enemy very much. You can try hitting their legs with the machine gun,
and firing the grenades at their feet.

- PRIMARY FIRING MODE: Acid Burst

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | Minimum 2 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Bad |
+----------------+----------------+
| Range | Short |
+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 70 / 35 RPM | <--- Slows down to 35 after four
+----------------+----------------+ shots without pause.

The acid burst firing mode is the real life equivalent of a shotgun.
When the primary trigger is pressed, seven blobs of acid are fired all
at once with bad accuracy. The closer you are to the target, the
better the chance is that all seven blobs of acid will hit. Each blob
that hits the enemy takes away 10% of their health. So, it takes a
minimum of two and a maximum of ten (very unlikely) trigger pulls to
kill the enemy.

After four consecutive shots without pause between them, this weapon's
rate of fire will be cut in half. Launching the canister at the enemy
will restore your rate of fire to full. Or, you can just wait a few
seconds for your rate of fire to be restored automatically. If you
ever want to launch the canister at someone, do it after your rate of
fire for the Acid Burst has slowed down!

- SECONDARY FIRING MODE: Canister Launcher

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | 2 |
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Perfect |
+----------------+----------------+
| Range | Long |
+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 30 RPM |
+----------------+----------------+

The canister launcher shoots the entire glass container of acid at the
enemy. If you get a direct hit with the canister, then the enemy will
take the same amount of damage as if you just hit him eight acid blobs.
The canister will travel along a parabolic path, due to gravity pulling
it down to the ground. If you are standing on the ceiling, then the
canister will fall up, because the force of gravity remains the same,
even when you are stuck to the ceiling.

If the canister misses it's target and hits a wall, it will break and
release the acid inside of it. The acid will bounce off of the wall
that the canister hit at a true angle. You could exploit this by
shooting the canister at a wall, then having the acid bounce off of
the wall and hit an enemy around the corner. If you manage to ever
kill someone like this intentionally, then you deserve a medal.

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

Practice using the canister launcher instead of the acid blast, cause
it is more powerful. After hitting someone with the canister, shoot
them once the acid blast, because the canister will put them down
to about 20% health.

+----------------+----------------+

The rockets shot by this weapon are identical to the grenades shot by
the Auto Cannon, except that these explosives do not follow the laws
of gravity. You can fire one, and it will fly straight forever. Like
grenades, the damage done is the based on how close the target is to
the center of the blast. Try to not hit the enemy directly. Just
make the projectile hit the ground close to them. Try jumping to get
a better angle: this will make it easier to hit the rocket close to
their feet. The straight flight path makes the rockets easier to aim,
which makes them better than the grenades shot by the Auto Cannon.
Obviously, the rockets will detonate on impact with any solid surface.

- SECONDARY FIRING MODE: Shield

+----------------+----------------+
| Shots to Kill | None | <--- Does no damage.
+----------------+----------------+
| Accuracy | Perfect |

+----------------+----------------+
| Rate of Fire | 50 RPM |
+----------------+----------------+

This was the worst thing put into the game, yet still the coolest.
The shield firing mode will put up a cloud of gas the lasts for about
5 seconds. Any projectiles that hit this cloud will be stopped.
You cannot shoot through this cloud, so it is basically just useful
as a temporary cover. It is possible to walk through the cloud, so
try to step through the cloud, quickly fire a shot, then step back.
You could also try to use it to block a shot, but that would require
extremely good reflexes. You could also try firing this to protect
you as you use spirit mode to kill the enemy.

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

You could win the game very easily if you used this weapon for the
whole game. Don't do this though, because it is very lame, and very
cheap. Take turns using the big guns, like you were taught to do in
preschool. Don't bother trying to kill anyone with this weapon head
on. Use your spirit, or shoot them in the back. Just run if you
see someone with this.

This weapon is only available when you are in Spirit Walk mode. To
enter Spirit Walk mode, press whatever button that you have assigned
to it. You will leave your body behind, and you will travel around as
a visible spirit. As a spirit, you can use your bow and arrow to kill
people. The bow and arrow is similar to the sniper rifle firing mode
for the Rifle. The differences are that this weapon is not zoomed in,
it fires slower, and it does not highlight enemies in orange. This
mode is dangerous because your body still takes damage, even if you
aren't there. You can stay in spirit mode as long as you have blue
in your spirit bar (bottom right corner of the screen). If you are
shot as a spirit, you will lose blue from your spirit bar instead of
red from your health bar. Your blue bar will also decrease continuously
just from being in spirit mode at a rate of 2.5% per second. You
don't lose energy from your spirit bar from shooting arrows, so spray
all you want!

- TIPS AND OTHER INFO:

A body that has no spirit inside of it will make a weird noise.
Follow this noise to get to an empty body, which is a free kill. To
avoid having your body found with nothing in it, hide behind a portal.
No one will be able to see you on either side of the portal if you
hide behind it.

You can also try doing a "quick shot". This is when you quickly
switch to spirit mode, fire a shot, then quickly switch back to normal
mode. This should take less than one second. This will allow you to
take a shot as a spirit, without having to stop dead in your tracks
for too long.

Use your spirit in smart ways. If you can hear a guy firing rockets
in the next room, instead of blindly charging in, send your spirit in
instead. Remember, if your spirit dies, nothing happens. If you die,
your enemy scores.

- PURPLE GAS CIRCLE:

Stepping over a circle on the floor that has purple gas coming out of
it will heal ~50% of your maximum health. Be sure to look for these
after confrontations with the enemy, since you will probably be
injured!

Respawn Time: 15 seconds

- INDIAN PIPE:

This is a health power up. It looks like a stick with some feathers
on it. Getting this doubles your maximum health until you die. It
also heals you fully. If you get this, you can't heal yourself using
the purple gas things on the floor until you get below 50% of your
new maximum health. You also won't be able to gain any more health
past 50%. This isn't a problem, because 0.5 x 200 = 100. You aren't
any farther behind.

Respawn Time: 90 seconds

- INDIAN BAG:

Getting the Indian bag will bring your spirit energy up to 100%. It
looks like a brown sack with some string stitched through it at the
top. It must be full of spirit powers or some magic stuff like that.
After picking it up, you can be in spirit mode for 40 seconds, assuming
that you aren't shot as a spirit once.

Respawn Time: 90 seconds

- WHITE SPIRIT ORB:

After killing an enemy, he will drop a white spirit orb. Collect this
to fill up 25% of your spirit meter, which allows you to be in spirit
walk mode for an extra 10 seconds.

Q: What's the best weapon for Multiplayer?

A: Launcher.

Q: Why are there so few weapons in the game?

A: Each weapon has a secondary firing mode. Did you count those, too?

Q: Where did you get the names of the weapons?

A: The control bindings in game menu.

Q: Which weapons are single shot, and which ones are automatic?

A: All weapons are automatic, but they have varying rates of fire.

Q: How did you figure out the rates of fire of all of the weapons?

A: I counted the number of shots that the weapon could fire in one
   minute.

Q: How did you find how much ammo each weapon has?

A: I counted the bullets. This took a long time for the Auto Cannon,
since it has so much ammo.

Q: Why is Multiplayer called Multiprey in this game?

A: Because the developers thought that they were being cute by calling
   it that.

Q: I got the game illegally, how do I play online?

A: You can't play online without a unique CD-Key that you get when you
pay for the game. Unfortunately for you, you can't download a
   unique CD-Key.

Q: I suck so badly at Multiplayer, I need hacks!

A: LOL... this game is easy enough. Good luck with that, this game
has Punk Buster, so if you are caught, your CD-Key is banned.

Q: Are there mods for Multiplayer?

A: Not yet. Human Head studios has yet to release an SDK, and until
they do, no mods for you! Hey cool, that rhymes!
