"Welcome to the Wild, Wild, West"

Introduction

“Welcome to the Wild, Wild, West”. The year is 1880, you have whores, liquor, and rednecks with guns what could be more fun? GUN takes you back to the time were the west was wild, you play as Colten, a young man looking for answers and a little pay back. Travel back into time in this action game to see how the west was won.

Story 10/10

The story is very thorough and well put out. Neversoft did an excellent job. The story plays out like a movie and is very riveting. The side quests that you have the option of completing throughout the game also add a dimension to the story that you should not miss out. Truthfully, I have rated other stories in the past a ten out of ten but none have been as good as this one. Other games now will have to measure up to this one that will be a difficult chore.

Game play 9/10

The game play is good. The controls are easy enough to figure out, and after you get a grasp of what you are doing, shooting enemies should not be very difficult. Also Neversoft added in side quests that allow your character to improve his stats, that is making him a better fighter, horse rider, what have you, which I thought was an excellent idea on their part. It makes you the player want to go through and complete this missions, it makes the game longer and fights easier.

Graphics 5/10

Nothing to write home about; the graphics look like a direct port from another system. For the Xbox 360 one would expect much better graphics for this system. Parts of the characters bodies are blocky and scenery is flat in places. Neversoft really should have spruced this game up for the Xbox 360.

Sound 9/10

The sound is great. Crisp, clear, appropriate for the given moment. The voice actors are great. I cannot express this enough. They hired some great talent for this game. Moreover, the music is just awesome for any given circumstance. They did very well in this category.

Rent or Buy

If you are a fan of the action genre then this is necessary have for your collection. I would recommend buying this for fewer than sixty dollars though. This great game will keep you busy for hours if not days. Of course, if you are not sure then renting this game is always and option and you should be able to find it on multiple platforms. Happy shooting!
