"Come for the visuals, stay for the... ... ... um..."

Show of hands, how many of you played the first Rumble Roses game? Okay, I see a few hands. All right. Well this is the sequel to that game; a wrestling title featuring an all-girl cast of characters, and a high level focus on sensuality.

I'll get right to the review. The graphics are excellent; from the characters to the locales, to even the 3d crowd. The entrances are great, each one different, offering something entirely new. And the woman, which is the game's most prominent focus, actually look realistic enough to be considered "attractive". Unfortunately, that's it for the majority of the game.

The sound's okay, the voice overs are okay, and the music is really good (I especially loved the beat of the Skyscraper area), but then again there's not too much to be said here.

The wrestling is pretty good. Not a whole lot of depth here, and nothing to really keep you coming back for more. There's a lot of good techniques, combos and links, as well as a customization system for various characters where the visual changes you make to your character actually effect them in combat (e.x.: Reiko, when made really muscular, becomes a pro with submissions).

The story is non-existent. There's no story mode; as soon as you select New Game, you select a character are placed in a locker room, and have no guidance but a map which shows various locales. There's no story; which surprised me, considering that the previous title got this part very right.

So would I recommend this game? No, I wouldn't. There's not much too do but fight and unlock purchasable costumes, as well as a digit camera, humiliation games (which aren't all that fan), and basically a lot of nothing.

To buy or rent? Well what do you think? Rent, of course, if anything. With all of these flaws in what at first appeared to be a very promising game, I give this title a six out of ten.
