Can you play on Xbox Live with two people on the same system?

I have poeple over often times to play Xbox360 who have their own Live accounts. The problem is there seems to be very few games that you can play with two people on the same system on Live.

DUde....u have to have 2 profiles......ok...step 2.....make sure they both have the code to play online...... step 3..... sign in the ifrst one as first player......then sign in as player 2 for the player 2 slot... then if u put multiplayer, u will both b there n if u get invited to a party or game or both, u will both b sent in.......(it sucks a lil bit cuz its split screen n it messes up ur vision of the map)

Yes you can one of two can recover their gamertag or you can sign them in on a guest account on the gears of war 2 main menu
