Gamerscore acquired from each achievement is shown in parenthesis.

Rookie (5) - Earn 30,000 points.
Play through Normal mode while making sure you don't die all of your lives.
Playing with other people helps to ensure your whole team doesn't lose all of
their lives. If you lose all of your lives, you will have to start the level
over with zero score.

Veteran (10) - Earn 100,000 points.
Play with other people, making sure not to lose all of your lives. You can
get this in Normal if you don't die all of your lives.

Ace (20) - Earn 185,000 points.
There are several ways of getting this achievement.
The first is by playing through normal difficulty while trying to kill as
many things as possible. Power-ups give 50 score each, so make sure to get
them. This is the least preferred way because if you do get the required
points, you will barely do so.
The second way is to play on normal and get up to the spider boss that shoots
lasers and creates meteorites. When the boss destroys the meteorites,
power-ups will come out. Use the laser power-up to destroy the boss's
meteorites to get 50 points each.
The third way (and hardest) is to play through insane difficulty without dying.
Dying once means the chance for the achievement is lost.
One way to help make this achievement easier is to have a second player (or
just a second controller) and attach the second player to yourself. Have the
second player get the defensive power-ups while you get the offensive ones.
Make sure the second player doesn't attack or they will get your much-needed
points.

Teamwork (15) - Score 10,000 points while attached in a level.
Get 10,000 points while ATTACHED TO SOMEONE ELSE in one level.

Exterminator (15) - Destroy all enemies in a level.
This is best done on level one of normal. Have four players and this
achievement is pretty much guarenteed. Note that the enemies that spawn from
the boss must be killed.
If you don't have four players (or even two), you can do it solo, but it
takes a good amount of skill. Offensive power-ups are a must, and the locations
of enemy spawns are required to be known.

Untouchable (15) - Complete a level without taking damage.
This can be done easily on level one of normal. Either have other players do
all the work, or you can just breeze through the level while holding defensive
power-ups.

Immortal (15) - Complete a level without dying or losing allies.
Stick with defensive power-ups and make sure to watch out for kamikaze enemies.

Diplomat (15) - Complete a level without firing.
Other players are needed for this achievement. Have them do all the work while
you stay back. The game counts running into other ships as firing, so make
sure to avoid the enemies that try to run into you.

Halfway Point (5) - Finish Mission 3 on any difficulty.
Beat mission three on any difficulty. Having other players will help you get
this faster.

Hero (25) - Complete the game on Normal.
This can be done on either single or multiplayer. Single player might be more
challenging, but can still be easily done. For multiplayer, you can just join
a match that starts on level six. Once you beat the level, you'll get the
achievement.

Legend (50) - Complete the game on Insane.
This can be done on either single or multiplayer. Single player is extremely
challenging. You can die, but you'll have to start at the beginning of the
level. For multiplayer, you can just join a match that starts on level six.
Once you beat the level, you'll get the achievement.

Epic Warrior (10) - Form a four-ship (epic) formation.
Have all four players attach to each other.
