WEAPON ORIGINS

The origins are based on the actual weapons, not the origin of the name.

Ambition - The sword your custom character uses in the SC4 opening, but it's
not usable in-game. It belonged to Strife Astlar Grandall from SC3.

Blue Crystal Rod - A key item from Namco's Tower of Druaga series.

Cat Claws - The Mouser's weapon from Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser, but it's 
really just a name for whatever dirk he holds.

Damascus Sword - A special and long lost forging technique was used to 
create the unique wave pattern on the steel blade. In addition, the blade
contains nanotubes, which increase its cutting power.

Embrace of Souls - The result of Soul Calibur lodged into Soul Edge in SC3.

Faust - Siegfried's sword from Soul Edge/Blade.  It broke after he defeated
Soul Edge, who possessed Cervantes's corpse at the time.

Gram - The sword Sigurd used to kill the dragon, Fafnir, and it's sharp 
enough to split an anvil. However, it's really supposed to be a viking 
sword instead of a Zweihander.

Irkalla - Zasalamel's Kafziel that mutated with energies from Soul Edge and
Soul Calibur when he became Abyss in SC3.

Jingu Staff - Sun Wukong, the Monkey King, used this staff. It's made of 
iron, and had the ability to change it's length. It's more accurately 
called the Ruyi Jingu Bang.

Kagekiyo - A weapon from Namco's Genpei Toma Den, also known as The Genji 
and the Heike Clans.

Lightsaber - The funny characters in the extra lightsaber weapons is from
the Aurebesh writing system. To learn more, see this link.

Magical Sausage - Possibly inspired by the SC2 UK commercial.

Masamune - A katana made by Goro Nyudo Masamune. These things are priceless
pieces of art today.  There is a legend where Masamune and Muramasa were put 
to the test to see which sword was better. Masamune won because it contained 
spiritual power that prevents unneccessary bloodshed and violence, unlike 
Muramasa.

Orichalcum - This weapon is made from the legendary metal of Atlantis, and 
it bears the same name as it. It's value is second to gold.

Requiem - Siegfried's default sword in SC1, SC2, and SC3. He used this in
his quest to atone for his sins he caused as Nightmare.

Vajra - A very symbolic weapon that supposedly combines the elements of a 
diamond's hardness and a thunderbolt's unstoppable force.

Valkyrie - A weapon from Namco's The Legend of Valkyrie.
