"The Tales series still remains strong after 10 years!"
Tales of Vesperia is a great RPG for the xbox 360 and it has the same charms as the previous titles in the Tales series. If you are not a big fan of RPG games or Japanese RPG's then don't lose sleep over buying the game or not.
The story in Tales of Vesperia is good but nothing to special, it starts of with one story of hunting a thief but becomes into a bigger story with many twists and turns. The characters have great attitudes and background stories and you will grow to love each character. The main character is a man named Yuri who unlike the normal RPG hero is over 18 and isn't head strong but will do anything for his own sense of justice and to protect people.
Game play 10/10
Amazing, the battle system is great. The battle system is not turn based but is more run around using skills to take out enemies with up to 3 computer allies or by using the multiplayer system you and up to 3 friends can all work together in battle. The graphics are amazing and unique. There is a title system, cooking system and a handful of mini games to enjoy. After doing certain events or a certain acquirement in battle you unlock skits in which the characters talk to each other about what just happened, this can be about the story to cooking. The difficulty can be changed anytime during the game, it's a good challenge but can be even more difficult by changing the difficulty to hard or unknown.
The music in the game is truly great. The music lets you feel the emotion in the part of the story you're up to or the dungeon except for one tune that sounds like a circus and is more annoying then good, luckily it isn't played often. The voice acting is good and not the generic Japanese dubbed games with the voice acting which makes you want to turn the voices off.
Replay ability 8/10
The game's story itself takes about 30-50 hours to complete, but what happens after the story? Well there are side quests of course, with a secret dungeon which puts you through some intense battles. There's also a coliseum which you will want to conquer. Also if you love going after achievements, this game has some which is difficult to do in a short amount of time, so enjoy collecting everything in the game. There's also a new Game Plus that lets you restart the game with half experience, 10x more experience, double money and many more.
A simply amazing game, with the perfect battle system and dynamic environments which never cease to be boring. The Tales series has always been amazing but Tales of Vesperia just oozes with it. Great characters, good fighting, multiplayer, long game with a lot to do what else could a RPG fan want? Like mentioned before if you don't like J-RPG's don't get this game, but if you are looking for a good RPG on the Xbox 360 or any console, get Tales of Vesperia.
