Due to varying circumstances and people giving me tips, I am now going to start
accepting any and all donations that you readers are willing to give. I've

    [INTRO]
    ============================== 2. INTRODUCTION ================================
HI! I'm Blood_XIII, long time user of the GameFAQs site, second time guide
    writer.

Despite all the hate (Read "Trolls") flying around the boards, I find Halo 3:
ODST to be a wonderful game. It may be short and have little to no impact on
the overall story of the Halo universe, but that's neither here nor there.

To most people, Achievements are either the bane of your existence, or an
object of near worship. Seeing as you are now reading an Achievement Guide, I
suppose you are closer to the latter. This guide will, of course, tell you the
finer points of obtaining all the Achievements in Halo 3: ODST. Though I am
missing a few of them myself, I have researched thoroughly the ones I do not
have and carried over some of my best strategies from Halo 3's Legendary
    Campaign.

There are currently 47 Achievements for Halo 3: ODST.
The total Gamerscore for these Achievements comes out to 1000, as usual.

    Fortunately, Bungie took after an idea that Valve had for The Orange Box;
Achievement Tracking. This simple but IMMENSELY helpful feature tells the
player how far along the road they are to an Achievement. For example, if an
Achievement calls for a player to kill 10 enemies in a certain way, and the
player proceeds to kill two enemies in that way, an info box appears on the
left side of the screen, displaying the Achievement's icon, name, and a
progress bar that in the case of this example would read 2/10.

PLEASE NOTE THAT IF YOU HIT A CHECKPOINT WITH THE ABOVE EXAMPLE OF 2/10,
KILL 5 MORE ENEMIES FOR A TOTAL OF 7/10, AND PROCEED TO GET KILLED BEFORE
HITTING ANOTHER CHECKPOINT, YOU WILL RELOAD AT THE PREVIOUS ONE WITH 2/10
AGAIN. IN SHORT, IF YOU DIE, YOUR PROGRESS WILL ONLY REMAIN AS IT WAS AT
    THE CHECKPOINT YOU RESPAWN AT!

I, being an Achievement Hunter/Farmer, ususally play my games on the 360
until I have well over half the Gamerscore available for the game. Since
the beginning of 2009 I have become a near zealot for Achievements. At
the beginning of the year my Gamerscore was barely over 8000, and now
    I'm bordering on 25000.

This is only my second guide, so don't go b*tching about how shoddy it
    probably is.

Due to varying circumstances and people giving me tips, I am now going to start
accepting any and all donations that you readers are willing to give. I've
never done this UP TO this point because I always thought it was pretentious
and douche-ey, so I'm not EVER going to ASK you to donate, I'm only giving you
the OPPORTUNITY to do so if you want. I don't care if you only wanna give me a
penny or if you're loaded and wanna give me $100, it's entirely up to you.

    [GFAQ]
    ======================== 3. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ========================

Okay, so I haven't gotten any questions yet, but I'm going to go ahead and post
the questions that I think I'll hear alot and a few that my close friends have
asked me when they were playing the game.

Q: What the hell are Achievements?
A: ........ I REALLY hope you JUST NOW bought your Xbox 360 if you have to ask.
Achievements are basically awards for completing tasks in the game, These
tasks range from things you have to do anyways in order to complete the
game, to the so far out of the way that you wouldn't have ever thought of
doing them otherwise. They can also be so easy that a newborn can do them,
or so hard that even the best gamers will have trouble with them.

Q: Why should I care about collecting the Achievements?
A: Other than OCD and something to do in your freetime, they can always help
raise your Gamerscore, giving you immense bragging rights over your
friends who will no doubt laugh at you for actually caring. But they're
all stupid, what do they know? They don't appreciate just how LONG it
took to get all that Gamerscore.... We Achievement Hunters/Farmers don't
get any respect from Non-360 owners.

Q: Can you tell me how to beat (Insert level here)?
A: Um... Yeah. I CAN tell you how to beat it, but I'm not going to do so. This
is a guide for the Achievements of the game, and as such the only time I
will bother explaining a level is if that level has a difficult
Achievement attached to it. Just wait for a full walkthrough and until one
is made, just stick to the boards.

Q: This game sucks / You suck / Your guide sucks.
A: That's not even a question, and I sincerely hope that you get hit by a bus.

Q: This game rocks / You rock / Your guide rocks.
A: Not a question, but thank you very much, kind individual. You get a cookie.

=========================== 4. HOW TO USE THIS GUIDE ==========================

Just in case anyone finds my guide a bit confusing, here is a little tutorial
of how to use this guide.

     / \
    / [CODE] Achievement Type \
    \________________________________________/
(This is to notify the reader of which level they are about to see. The "X.X"
represents the Section. [CODE] is to help readers go to a certain section
quickly by using the Find (CTRL+F) function and inserting the brackets and
their enclosed code. I have sorted the Achievemnts by type, hence the
"Achievement Type". This tells the reader that the following Achievements
are all of a similar type (For instance all the Achievements one would get
just playing through the game would be "Campaign Story" Achievements.) Also,
I will provide a brief description of the Achievement type directly below
the box (In other words, where all this text is now)

X.X.X : _____________ (XXg) (The "X.X.X" is the Section Number. The blank
represents the name of the Achievement to be described below. The "XXg"
represents the amount of Gamerscore the Achievement is worth.)

Description: (The exact wording on the Achievement BEFORE the player unlocks
    it)

Obtainable In: _____________ (This will tell the player where they can get the
Achievement. It will list either Campaign or Firefight. NOTE THAT THE
ACHIEVEMENTS THAT READ "CAMPAIGN ONLY" CAN BE OBTAINED EVEN IF YOU START A
LEVEL FROM THE MISSION SELECT SCREEN! THEY CAN ALSO BE OBTAINED WHILE PLAYING
    CO-OP UNLESS OTHERWISE STATED!)

How To Get It: (This will describe, in the greatest detail possible, the
easiest/best way to obtain the Achievement in question)

Turret." It will register as soon as you gain control of Mickey in the Kizingo
    Boulevard level.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Description: Find the final clue unraveling the mystery, alone or with another
    ODST.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: Some people have been having trouble with this one. This should
register when the player gains control during the flashback related to the
last remaining clue (Which, if you've been going after them in the proper
order, will be "Bio-Foam Canister"). HOWEVER! If, BEFORE YOU COMPLETED
CAMPAIGN MODE FOR THE FIRST TIME, you replayed any level by choosing it from
the mission select screen, this Achievement will not register; You will have
to select the first mission and play through the game again if you want the
Achievement. I myself had this problem, so I speak from first-hand experience.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

How To Get It: Upon completing the Coastal Highway mission, which begins as
soon as the player exits the New Mombasa Underground with Dare, Buck, and the
Vergil-Engineer. After beating the level, wait or skip the credits, and select
the option to continue your saved game or just replay a random level. As soon
as you gain control of the character, the Achievement should register. this
Achievement will register and "Last Exit" will be unlocked as a playable level
    for Firefight Mode.

    \________________________________________/

These Achievements ask the player to perform a task in a specific level,
usually the killing of X number of enemies by use of a certain method. You
can try to get these Achievements in a level other than the one required, but
you'll just be wasting your time as they will only register if done on the
    right level.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.2.1: Wraith Killer (5g)

Description: Kill are Wraiths in Uplift Reserve

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: There are 6 Wraiths in Uplift Reserve. Wraiths One and two are
in the area where you first get a Warthog, numbers three and four are in the
middle of the park (The area BEFORE the bridge where you witness the
destruction of the orbital elevator), number five is in the area where you
have to make a sharp U-turn to the right to proceed (This same area has a big
purple Covenant structure that you can easily see as you approach it), and the
final Wraith, number six, is in the last area, right before you have to jump
through the wreckage of the Orbital Elevator and into the city.

There is a catch to this Achievement though; YOU have to kill the Wraiths
PERSONALLY. If a Marine kills one of them YOU WILL NOT GET THIS ACHIEVEMENT
UNLESS THEY ARE IN YOUR VEHICLE WITH YOU! Your best bet is to use that big
green laser of death on them. One shot on Normal should kill a Wraith. There
is a second Spartan Laser safely tucked away in the building located in the
same area as Wraiths 3 and 4 if you need it. If all else fails, you can always
jump on the Wraith and beat down the driver or plant a grenade.

Note that if you are playing Co-op ONLY THE PERSON THAT KILLS THE WRAITH WILL
HAVE IT ADDED TO THEIR TOTAL AND ONLY THEIRS!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.2.2: Both Tubes (5g)

Description: Get 10 Rocket kills on Kizingo Boulevard.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: Not terribly hard. You start this level with a Rocket Launcher,
but it only has two shots in it. IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET 10 KILLS WITH JUST
THESE TWO ROCKETS! Just aim at the middle of a large group of Grunts and
Jackals and watch the blood fly. If you don't get 10 kills with those first two
shots, worry not. Behind the unmanned Scorpion at the start of this level is a
barrier. Behind that is 4 more rounds for your Rocket Launcher. Proceed through
the level until you reach the area with Dutch and the Gauss turrets. As soon
as you enter this area, hop out of your Scorpion tank. Go towards the building
with red patterns (Which has the Gauss turrets on and around it), and you
should see a door that opens to allow your passage. Barely 8 feet into the
following hallway are 4 Rocket rounds for your use. There is also some ammo
upstairs near the newly broken Turret. I have been notified that there are a
few rounds in the building on the left side of the street, and even more at
the exit ofthis same building. Just aim at large groups of enemies and you'll
    get this one easily.

Alternatively, you can give the Rocket Launcher to a Marine and then let him
on your Scorpion. So long as he STAYS ON WHILE YOU DRIVE the kills will count
    as yours!

Another idea is to just start a co-op Kizingo Boulevard from Mission Select,
and take the other person's Rocket Launcher either by letting them die, or
    killing them yourself.

Similar to "Wraith Killer", ONLY THE PERSON THAT KILLS THE ENEMY WILL HAVE IT
ADDED TO THEIR TOTAL AND ONLY THEIRS!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.2.3: Laser Blaster (5g)

Description: Get 10 Spartan Laser kills on ONI Alpha Site.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: Wow, this one is tricky to the newer and lesser skilled players
(No offense to anyone, but the Spartan Laser's charge time really messes
with alot of people.) There are (To my knowledge) only three Spartan Lasers in
the entire level, although it is quite possible to get this Achievement with
only ONE of the Spartan Lasers.

Here's how I did it. As soon as the level starts, do a 180 degree turn and
face the end ot the bridge littered with enemies and three angry Wraiths. If
you're playing on Normal, you can zoom in and take out those Wraiths in one
shot each. You should get three kills apiece for them (One for the driver,
one for the gunner, and [I'm guessing] one for the Wraith itself), which
leaves you with two shots and only one kill remaining! For even better
chances, aim at the Wraith's bottom-front and with a little luck you can lay
waste to whatever infantry was infront of it as well.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.2.4: Dome Inspector (5g)

Description: Get 15 headshot kills on NMPD HQ.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: This one is painfully easy compared to the last three. You start
the level with a Sniper Rifle and 17 rounds AND a fully loaded pistol, so
just take aim at a Covenant head (Preferably a Grunt or Jackal, since they
drop with a single shot) and fire away. Halo 3 veterans will remember that a
small dot appears in the center of one's crosshair when the enemy's head is
targeted. If you see that dot, unload a round into that ugly head. If you run
out of bullets before you get the Achievement, do not fret. Upon setting foot
on the second rooftop Buck will say that there are Jackals with Carbines up on
the stairs. Go onto the raised area to the right (the place where the Plasma
Turret was firing at you from) and you will see a dead body that has 8 Sniper
rounds near it. Also, you will eventually run through a room that has a
squared in area in the middle of it, along with a bunch of dead policemen.
Within that same room is over 30 rounds for your Sniper Rifle.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.2.5: I Like Fire (5g)

Description: Kill 10 enemies with the Flamethrower on Data Hive.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: Yes, I REALLY DO like fire... Anyways, Bungie decided to get a
bit crafty with this one. The Flamethrower is placed just slightly out of your
way, so you will not find it if you don't stray from the path a bit. Drop down
into sub-level nine (The second time you jump through a hole in this level) and
proceed as normal. After a turn in the path takes you to the left, you will
notice that the area is suddenly becoming frosted over. Ahead you should see a
big box vent thingy that sits upon a raised section of the floor that forms a
+/cross shape (You know it's the right place if you approach the door on the
left and Vergil mentions something about a crime scene... More on that later).
Past this box you should see two Drone bodies. Move past the one on your right
and right behind the small glass barrier is the all-powerful Flamethrower!

Now that you have it, all you have to do is kill 10 things with it, which
requires almost 100x LESS EFFORT THAN IT REQUIRES TO EVEN SAY "FLAMETHROWER"
IN THE FIRST PLACE! A blast lasting just short of a second can take down a
fully armored Brute on Heroic. If you are careful and conserve your ammo by
firing extremely short bursts, you can easily keep this weapon until you meet
    up with The Engineer.

    \________________________________________/

Anyone who has read the Halo books knows these creatures of hauting, yet
serene beauty quite well. Engineers WILL NOT DIRECTLY HARM YOU! The only way
an Engineer can ever kill a player is if the explosive charge placed on them
falls on or near the player upon the Engineer's death/self-destruction Either
way, there are only two Achievements related to them, and they WILL REQUIRE
TWO PLAYTHROUGHS if you want both.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.3.1: Good Samaritan (20g)

Description: Killing things that are new and different is bad, alone or with
    another ODST.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: You know those aliens that float above the groups of Covenant
roaming the streets of New Mombasa? Those are Engineers. For this Achievement,
Simply DO NOT KILL ANY ENGINEERS WHILE PLAYING AS THE ROOKIE IN THE NEW MOMBASA
STREETS! One will notice that if you kill the Head Brute of the group the
Engineer is in, the poor floating alien will self-destruct; THIS DOES NOT COUNT
AGAINST YOU! If done correctly, This Achievement will register upon the
beginning of the Data Hive Mission. YOU MUST PLAY FROM THE BEGINNING MISSION
ALL THE WAY TO DATA HIVE FOR THIS ACHIEVEMENT TO REGISTER!

Killing Engineers in the flashbacks of other ODSTs DOES NOT count against this
    Achievement.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.3.2: Naughty Naughty (5g)

Description: Killing things that are new and different is good, alone or with
    another ODST.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: You know those aliens that float above the groups of Covenant
roaming the streets of New Mombasa? Those are Engineers. For this Achievement,
just kill 10 of the defenseless critters. Be forwarned though, they have ALOT
of health and it does regenerate, which is bad for you, since they REALLY like
float JUST out of your range while it does so. Your best bet is to either plant
a sticky or incindiary grenade on them (Easier said than done) or just beat
them down. I've also heard that a fully charged Plasma Pistol will kill them
in one shot on any difficulty. Just remember that their self-destruction
    mechanism REALLY hurts.

    / [CCOA] Campaign Completion Achievements\
    \________________________________________/

The only foreward for these introductions is that some people are having
problems getting them to register. Similar to Super Sleuth, replaying any
level before you have completed the Campaign for the first time can mess these
Achievements up. Just play through the Campaign again and that should do it.

    :NOTE:
THE CAMPAIGN COMPLETION ACHIEVEMENTS ARE STACKABLE! THIS MEANS THAT IF
YOU BEAT THE GAME ON LEGENDARY YOU WILL ALSO GET THE ACHIEVEMENTS FOR BEATING
    IT ON HEROIC AND NORMAL!

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.4.1: Campaign Complete: Normal (100g)

Description: Complete the Campaign on Normal difficulty.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: This should be the difficulty you played on your first time
through. If not, then get on the ball and do it already!

After beating the last level, wait or skip the credits, and select the option
to continue your saved game or just replay a random level. As soon as you
gain control of the character, the Achievement should register.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.4.2: Campaign Complete: Heroic (100g)

Description: Complete the Campaign on Heroic difficulty.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: About twice as hard as Normal. Expect greater resistance from
all your enemies and try not to rush it, otherwise you'll just end up another
bloody smudge on the pavement. Play as you did on Normal, only with a bit more
caution and strategy in your movements and you should do fine. Two player
co-op is recommended, or even just the use of a second controller and profile
to sit, unmanned and in safety, as a nice respawn point.

After beating the last level, wait or skip the credits, and select the option
to continue your saved game or just replay a random level. As soon as you
gain control of the character, the Achievement should register.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.4.3: Campaign Complete: Legendary (100g)

Description: Complete the Campaign on Legendary to unlock a new Firefight
    character.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: Probably three or four times harder than Heroic. Expect Death
around every pebble on the ground and DON'T EVER FEEL SAFE! If you see no
chance of battling through a warzone, just dash past and hope for the best
(THIS DOES WORK FROM TIME TO TIME AND THE LESS CONFLICT THE BETTER!). Two
player co-op is highly recommended, but don't try the unmanned respawn point
on "Legend-scary," otherwise you'll just end up breaking a controller. Four
player co-op on LIVE is even better, but for your own sanity, do it with
people who are going to take it seriously and don't completly suck at the game.

After beating the last level, wait or skip the credits, and select the option
to continue your saved game or just replay a random level. As soon as you
gain control of the character, the Achievement should register AND you will
unlock Dare for use in Firefight mode! RECON FTW! Wait, but I hate the Recon
    Armor...

And yes, there is a Legendary Ending.

/ [AULA] Audio Log Achievements \
    \________________________________________/

The Audio Logs are scattered throughout the city of New Mombasa, and can ONLY
BE FOUND WHILE PLAYING AS THE ROOKIE, ROAMING THE STREETS BETWEEN MISSIONS
(With the exception of the last Audio Log). It helps to keep your VISR active
AT ALL TIMES while you are searching for the Audio Logs, since they show up
outlined in sunshine yellow when it is turned on. Also be on the listen for
ringing phones, talking terminals, and (occasionally) Optican Kiosks.

The Audio Logs tell the story of Sadie, the daughter of Dr. Endesha, who
programmed the subroutine "Vergil" into New Mombasa's Superintendent A.I.

I have also heard that there are some terminals that are ONLY ACTIVE if you
select Mombasa Streets from Mission Select.

I have been informed that ALL THE TERMINALS EXCEPT FOR #30 are active at the
same time, meaning they CAN BE FOUND IN ANY ORDER! The Audio Log itself will
ALWAYS be the next one in the sequence.

Also note that SOME PEOPLE have been losing their Audio Log progress when
selecting Mombasa Streets from level select.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.5.1: Listener (5g)

Description: Find the first Audio Log.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: The earliest one can discover the first Audio Log is after
completing Tayari Plaza. Head down to the bottom of the plaza where Dare's pod
rests. Looking at the INSIDE of her pod, look slightly to your right and head
towards the stairs on that wall. When you reach them take the stairs on the
right, and at the top of the do a 180 degree turn. If you have you VISR on, you
should easily see the first Audio Log.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.5.2: Tuned In (15g)

Description: Find 3 Audio Logs, alone or with another ODST.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: The Audio logs take about 3 hours to find on your own (Unless
you're really good at finding well-hidden, scattered objects). I vaugely
remember the location of all the audio logs, but I'm not about to list them all
one by one, so just use this map. It's MUCH better than any directions I
could give, AND IT'S EVEN GOT SCREENSHOTS!

That aside, I can easily say where to find the last Audio Log. Once, AND ONLY
ONCE, you have found all other 29 Audio Logs can you find number 30. In the
level Data Hive, proceed all the way to where you drop down to sub-level nine.
Normally when you drop down, the policeman following you gets trapped above
you, and it is heavily implied that he gets mauled by Drones. However, if you
have 29 Audio Logs, he drops down safely with you! As you proceed around the
corner and kill all the enemies, the policeman syas he has to take care of
something. Well that sounds inviting. He approaches the door opposite the path
you normally proceed. Vegil tells the two of you that it's a crime scene, but
the policeman commences to (Rather rudely) order Vergil to open the door.
Vergil obliges and the policeman tells you to stand gaurd outside. Silly man,
doesn't he realize that the best way to guard a room is from inside the room
to be guarded? Follow him into the room and... Oh, we were supposed to wait
outside? What's that body on the far-left side of the room doing down here?
You worked for Kinsler? We know too much? HEY NOW! Shoot me one more time and
see what hap-... OH THAT'S IT! (Yeah, go ahead and kill him) Activate your
VISR if you haven't already and look at the wall to left of the body. Is that
sunshine yellow outling I see? Yes it is! Audio Log number 30, you elude us no
longer! (By the way, yes, that is the body of Sadie's father)

    \________________________________________/

Ah, Firefight. No doubt inspired by the "Invaision" gametype of Unreal
Tournament (Don't attack ODST for copying either, because the Nazi Zombies from
COD did it too). Wave after wave of enemies, each one stronger than the wave
before it. I can't go into alot of detail on these Achievements because I have
no internet where I live, so I have no personal experience with Firefight over
Xbox LIVE, nor have I bothered to play a set on every map. I do however, have
my own views from what I have played of Firefight by myself and with my
friends, not to mention all the helpful tips on the boards and the massive
amount of epic Firefight videos on the web.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.6.1: Firefight: Crater (10g)

Description: Score over 200,000 points in Firefight on Crater.

    Obtainable In: Firefight ONLY.

How To Get It: With four people playing together, these Achievements are cake.
Kill as many enemies as you can, as fast as you can, to keep your multiplier
going. Double, Triple, and Overkills are more common than dead bodies in
Firefight, so just keep killing and killing. The longer you and your team last,
the higher your score will be. As long as you all stay alive, you can keep
fighting forever, so these Achievements really just come down to how much time
you want to spend on the game. I've only obtained a few and most of them were
done on the EASY DIFFICULTY WITH THE HELP OF MY 10 YEAR-OLD COUSIN! Below are
    a few tips.

    - You'll get Medals for certain numbers of enemies that you've killed. An
"Invincible" Medal (100 kills without dying) rewards a base of almost 1200
points, but (As far as I know) there is nothing higher. So once you get the
"Invincible" Medal (Permitting you have a comfortable amount of lives)
allow yourself to be killed so you can re-obtain the Kill Count Medals,
along with all their point value, yet again.

    - A good, but somewhat cheap strategy is to Splatter 10 enemies (5 gives you a
"Splatter Spree" Medal [Worth a good 1000+] and 10 nets you the "Vehicular
Manslaughter" Medal [Around 1500 or so.].), and then jump out (Or use the
Ghost/Chopper's guns) and kill a single enemy. This will end your Splatter
Spree/Vehicular Manslaughter, thus allowing you to obtain Splatter Spree and
Vehicular Manslaughter AGAIN. Repeating this process over and over will get
      you to 200,000 rather quickly.

    - Bonus Round strategy changes depending on difficulty. On EASY, all players
should cover SEPERATE AREAS to avoid running out of Grunts to kill, and if
all of you have Hammers don't be afraid to use them here. NORMAL players can
follow a similar strategy, but I wouldn't spend too much time around the
explosions, so use of the Pistol, Carbine, or similar ranged weapon with a
scope is recommended. Those playing on HEROIC should NOT charge into the
Grunts without good reason, so just stick to your guns (If you have some, a
turret or two can work wonders here, mounted or not). If you're braving
LEGENDARY you should NOT EVER BE NEAR A GRUNT UNLESS IT COMES TO YOU! Keep a
VERY GOOD distance and if you get surrounded just toss a grenade REGARDLESS
of what you have selected. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHOULD ANY PLAYER MAN A
VEHICLE THAT IS WITHIN A GRUNT'S THROWING DISTANCE OR HAS AN EASILY
ACCESSIBLE PASSAGE FOR A SUICIDE GRUNT TO RUN THROUGH!

    5.6.9: Be Like Marty (10g)

Description: In Firefight, finish a full round without killing a single enemy.

    Obtainable In: Firefight ONLY.

How To Get It: Exactly what it says, just run and hide. If something gets too
close, run away some more. Luckily this Achievement doesn't get into specifics,
which not only means that it's okay if you die a few times, but it also allows
you the choice to put the difficulty on Easy and stay out of the action for
just the first round (Since it's the least populated with alien unfriendlies).
BUT PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF WHATEVER GOD YOU PRAY TO, TELL YOUR TEAMMATES THAT
YOU WANT TO TRY FOR THIS ACHIEVEMENT BEFORE YOU GO AND DISAPPEAR ON THEM!
HAVE YOU PEOPLE NO SENSE OF COURTESY?!

Also, I've learned that it is possible to do this Achievement by yourself.

    / [VMCA] Vidmaster Challenge Achievements\
    \________________________________________/

The Vidmaster Challenge Achievements are regarded as the hardest Achievements
in both Halo 3 and ODST. There are seven of them in all; Four in Halo 3 and
three in ODST. If you can manage to obtain ALL SEVEN ACHIEVEMENTS you will
unlock the near mythological Recon Armor for use in Halo 3 multiplayer.

While I don not have any of these Achievements (I don't have internet where I
live, and even if I did I don't have a Gold Account right now), I have
successfully tested them multiple times alone and with friends, not to mention
watched a few videos on the web.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.7.1: Vidmaster Challenge: Classic (25g)

Description: Finish any level solo on Legendary, on LIVE, with no shots fired
    or grenades thrown.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: This one is actually much easier than it sounds. Start a game on
Uplift Reserve. Be careful not to accidentally hit the triggers and proceed
until you get to the Marines by an overturned Warthog. Flip that sucker over,
get in, and DRIVE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT! Don't stop for ANYTHING less
than the absolute need of a new vehicle. With a bit of luck (And practice) you
can have this Achievement in less than 10 minutes. Fortunately for those who
have bad luck, you can die as many times as you want while attemping this
one. It is also advisable that you occupy the empty Ghost after passing the
first two Wraiths (Or jack one if that one is somehow dead) since the boost
helps alot; Just remember not to shoot!

I also gather that it is advisable to give your Spartan Laser to a Marine and
let him in the side seat of your 'Hog. Marines have good aim, unlimited ammo,
AND their shots don't count against you.

    MAJOR IMPORTANT NOTE!
WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING THE WARTHOG, DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT BLOW THE HORN! THE
HORN COUNTS AS FIRING A SHOT!
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
5.7.2: Vidmaster Challenge: Deja Vu (25g)

Description: Complete Highway on 4-player Legendary LIVE co-op, with Iron, and
    no ‘Hog or Scorpion.

    Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY.

How To Get It: You'll note that the description says nothing about the use of
Ghosts. That is the key to getting this Achievement. Be sure, before
attempting this Achievement, that the other three people you are playing with
can keep a cool head and have a decent amount of patience, cuz this one is
gonna be hell. Getting through the downtown area isn't even the hard part.
Once you hit that highway, that's where your trouble starts. It'll be tough
at first, but once somebody gets a Ghost, it starts to ease up. Ghosts can
show up as early as the section of the highway you would normally get the
Gauss Warthog. If you can get two or three or (with a TON of luck) all four
people in Ghosts, this Achievement becomes very much easier than before.

I've also gotten word of some special Mongooses (Mongeese?) that make this
Achievement quite easy. Here's Robert Scheiderer's description, it's probably
    better than my own.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"For Deja Vu when you first get to the highway the first underground tunnel you
come up to has two mongoose and 4 rocket launchers, each with 998 rounds and 2
in the tubes, so 1000 rounds a piece. Also when you get close to the vehicles
the old Halo CE theme plays from Truth and Rec, the rock anthem one."
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I've also HEARD that it's possible to get Warthogs and Ghosts over the
barrier at the end of the exit ramp. Scorpions WILL NOT make it through
because of an invisible barrier. I do not yet know about getting a Mongoose
    over the barrier.

After that, you all just have to hold out for the final battle and the
    Achievement is yours.

This Achievement is called "Deja Vu" becuase of the "Vidmaster Challenge:
Annual" Achievement from Halo 3. That Achievement called for four players to
beat the last level on LIVE, on Legendary, with the Iron Skull active, and
everyone in Ghosts at the end of the level.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.7.3: Vidmaster Challenge: Endure (25g)

Description: In Firefight, on any mission, pass the 4th Set on 4-player Heroic
    LIVE co-op.

    Obtainable In: Firefight ONLY.

How To Get It: Contrary to what the Trolls say, Bungie DOES NOT have a "Lag
Switch" that they activate when you are 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, or ANY NUMBER OF
ENEMIES AWAY FROM THIS ACHIEVEMENT! IF THE GAME LAGS IT IS BECAUSE OF SOMEONE'S
@#$%^&* SHODDY CONNECTION! Go yell at whichever person pays the least for their
internet. Smart money is on it being their fault, not Bungie's. The best that
I've managed to pull on this one is 3 and 1/2 sets, then the team went into
orbit from the mad assault by about 10 or 12 Cheiftans with Hammers and Fuel
Rod Guns, but I've gotten a TON of different ways to get this one. Here is an
    example of the most common.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"Do the Lost Platoon map with 4 people.
This is how they should start off:
Have 1 person use the Spartan Laser to take out the Wraiths(he should
keep a Sniper Rifle as well to help pick off enemies)
Have 2 people get in the Warthog drive around killing enemies trying
to a Chopper for the 4th person
the last person then gets in the chopper and takes out as many enemies
    as he/she can.
Tell the people in the warthog to try and only kill the driver of any
more choppers, as they can save them for when the warthog blows up.
tell them to keep the choppers in the spartan laser room. they then
can use the chopper for the bonus rounds or use them while the wait
    for the new chopper.
have the person with the chopper, park the chopper in the laser room
when there are buggers and help the laser/sniper guy or he can hop on
a SPARE chopper and kill some buggers."
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

However, here is the best one I've gotten yet.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
"The best map is Alpha Site. I don't care how hardcore your warthog
driving skills are. You go to Alpha Site. Now the Map is like a big X.
Two team mates start on each end of the bottom part. Now you guys stay
there where you spawn. You should be on top of some stairs. Now If you
look down them and on you should see outside. A path to the outer
world. You and your teammate on your side shoot down those corridors
killing whatever is stupid enough to come down it. :P Continue on to
    5th set :D

    Now for enemies.

Grunts and Jackals: Pop them in the face with a scoped pistol only.
    Easiest way.

Brutes: Plasma Pistol or Rifle those $#@%ers so there is no shields.
You have about 3 seconds till they gain back stamina so quickly shoot
them in the head with a well aimed Pistol shot.

Fuel Rod Chieftain: OK this is just a grinder for me. Everyone unloads
on him with metal and plasma hoping for a quick kill. Sorry :(

Hammer Chieftain: OK he is very easy to kill. Have a designated Hammer
killer. Have them shoot him to get his attention. It does not matter
if invincibility is activated or not. He will still die. So attract
him to you and when he runs at you run at him. WHAT!?!?! Sounds
suicidal but when you get close side step and go behind him and chase
him. He should have smashed the air and now with his back facing
you...well :). INstant kill and free hammer. :D

Drones: THE MOST ANNOYING $#@%ERS IN THE GAME!!!!! For the first 3
sets use sub-machine gun. Easiest way to kill them. 4th set use the
Plasma rifles. Or a combo is better.

Hunters: Big boys. Now very easy too but requires cooperation. Have
one group distract him. The other group, one of them takes the sniper
and with his back facing your readied barrel blast his @$$ back to
planet Jack@$$ as Dutch says. :P Very easy just more bullets in later
    rounds.

BONUS ROUND: This is also very easy to do! Now we have two platforms
above the empty elevators you should have noticed. Having B-day skull
on helps for explosions. Now they will come out of shafts up there.
With your pistols pop at them and have fun. Might get a killionare :)

Now that you know you should have enough information. I learned the
strategies for the monsters through my own experience.

Happy hunting. Please give credit to the thread on BUNGIE for the
strategy and the creature killing to me. Thank you.

Other notes: Communication is very important and it should take only 2
    hours for this map."
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Regardless, this Achievement will easily take around two or three hours to get.

    / [MISA] Miscellaneous Achievements \
    \________________________________________/

While very easy and not worth much Gamerscore, These Achievements did not fit
into any of the other categories, thus they ended up here. I have listed them
    in alphabetical order.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.1: Boom, Headshot (5g)

Description: Get 10 automag headshot kills in any level.

    Obtainable In: Campaign + Firefight.

How To Get It: "Automag" refers to the pistol; That beautiful weapon that came
back from Halo: Combat Evolved, and is still one of the best guns in the Halo
Series... Moving right along though, just get 10 headshot kills with it
ANYWHERE in the game for this Achievement, and yes, anywhere means Firefight
    as well.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.2: Dark Times (5g)

Description: Kill 5 enemies while using VISR mode.

    Obtainable In: Campaign + Firefight.

How To Get It: You should get this one by accident. Playing as The Rookie in
the streets of New Mombasa, you practically have to have the VISR active at
all times just to see what the fsck you're doing. If you don't have it, just
start the New Mombasa Streets mission. Upon gaining control of The Rookie, hit
the "X" button, and just go kill 5 Grunts. Achievement earned.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.3: Ewww, Sticky (5g)

Description: Get 5 sticky grenade kills in any level.

    Obtainable In: Campaign + Firefight.

How To Get It: This can be a tad tricky since the enemies in ODST seem REALLY
adept at dodging grenades. Grunts seem to be the easiest (My first stick in
ODST was on a Grunt who ran away screaming "HOW IRONIC!") Just plant 5 Plasma
OR Spike grenades on some kind of Covenant and watch the body fly.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.4: Headcase (5g)

Description: Finish any level with at least one Skull activated.

    Obtainable In: Campaign + Firefight.

How To Get It: It seriously means any skull...
    No, seriously...
    ANY SKULL.
Just turn on Grunt Birthday Party and beat a level of your choice. You don't
even have to headshot a Grunt and hear the kids cheering and watch the funny
confetti fly everywhere, just beat the level and this Achievement isn't even
    worth remembering.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.5: My Clothes! (5g)

Description: Plasma Pistol overcharge and qucikly kill 10 Brutes.

    Obtainable In: Campaign + Firefight.

How To Get It: ALTHOUGH it says "Brutes" you can also get this from the Jackals
that use Energy Shields. Just grab a Plasma Pistol from some dead Covenant sap,
charge it up, unleash it on a Brute or Shield Jackal, then run behind them and
melee them in the back...Or just beat their face in... Or just switch weapons
and unload on them... Whatever method you use, you have about 1.5 seconds to
kill your target after the Plasma hits them. You can also get this one using
Power Drains. So long as the Brute's armor falls off and you kill him quick,
    it'll count.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.6: Pink And Deadly (5g)

Description: Get 10 Needler supercombine kills on any covenant

    Obtainable In: Campaign + Firefight.

How To Get It: Grab a Needler, find a target, fill it full of needles until it
explodes in a pink cloud of hurt. Repeat nine more times and you become the
master of Pink Death... Well you get an Achievement anyways.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.7: Stunning! (5g)

Description: Stun a vehicle with an overcharged plasma pistol and quickly kill
    the driver.

    Obtainable In: Campaign + Firefight.

How To Get It: Similar to the "My Clothes!" Achievement. Just fire a fully
charged Plasma Pistol at an enemy vehicle. The vehicle will become filled with
uncontrollable self doubt as to whether or not it is truly a vehicle before
deciding that it is actually a giant Shark with wheels. While the vehicle
tries to figure out how it escaped the ocean and is able to breathe outside
the water, run up and melee the driver in the back of his head... or the
front... or just shoot him... As long as he's dead before the vehicle comes
back to it's senses, you have one more Achievement in your Library... Now take
that Chopper-Shark back to the sea before he suffocates.

An alternative method is that if a nearby Brute throws a Power Drain and thus
stuns a vehicle OF HIS OWN ALLIANCE and you proceed to kill the driver, this
    Achievement will trigger.

By the way, I have heard that you can get this Achievement through a glitch
where if a Brute stuns YOUR VEHICLE AND THEN KILLS YOU it will regiser!
However, this does not work everytime.
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    5.8.8: Trading Down (5g)

Description: Trade weapons with a fellow character.

Obtainable In: Campaign ONLY (You can't "trade" weapons with Player-Controlled
    characters).

How To Get It: Find an A.I. that's allied with you (The reticle will turn
green when moved over them). Switch to or find a weapon you don't care for and
walk up to them. You will be given the option to hold RB to trade weapons with
them. Do so and the two of you will exchange weapons and the A.I. will usually
say something insulting or negative about the trade...

Buck: Is this thing even loaded?!

No Buck, It's not. Here, I've got a few extra bullets for you (BLAM!)
Oh I'm sorry, was that your face? Well, you wanted more bullets!

My E-mail Address is Hellsharingan13@yahoo.com, this is also my YIM address.
My Gamertags are xBloodXIII and xBlood13, I will accept all friend requests,
but don't expect to see me on much, since I have no internet where I live.

(In case you're wondering why I have two Gamertags, it's because Microsoft
decided to lock my Gold privileges on my first account [xBloodXIII] because of
an idiotic misunderstanding on their part related to my Payment Method. As such,
I use xBloodXIII for communication and my ever growing Gamerscore, and xBlood13
    to play on LIVE.)

If you send me an E-mail, be sure to put something like "Halo 3 : ODST
Achievement Guide". I get nearly 200 E-mails in a week, and since I have
no internet where I live, I can only get on when I go to a coffee shop about 10
miles away (I live in the fricking middle of nowhere in Kentucky... Go figure),
So I only get online about once, twice, maybe three times a month. So if you
don't title it properly IT WILL NOT BE SEEN.

THE NEWEST VERSION OF THIS GUIDE WILL ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS BE ON
GAMEFAQS.COM/GAMESPOT.COM, SO REFER TO THE GUIDE THERE BEFORE SENDING ME ANY
    INFORMATION OR QUESTIONS!

PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE GUIDE BEFORE SENDING ME QUESTIONS! I WILL NOT ANSWER A
QUESTION THAT I HAVE ALREADY GIVEN THE ANSWER TO WITHIN THIS GUIDE!
