Grand Theft Auto IV: The Lost and Damned
Review by VesperLynd93
"A Must Have for Anyone With GTA IV!"
The Lost and Damned follows the story of Johnny Klebitz, a member of the motorcycle gang "The Lost" based in Alderney, a state adjacent to Liberty City. Johnny is the vice-president of the gang and currently in charge while their leader, Billy Grey, is in rehab. In his time as leader, Johnny has pursued truces and civil relationships with the other motorcycle gangs, believing it most beneficial for the gang and an opportunity to maximise profits in drug deals, but Billy is soon released and resorts to his violent tactics, believing that slaughtering their enemies is the way forward. Johnny and Billy clash over the leadership and direction of the gang, while having to defend themselves from attacks by rival gangs, such as the "Angels of Death".
At several points throughout the course of the game, the plot intertwines with events from Grand Theft Auto IV and are seen and played out from Johnny's perspective. The Lost and Damned features similar gameplay to Grand Theft Auto IV. Additions to the game include new weapons, such as a grenade launcher and pipe bombs, as well as sawed-off and automatic shotguns and new vehicles, such as Johnny's custom-made motorcycle. However, in this game, motorcycle handling seems a lot easier than any other vehicle handling.
I downloaded this today and beat it about eight hours later - not long at all, hell even GTA IV was longer, but that's not the point. You get so much more, not to mention the endless free-roam stuff you do at any time and once you finish the story missions. Not only can you start the game from the beginning as well, but you can hang out with friends, do activities, and everything else just like the main GTA IV game.
There's a handful of new and impressive things, including the addition of weapons, vehicles, and characters. There's new songs on the radio stations and new in-game television programs as well as a new comedian at the Split Sides comedy club in addition to Katt Williams and Ricky Gervais.
There's an amazing new selection of vehicles to choose from, and new weapons that'll blow the rest out of the water. However, there aren't any new clothes to buy for Johnny, but that's not much of a big deal compared to what you get with the add-on.
All in all, I recommend this add-on to Grand Theft Auto IV to anyone who has the game and is looking for more fun, or anyone who's thinking about getting the game and wants more out of it.
