                                    INTRODUCTION
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Terror Is Reality is the multiplayer mode for Dead Rising 2. You and three
other players are participants in the 17th event of the series, which is
titled Payback. Your host is Tyrone King (TK), and the off-color commentary is
provided by Don Andrews and Paul "The Mauler" Lazenby.

The menu options for the mode are as follows:

RANKED MATCH - You _must_ play ranked matches to earn money and achievements.
PLAYER MATCH - Play an episode of Terror Is Reality for fun, or with friends.
XBOX LIVE PARTY - Join friends playing DR2 in a game or lobby.
LEADERBOARDS - The sole leaderboard is measured by money earned in Ranked TIR.
CASH OUT - Transfer your ranked winnings to a new or existing game save file.

Terror Is Reality has several benefits to its gameplay: making money for
single player, unlocking clothing exclusive to this mode, and getting
    achievements to brag about.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
                                    EPISODE FORMAT
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Each episode is broken down into four rounds of minigames. After the first
three rounds are completed, the first place player leads off the fourth round,
which is always Slicecycles. After the fourth round, the points are tallied,
    and the winner is congratulated.

The following are the six playlists:

    Ramsterball->Ball Buster->Headache->Slicecycles
    Ramsterball->Bounty Hunter->Stand Up Zomedy->Slicecycles
    Ramsterball->Pounds Of Flesh->Master Shafter->Slicecycles
    Zomboni->Ball Buster->Headache->Slicecycles
    Zomboni->Bounty Hunter->Stand Up Zomedy->Slicecycles
    Zomboni->Pounds Of Flesh->Master Shafter->Slicecycles

The opening round is either Ramsterball or Zomboni. The second round is
between Ball Buster, Bounty Hunter, and Pounds of Flesh. The third round
directly correlates to the second. As always, Slicecycles ends the game.

After each round, you will receive a bonus based upon how you placed:

    Round: 1st Place - 2nd Place - 3rd Place - 4th Place
    1st: 1000 500 250 0
    2nd: 2500 1250 625 0
    3rd: 5000 2500 1250 0
    4th: 10000 5000 2500 0

(Note: You must score points to get a bonus.)

Before the beginning of the fourth round (Slicecycles), and based upon the
proportion of deficits compared to the first place player, handicaps of
multi-second delays are assigned to the contestants who are trailing.

This handicap is mostly for show, as it truly offers only a few hundred points
advantage, at best. All players are on the floor as bonus zombies are placed.

                                      MINIGAMES
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    *************
    *RAMSTERBALL*
    *************

    Controls:

    Left Thumbstick - Move Ramsterball
    Right Thumbstick - Move camera
Right Trigger - Sprint for faster movement

    Objective:

Power is randomly alloted at the start of the game. Get it, if you don't have
it. When you do have the power, build up your points to bank by crushing
zombies, then hit the bumpers to earn ("bank") your points.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Predict movement of other players to nab power as much as possible.
    - Position yourself to get the power and make an escape for big points.
    - Take advantage of the 1-2 second invulnerability after obtaining power.
    - Hitting bumpers right can help you change direction and keep a good speed.
    - Learn the ball's physics; sprint and let go appropriately. Be erratic.
    - Bank before you have to slow down.

    *********
    *ZOMBONI*
    *********

    Controls:

    Right Trigger - accelerate
    Left Trigger - reverse
Left Thumbstick - turn while accelerating or reversing
    X Button - shoot gore

    Objective:

Collect gore by running over zombies (only by accelerating, to clarify).
Shoot at one of the four targets when they are red and their mouths are open.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Remember that your gore cannon is on the top right of your vehicle
    - You can be fairly far from the target while still hitting it for points.
    - Try going around the area in a clockwise or counter-clockwise fashion.
    - Think ahead and run over zombies on the way to your next target.
    - Get rid of your gore ASAP, avoid having a full tank you can't get rid of.
    - Avoid other contestants and get used to how their bumps can affect you.

    *************
    *BALL BUSTER*
    *************

    Controls:

    Right Thumbstick - Aim
    Right Trigger - Shoot
    A, X, B, Y Buttons - Press to unjam

    Objective:

Shoot bowling balls at zombies for points. Bonus zombies occasionally appear
and can give you extra points, temporary rapid fire, or a jam on everyone
    else's cannons.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Aim for the abdomen. You have a better chance of a hit, even if barely off.
    - Move up or down, rather than left or right, since your targets are more
    vertical than horizontal.
    - Since there is a blind spot of sorts on the left side of the screen, try to
play as Red or Blue. The positioning gives you an advantage to see bonuses.
    - When jammed, you won't always hit each button: i.e. A, Y, B, Y. Just follow
the prompt quickly and try not to hit the wrong one.
    - Consistency is key. Time your shots.

    *BOUNTY HUNTER*
    ***************

    Controls:

    Left Thumbstick - Move contestant
Right Thumbstick - Move camera/aiming reticule
    Left Trigger - Aim
    Right Trigger - Shoot
    A - Jump (useless)

    Objective:

Shoot zombies (preferably bonus ones) for points. Occasionally hit jackpot.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - See objective. Only bonus zombies are worth your time.
    - Focus on one area. I prefer the entryway from the upper left or left side.
    - The jackpot target appears about 15-20 seconds in. After that, you can get
2-3 bonus zombies before the jackpot pops out again.
    - If you're not good at snatching the jackpot and end up blocked out a lot,
position yourself between the blockers towards your focus point.

    *POUNDS OF FLESH*
    *****************

    Controls:

Left Thumbstick - Move contestant/Turn while charging
    Right Thumbstick - Move camera
X Button - Charge (held), Flick (tapped)
B Button - Hit button to reload zombies
    A Button - Jump (useless)

    Objective:

Your contestant dons an antler hat to toss zombies across a gap onto a scale.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Reload quicker by charging back to the button. Do so often.
    - Fatties do give you more points, but don't waste too much time on them.
    - Charging is straightforward, but a quick flick is at a slight angle.
    - Quantity over quality again applies here, flick as many zombies as you can.

    **********
    *HEADACHE*
    **********

    Controls:

    Left Thumbstick - Move contestant
    Right Thumbstick - Move camera
B Button - Grab hats/Press hat remover button
X Button - Slam hats on zombie heads
    A Button - Jump (useless)
Left Bumper - Cycle inventory to the left
Right Bumper - Cycle inventory to the right
Left Trigger - Aim dynamite stick
Right Trigger - Throw dynamite stick

    Objective:

Put as many hats on zombie heads as you can, before you "remove" them by
pressing a button. More hats equals even more points.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Go big or go broke. Try for at least 7 or so hats before you hit the button.
    - Use the left and right triggers to throw your dynamite, preferably on the
other side from where you're placing your hats.
    - Cycle to your dynamite first, get rid of it, then grab another hat to
replace the lost slot. It's quick and efficient. Also reduces the amount of
zombies your competitors can place hats on and score against you with.
    - Stay aware of your surroundings. Better to go ahead and hit that button if
you see a stick of dynamite counting down in the vicinity.

    *****************
    *STAND UP ZOMEDY*
    *****************

    Controls:

    Left Thumbstick - Move contestant
    Right Thumbstick - Move camera
X Button - Place item on zombie
    B Button - Grab items
    A Button - Jump (useless)
Left Bumper - Cycle inventory to the left
Right Bumper - Cycle inventory to the right

    Objective:

Place items on zombies for points. Pretty Dresses and Combo Breakers provide
    extra point opportunities.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Get Pretty Dresses by placing all three of your colored items onto a zombie.
    - Get Combo Breakers by placing an item on a zombie with two items already
placed on it by another contestant.
    - Place items on zombies by bin so Combo Breakers are harder for competitors
    and therefore less likely.
    - Stay on one side, and know what each bin contains, to maximize output.

    ****************
    *MASTER SHAFTER*
    ****************

    Controls:

    Left Thumbstick - Move contestant
    Right Thumbstick - Move camera
X Button - Lock onto target
A, B, X, Y Buttons - Press when prompted to fight for control of target area

    Objective:

Wait at the targets, sometimes contesting with others, for zombies to shaft.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Move the camera around to help find targets quicker.
    - Single out the players you can beat, and engage them when possible.
    - Avoid players who are much faster at button pressing than you.
    - This is "who can press what button fastest," so play honest. Don't
give a better button masher more points, try to get your own. There are always
multiple targets. Just don't go home broke.

    *************
    *SLICECYCLES*
    *************

    Controls:
    Left Thumbstick - Turn
    Right Thumbstick - Move camera
    Right Thumbstick - Accelerate
    Left Thumbstick - Brake

    Objective:

Run over zombies. As usual, bonus zombies are the key to major points.

    Tips & Strategies:

    - Don't be dismayed by a handicap. All players will be on the floor when the
big points start coming, as the bonus zombies are placed after the first set
    of zombies has been cleared.
    - Keep an eye (and ear) out for the arrival of new zombies on the floor.
    - You don't have to be at full speed to get a lot of points. It's all about
positioning yourself to get the most bonus zombie kills. Focus on the pink.
    - Get a grip of the driving after a few plays. Eventually you can start
turning and braking to hit the bonus zombies you were riding towards, while
simultaneously setting yourself up for the next bunch.
