i use the presidential suite in the lucky 38 casino even after i destroyed mr house and it's alot better than a normal house. otherwise ther is a house at mesquite mountains crater (i don't suggest because of a ton of radiation to get there), or you can get get factions to give you their safehouse keys (such as the NCR,Legion,Or the brotherhood of steel)

There are many houses but the most significant ones u can actually OWN and is Yours are the following:
1.Novac Motel Room- Can be aquired by paying 100 caps for it. There are rumors that if you get liked or idolized in Novac and Help Boone with his problem you will get the key.
Location: Novac
2.NCR Ranger Safe house - Can be aquired by raising your rep with the NCR. Which means becoming highly liked or Idolized.
Location: Hidden south west of Repconn HQ and north of Black mountain. Should just be a door in a rock.
Warning: Deathclaws nearby on highway 15.
3. Ceasar's Legion Safe House - Can be aquired by raising your rep with Ceasar's Legion. Which means becoming highly liked or Idolized.
Location : A Hill up heading South east from Nipton. A small pre war home. with a camp fire in the front.
Warning: Glowing Feral Ghouls and Feral Ghoul reavers Just a bit more east.
4. BoS bunker - Can be aquired by raising your rep with Brotherhood of Steel. Which means becoming highly liked or Idolized.
Location: Unknown too many bunkers.
5. Vegas Strip safehouses - Can be aquired by completing certain quests.
Location: New vegas Strip

These 5 are the most admirable and known safe houses you actually own and dont just walk in.
