Part of Nier's fun and  immersion comes  from its numerous fetch  quests, which
will also be some people's  worse nightmare.  There are around  100 side quests
that you can take from NPCs  in Nier; most of them requiring  you to run around
gathering items and  running errands, going  back and forth  between places and
farming for materials. You can choose to  ignore them, but you'll miss out on a
important part of the game. 

Most of the quests are  quite tedious, but  they are a good  way to make money.
The game being divided into two parts, make sure you complete the first half of
the side quests before moving on to the next. You should have 51% of all quests
at half-point (The  Fisherman's  Gambit seems to  be the only one  that carries

Part 1 Sidequests (51%)

The Lost Eggs
Location: Village, tool shopkeeper.

The tool shopkeeper says the  village chickens are laying  eggs in hidden spots
of their own choosing. Find an egg and bring it to the client.

You can find  the egg by  examining  the glowing  object by  the tree near  the
village's fountain (close to your house).
Reward: 300 gold

Boar Hunt
Location: Village, man next to item shopkeeper.

An old man sitting next to  the item shop in the shopping  district says that a
wild boar has been injuring people in the northern plains. It's time to end its
rampage.

The boar is located close to the entrance  to Aerie in the Northern Plains. The
best way to defeat it if you're at a low  level is to lure the beast, then hide
behind one of the  big rocks around  the field.  It will ram into  the rock and
stay down for a few  seconds during which  you can attack it  a few times. Then
repeat the process  to defeat  it. Speak  with the  man afterwards  to get  the
reward.

Shopping List
Location: Village, woman on bank near market fountain (florist).

The florist in the shopping  district has  asked you to travel  to Seafront and
buy three tulip bulbs.

Just as the description says, head over  to Seafront and purchase 3 tulip bulbs
from the grocerer there, then bring then back to the woman.
Reward: 500 gold

The Gatekeeper's Errand
Location: Village, guard at the left of the north gate.

A guard at the northern gate asked you to deliver a message to the blacksmith's
wife.

This is easy. Just head  for the market  and speak with the  blacksmith's wife,
the woman sitting on the other side of the merchant district close to the south
gate.
Reward: 500 gold

Fragile Delivery
Location: Village, guard at the right of the north gate.

A guard at the  northern gate  has asked you  to deliver  a parcel to  the gold
house at the highest point  of The Aerie. The parcel is  fragile, so take extra
care when carrying it.

You need to run over to the  Aerie without touching any  enemies. Then head for
the elder's house at the top to deliver the parcel and complete the quest.
Reward: 1,400 gold

Old-Fashioned Home Cooking
Location: Village, woman sitting on the bank near market fountain.

A woman in green near  the fountain in the  shopping district  has asked you to
collect ten pieces of mutton. 

Mutton can be obtained from the sheep in the northern plains. Just kill a bunch
and inspect them to find mutton until you have ten. Note: You can do this quest
as many  times  as you   want  by selling   all your  overstock   to the  woman
anytime.
Reward: 1,500 gold

The Tavern Keeper's Grandmother
Location: Village, tavern keeper.

The tavern keeper needs three  medicinal herbs, three  berries, and three royal
ferns in order to make medicine.

Gather all the  ingredients  first. Medicinal  Herbs and  berries can  be found
everywhere around  the village  and  plains, and  the royal  fern can be  found
around the  plains,  but  is rarer.  You  can also  buy  it at the  Grocery  in
Seafront. Then you  will need to  take the medicine  to the old  woman near the
village fountain.
Reward: 2,000 gold

A Return to Shopping
Location: Village, florist. (After completing "Shopping List")

The florist needs three  bounty fertilizers  for her seeds.  They're apparently
available for sale at Seafront.

You can buy the fertilizers at the item shop in Seafront.
Reward: 2,000 gold, tulip bulb and bounty fertilizer

Fragile Delivery 2
Location: Village, old man sitting near market fountain.

An old man near the fountain in the shopping  district has asked you to deliver
a parcel to the tavern in Seafront.  The parcel is fragile,  so take extra care
when carrying it.

Just run to Seafront without touching any enemies and deliver the parcel to the
tavern keeper.
Reward: 1,450 gold

A Dog Astray
Location: Village, man in merchant district close to blacksmith.

An old man near the  shopping district's  southern entrance  needs help finding
his dog. The animal likes to roam the northern plains.

You will find the unfortunate dog in the  northern plains, on the shore next to
the bridge leading to the Junk Heap. Report back to the man after.
Reward: 1,000 gold

The Ballad of the Twins
Location:  Village,  speak  to both  Devola in  the tavern  and  Popola  in the
library.

Have Devola and  Popola sing a song  for you. Discuss  the matter  with both of
them.

After speaking with the twins,  you'll need to get a drink  to Popola, from the
tavern keeper at Seafront. However, you'll  need to gather some ingredients for
the drink. You'll need five  mouse tails (found around  the Junk Heap) and five
lizard tails (found around  the northern or southern plains).  Take them to the
tavern keeper, then bring the drink to Popola.

The Fisherman's Gambit
Location: Seafront, fisherman.

The old  fisherman  will  teach  you some   techniques  if  you can  catch  ten
sardines.

Catch 10 sardines for the fisherman. Sardines  can be caught on the beach using
Lugworms.

Location: Seafront, fisherman.

The old  fisherman   will  teach  you  some   techniques  if  you  catch  seven
blowfish.

Catch 7 blowfish. These can be caught with Lugworms on the little beach next to
the fisherman.

The old fisherman  will teach you  some techniques  if you catch  seven rainbow
trouts.

Location: Seafront, fisherman.

The old fisherman  will  teach  you some  techniques  if you  catch five  black
brass.

The New Merchant in Town
Location: Seafront, man on the boat in the port.

A man aboard a ship docked  in Seafront needs to build  his inventory so he can
begin trading. Collect ten  bundles of wool, five lumps  of natural rubber, and
ten goat hides.

Getting the materials for this  quest is a pain. The wool  can be obtained from
killing sheep, but it's  very rare. Out  of 10 muttons you will  usually find 1
wool. Same for the goat hides, which can  be obtained from killing goats on the
eastern road. Out of 10 goat  meat you will occasionally  get 1 goat hide. Just
keep on killing the animals until you find what you need. 

The Natural Rubber is  a rare material to  find in the wild  too, but it can be
purchased from  the material  shop in  Seafront.  After you  have gathered  the
materials, speak with the man on the boat  once, then leave and re-enter. Speak
to him again to receive the reward.

A Signature Dish
Location: Seafront, tavern keeper.

You've been  asked to  gather  ingredients  for the  Seafront  tavern  keeper's
signature  dish. Collect  ten  medicinal  herbs,  ten  bags of  wheat, and  ten
sardines.

The medicinal herbs can be found or bought anywhere, the wheat can be bought at
the grocerer in the Village  too, or simply harvested,  and the sardines can be
caught from the Seafront beach  with Lugworms, after taking  the quest from the
fisherman.  Bring  back these  ingredients  to  the tavern  keeper  to get  the
reward.
Reward: 5,000 gold

On the Wings of Eagles
Location: Village,  tavern keeper.  (after completing  the previous  quest from
her)

The tavern keeper needs more ingredients  for her medicine. This time she needs
an eagle egg, found in high places where the wind blows.

High places where the wind  blows obviously refers to  The Aerie. You will find
the Eagle Egg on the catwalk below the elder's  house in The Aerie. Examine the
glowing object to pick it up, then bring it back to the tavern keeper. You will
then need to take the potion to her grandma near the village's fountain.
Reward: 2,000 gold

Yonah's Home Cooking
Location: Village, Yonah.

Yonah needs venison and wheat for her cooking.

The venison can  be obtained  from the deers  in the southern  plains,  and the
wheat can be harvested or bought from the Village's grocery. Bring them back to

Location: Village, Popola.

Popola has sent you  on an herb-gathering  mission. Search the  northern plains
for two medicinal herbs and bring them back to her.

Just get her two common medicinal herbs. You should have that on you.

Book Smarts
Location: Village, girl on second floor of library.

A woman in the village library needs help  organizing some books. Take the book
and put it in the second bookshelf from the left on the east side of the second
floor.

Just look around the shelves and place the  books where indicated by the orange
arrow.

The Postman's Request
Location: Seafront, postman in post office.

The Seafront postman wants you to bring a letter to the old lady.

Deliver the letter  to the old lady  in the lighthouse  above Seafront's  beach
area.

Yonah's Gift
Location: Village, Yonah.

Yonah asked you for a melon, a watermelon and a pumpkin.

Melons can be purchased from  Seafront's grocery, and  watermelons and pumpkins
from Facade's  grocery.  You could  also  buy the  seeds and  harvest  them for
cheaper.

The Lighthouse Lady's Wrath
Location: Seafront, postman.

The lady wants to  leave town, and  the postman  has asked you to  convince her
otherwise. Go pay her a visit. 

Go talk to the lighthouse  lady  first, then return  to the postman.  Leave the
post office and re-enter to  talk to the postman again.  Head for the back room
and push the crates  around to get to the  door on the other  side. In the room
behind, examine the shiny object to pick  up the parcel. Speak with the postman
again, then return to the lighthouse  lady and speak with  her twice to get the
reward.
Reward: 1,000 gold

The Belated Letter
Location: Seafront, man near the fountain square.

A man near the  fountain in  Seafront's plaza  has given  you a love letter  he
wants delivered  to  his lover  in The   Aerie.  The recipient  lives near  the
village's chief.

Go to The Aerie and check the house on the left side of the elder's house. It's
empty. As you head back out  of the town, a monster will  attack you. Defeat it
to obtain a flower. Bring that flower back to the man to get the reward.
Reward: 3,000 gold

The Runaway Son
Location: Village, man across from blacksmith.

A man across the  way from the weapon  shop near  the southern gate  needs help
finding his runaway  son. The  young man  apparently  wears  an unusual-looking
hat.

This quest is long and annoying,  and gives no reward,  so do it only if you're
aiming for 100%. First, go  to Seafront. Talk with the  guy wearing a weird hat
in the fountain square. Then go speak with  the tarven keeper, who will ask for
some materials (5 muttons  and 3 goat meat).  Give them to him,  then return to
the Village to speak  with the dad.  Afterwards,  return to Seafront  and speak
with the man standing by the town entrance. 

Next, head over  to Facade and talk  to the two  villagers in the  upper corner
above the blacksmith. Then check the door  nearby. The son will run away. Leave
the town and run after  him through the  desert. Fight off the  wolves near the
exit, then finally the son  will return home. Go back  to his dad, only to find
out they have vanished.

Closure
Location: Seafront, postman.

You received word  from the Seafront  postman. Apparently  he has  something to
tell you.

Just head over to the post office and speak with him. That's it.

Fragile Delivery 3
Location: Village, guard at eastern gate.

The guard at the  eastern gate has  asked you to  deliver a parcel  to Facade's
weapon shop. The parcel is fragile, so take extra care when carrying it.

Deliver the parcel to the weapon shop in Facade without touching any enemies on
the way.
Reward: 3,000 gold

The Littlest Hero
Location: Facade, weapon shop owner.

The child of Facade's  weapon shopkeeper  has left  home and is  headed for the
desert. His parents want you to bring him back.

First, you will need to obtain the Royal Compass for this quest. Speak with the
guard at the right of the King's  mansion to get the compass,  then exit to the
desert to find the boy  outside. Follow  him into the sandstorm.  You will lose
him as you enter,  so walk  around until  you find  some wolves  coming  from a
stairway somewhere near the middle. Head  through the door at the bottom of the
stairs and defeat  all the  wolves inside.  You  will then be  returned  to the
dad.
Reward: 10,000 gold

Item Unknown
Location: Facade, woman in front of King's mansion.

A woman in front of the king of Facade's palace needs you to run an errand. The
rules state that she can't  expressly state the name of  the item she wants, so
you must search for ten "round, striped food objects."

The woman wants 10 watermelons. You can  harvest them or buy them from Facade's
grocery.
Reward: 3,000 gold

The Tangled Message
Location: Facade,  the guard at  the end of the  suspended bridge  right in the
center of the town.

You've been invited to join  a game where you pass messages  from one person to
the next. If you make a mistake, you must start over from the beginning.

You will need to  find 5 people  and pass over a  message from each.  The first
person is the guard at the left of the entrance.  The message is "[...] respect
their rules."

The second is  the guard  at the left  of the King's  mansion.  The message  is
"[...] work for the king."

The third person is the woman  with children around her  on an elevated part of
the city on the side (you can find her more easily if you start from the king's
mansion's roof and then walk on the edge while looking down below). The message
is "Child care can be difficult."

The fourth is one of the four  guards guarding the treasury  on the lower level
of the city. There's  one in  each corner;  check all of  them. The message  is
"Only nobility [...] the treasury."

The last person  is someone standing  on a higher  roof near the  Strange-Thing
shop. Here again, you  can find it more  easily if you look  down starting from
the king's mansion's rooftop. The message is "Quicksand".

Apology from a Fool
Location: Facade, Strange-Thing shopkeeper.

The shopkeeper at the  strange-thing store  in Facade has asked  you to collect
ten wolf  hides  as a  gift   for his  wife.  It seems   they  recently  had an
argument...

Just kill wolves in the desert until you  find 10 wolf hides. Give them to him,
then go and talk to his wife on the roof above.
Reward: 20,000 gold

The Missing Girl
Location: Facade, woman near the Strange-Thing shop, on the right.

A family near  Facade's Strange-Thing  store  cannot find  their daughter.  Ask
around Facade and see what you can learn.

You will need to ask people around Facade  for clues for this quest. The people
you must speak  with will have  bubbles over  their heads,  so they're  easy to
spot. The first person you  should talk with is a woman  in front of the King's
Mansion. The second person to talk to is someone by the sand river close to the
Strange-Thing shop.  The third person is  someone standing on  a higher roof to
the right of the Strange-Thing shop. 

Once you have talked to these three people, head down to the lower level of the
town where the treasury is.  Examine the bloodstain on  the floor in one of the
corners. Then talk to the treasury guard close by. Next, you must talk with the
guard at the right  of the town  entrance. Leave  to the desert  afterwards and
walk until something triggers. Return to the mom after to claim the reward.

Bon Appetit
Location: Seafront, tavern keeper. (after  completing "A Signature Dish" quest)


The Seafront tavern keeper needs inspiration for new meals. Head to the library
and see what you can find. 

Go to the Village's library  and examine the bookshelf  at the entrance to find
the Cookbook. Bring it to the tavern keeper, who will then request five sharks,
five bags of rice and five mushrooms. The rice can be bought in the Village and
then harvested. The  mushrooms can be found  randomly on the  eastern road, but
they aren't very common, so  you can just buy them at  the Grocery in Seafront.
To catch sharks, you will need to have completed  "The Fisherman's Gambit, Part
5" first. Then you can catch sharks using  sardines as bait at the little beach
in Seafront, right next to the fisherman. This quest doesn't carry over to Part
2, so you need to finish it before the incident at the village.

The Pride of a Lover
Location: Seafront.  This is the  only really missable  quest of  Part 1 of the
game, because it's extremely easy to overlook if you don't know about it. After
you come back  from Facade,  there should  be a  man on the  cliff next  to the
lighthouse in Seafront, with  a bubble above his head.  Talk to him, then leave
and re-enter. Talk to him again, then visit Devola in the Village to unlock the
quest. Return to the man and talk to him again to accept the quest.

A man in the open area near the lighthouse  wants you to procure fluorite so he
can make a fashion accessory for his lover. 

First, head to Facade and speak with the  Strange-Thing shopkeeper. He's out of
Fluorite,  so visit  the Barren  Temple  in the desert  instead.  You  can find
Fluorite in  different spots  inside  the temple.  I found mine  on the  bridge
before the boss room. Just examine the shiny  object, then bring it back to the
lighthouse guy.
Reward: 30,000 gold

Part 2 Sidequests (100%)

(Available from the start)

Contract for a Contractor
Location: Village, man in field with pigs near north gate.

A man milling  about   near  some  pigs  needs   some  materials   to repair  a
fire-ravaged  kitchen. Find  one memory  alloy,  ten titanium  alloys, and  ten
broken motors.

You probably won't be  able to complete  this tedious quest  until later in the
game, once you have access to the second floor of the Junk Heap factory (unless
you were lucky enough to get a memory alloy  earlier on). The broken motors are
fairly common and are dropped by the robots  on 1F. These same robots will very
rarely sometimes drop titanium alloy too,  but you need ten, so this could take
a while. Titanium alloy  is more easily  found on 2F, almost  always dropped by
the large robot enemies.  These large robots  will also drop  the memory alloy,
but not as often.  You should  be able  to gather  all the materials  by  going
through the second floor  a few times. Again,  only once you  have access to it
later in the game.

Thieves in Training
Location: Village, item shopkeeper.

The item shopkeeper needs your help finding the culprits that robbed his store.
Begin by asking around for clues.

Start by talking to the 3 villagers around  the market who have a speech bubble
above their heads to gather  the clues. Then head for  the waterwheel where the
boat docking is behind the market and talk to the two kids there. Then go speak
with their father  inside the  tavern. Claim  your reward  afterwards  from the
shopkeeper.
Reward: 3,000 gold

The Creaky Waterwheel
Location: Village, woman in the market at the right of the item shop.

The young woman with the dog in the shopping  district needs help repairing the
village waterwheel. Travel  to Facade's "strange-thing  store" and obtain parts
to repair it.

Head over  to the strange-thing  shop in   Facade  and ask for  the parts.  The
shopkeeper will need 10 iron ores and 10 logs to make the parts. Silver Ore can
be found all around  the desert (or bought  at the Junk Heap),  and logs can be
found in the plains or purchased at the  Village's material shop. Once you have
obtained the parts  from the  shopkeeper,  return to the  lady to receive  your
reward.
Reward: 10,000 gold

Life in the Sands
Location: Facade, woman at entrance of town next to mailbox.

A person near the  mailbox in Facade  wants some  seeds to grow  in the desert.
Bring the client ten pink moonflower seeds.

There is only a 10%  chance of getting pink  moonflowers, so  you'll need to be
patient. You'll need to grow them in your field. Plant Red Moonflower seeds and
Gold Moonflower  seeds on alternate  rows (one red,  one gold, one  red, and so
on). Wait a few  days until they  die (you can advance  your system's  clock to
cheat a bit). Harvest the dead crops to get Peach Moonflower seeds. Next, plant
Gold Moonflower seeds and Blue Moonflower seeds on alternate rows, like before.
Wait until they  wither and  harvest the Indigo  Moonflower  seeds. Then  plant
alternate rows of Indigo  and Peach Moonflower  seeds. Wait  for them to wither
again. If you are lucky, you will find Pink Moonflower seeds. If not, start the
process over  again  until you  hit the   10% chance.  (There  may be different
combinations to obtain them)

Reward: 10,000 gold

The Damaged Map
Location: Village, blacksmith.

The blacksmith has asked you  to find a treasure map.  Where would you look for
such a thing...?

Obviously, you need to search the library in the Village. Check the bookshelves
on the second  floor  to  find a  Dirty   Treasure  Map.  Take the  map to  the
strange-thing shopkeeper in  Facade. To repair the map,  the shopkeeper needs 3
machine oils, 3 eggplants,  and 3 goat hides.  The machine oils  are dropped by
the flying robots in  the Junk Heap factory,  but they're a  rare drop. However
this is the only way to obtain them. The eggplants can be bought at the Village
and the goat hides gotten from goats in the plains. 

After you have all the materials and after the shopkeeper has restored the map,
speak with the blacksmith's  wife. She will  ask that you find  the treasure on
the map. Go see Popola first at the library.  She will tell you it can be found
in the Lost Shrine. Check all the rooms on the second floor of the Lost Shrine;
one of them has a shiny object that turns out to be a Pile of Junk. Rebort back
to the blacksmith's wife, who will give you an hair ornament in return. 

Sell it at the strange-thing shop in Facade  to get a Gold Coin instead. Return
to the blacksmith  once again  and trade the  coin for the  Marked Map.  Go see
Popola again at the  library, then head  over to the northern  plains where the
giant bridge starts (near the Aerie and Forest). Examine the glowing spot under
the bridge remains to find the Labyrinth's Spear.
Reward: Labyrinth's Spear.

The Faded Fountain
Location: Village, guard near the market fountain.

The fountain in the shopping  district is starting to  break down, according to
the man nearby. Travel to the strange-thing store in Facade and obtain parts to
repair it.

Go to the strange-thing shop  in Facade. The shopkeeper  will ask for 10 broken
motors and 10  severed cables.  Those two  items are fairly  common drops  from

The Strange Fate of the Jewel
Location: Seafront, woman near the port.

A woman in orange at the port in Seafront  wants you to locate a treasure known
as the Mermaid Tear. Search Seafront for leads.

First, talk to the lady  near the fountain,  who has a speech  bubble. She will
redirect you to the lighthouse so head over  there and check inside to find two
letters. Go to the post  office to speak  with the postman,  then head into the
back room and push the  crates to access  the room behind. Examine  the glowing
object to find the Mermaid Tear. Return it to the client to get the reward.

Learning a Trade
Location: Seafront, man on the ship.

A man traveling  on a ship in  Seafront wants  to make a  medication that  will
prevent seasickness. 

Go to the strange-thing shop in Facade and buy a Mandrake Leaf. Take it back to
the man, who will then ask for Toad Oil.  This can be obtained from the brother
in the Junk Heap shop. However,  you might not be able  to get this until later
in the game, once the brother has returned to the shop.
Reward: 20,000 gold

Staying Afloat
Location: Seafront, man near the docks in the port.

The man with the red  sash by the dock needs  materials to fix  a boat. Collect
five logs, twenty dented metal boards, and ten stripped bolts.

The logs can be  purchased from  the Village.  The dented  metal boards  can be
found inside the Junk Heap factory, usually  from breaking crates. The stripped
bolts are a common drop from the enemies  in the factory. Take all of that back
to the man to receive your reward.
Reward: 20,000 gold

The Scattered Cargo
Location: Seafront, old woman in the fountain square.

An old lady standing under a tree in Seafront needs you to recover cargo from a
ship that was lost at sea.  Search the shorelines and  find her three pieces of
cargo.

You must find three cargo pieces. The first one is on the beach (the large one)
in Seafront.  The second  one  in the Village,  on  the lake  shore behind  the
market. The third one is in the northern  plains, on the shore below the bridge
to the Junk Heap. Once you  have all three, return them  to the lady for 20,000
gold.
OR
Choose to peek  into the  cargo, then  report the  lady to the  authorities  by
talking to the man at the town entrance to receive 50,000 gold instead.
Reward: 20,000 gold or 50,000 gold

The Masterless Lighthouse
Location: Seafront, man outside the lighthouse.

A man near  the  lighthouse  in  Seafront   needs  replacement  parts  for  the
lighthouse. Collect ten broken lenses, ten broken batteries, and ten mysterious
switches.

All the required  materials  can be  found inside  the Junk  Heap factory.  The
broken batteries  are  the most  common,  dropped  from regular  robots  on all
floors. The mysterious switches  are a little more rare,  but they can be found
on all floors and are also dropped by the same robots. The broken lenses on the
other hand are very  rare, but they  can be purchased  from the  brother's shop
(once he returns later).
Reward: 30,000 gold

The King's Mask
Location: Facade, guard at the right of the King's mansion.

A Facade royal  guard  needs titanium  alloy  and  a crystal  so he can  make a
mask.

The titanium alloy is sometimes (rarily) dropped by the small robots inside the
Junk Heap factory,  or more  commonly dropped  by the large  robots on  2F. The
Crystal can be found inside  the Barren Temple, or simply  bought from Facade's
material shop.
Reward: 10,000 gold

A Child's Final Chance
Location: Village, grocerer.

The grocerer's child  has been stricken  by a mysterious illness  after playing
with his friends. Maybe the other children would know the cause.

Ask three kids around the market to gather info. Two of them are walking around
the market  and  the last  one is  at the   end of  the bridge  leading  to the
waterwheel. They  will hint  at the Forest  of Myth. Go  there and examine  the
glowing spot near the large  tree at the back to find  poisonous berries. Leave
the area to receive an Antidote and bring it back to the mother.
Reward: 10,000 gold

A Bridge in Peril
Location: Village, guard walking around near north gate.

Dispatch the Shade that has taken up residence  near the bridge in the northern
plains. However, it seems the Shade isn't always there...

Go to the  northern   plains  near  the  wooden  bridge.  A  large  Shade  will
occasionally appear there. You need to defeat  it to obtain the reward. I'm not
sure what triggers its appearance, but for  me it appeared in the evening right
after I got the quest.  You can try leaving,  re-entering the  area or changing
the time on your console's clock.
Reward: 30,000 gold

The Great Tree
Location: Seafront, old man next to item shop.

The botanist next to the item  shop in Seafront asked  for a piece of root from
the Lost Shrine's great tree. 

Go to the Lost Shrine and defeat the shades inside. Once they are defeated, get
a piece of the great tree's root (glowing  object) and bring it back to the old
man.
Reward: 20,000 gold

Master of the Southern Plains
Location: Seafront, postman.

A large Shade has been sighted in the southern plains. The Seafront postman has
asked you to eliminate it for him.

Go to the southern  plains  near the  manor.  A large  Shade  will occasionally
appear there. You'll need to  defeat it to get the reward.  Again, I'm not sure
what triggers when it shows up, but for  me it showed up in the morning a while
after I had gotten the quest. You can try  leaving and re-entering the area, or
changing the time on your system's clock.
Reward: 30,000 gold

A Tale of the Study
Location: The butler of the manor.

Investigate a Shade that has appeared in the study.

Head to the manor and make it to the study,  which is the room where you fought
the boss before. Defeat the Shade there to complete the quest.
Reward: 15,000 gold

Search for the Shade
Location: Village, guard walking near southern gate.

The guard by the shopping district's  southern entrance  claims there's a Shade
in the village.

A kid says she spotted the Shade near the river, so go check the area where the
village's river starts, near  the pig field. There's nothing.  Go back and talk
to the little girl. Now she thinks she saw it in front of the library. Go check
near the library. Still  nothing. Now go  around the market  and speak with the
three villagers
who have speech  bubbles  over their  heads. Then  speak with  the little  girl
again. The Shade is on the  hill at the top of the village,  so take the stairs
at the entrance  of the market and  go check on  the far end of  the cliffside.
Defeat the Shade, then go claim your reward.
Reward: 5,000 gold

Research Project
Location: The butler of the manor.

The butler wants you to explore the manor's underground facility in search of a
way to restore Emil's  body to normal. A  clue apparently awaits  in the second
basement floor.

Go back to the  facility  dungeon in  the mansion's  courtyard.  On the  second
floor, check  all the small  rooms to  find  a list  in one of  them (a glowing
object). Next, go to  Seafront and head  up the stairs on the  left just before
the merchant street.  Check the  gate of the house  just above the  entrance to
speak with  a man,  who  will give  you   a letter.  Take  this letter  to  the
butler.
Reward: (none)

Freesia
Location: Seafront, man on roof above right side of merchant street.

A man who  lives above  the weapon  shop  in Seafront  asked  you to deliver  a
freesia flower to the person running the material shop in Facade.

This is really simple.  Take the flower  to the material shop  owner in Facade,
then return to the client for the reward.

The Despicable Man
Location: Village, woman in market, across from blacksmith.

The woman sitting diagonally  across from  the weapon shop asked  you to find a
young man wearing  a golden necklace.  Ask around  to see if anyone  nearby saw
him.

First, speak with the guard at the northern gate. Then, head over to the Forest
of Myth and talk to the guy at the end of the village, near the big tree. After
that, go to Seafront and speak with the  lady in the fountain square. Then talk
to the apprentice  postman  outside  the  post office.  Next,  talk to  the man
sitting above the material  shop in the  merchant street. Lastly,  head over to
the Junk Heap and speak with the brother in the weapon shop.
Reward: 15,000 gold

A Memorable Knife
Location: Seafront, tavern keeper.

The tavern keeper in  Seafront wants you  to purchase a kitchen  knife from the
Junk Heap. He's willing to pay handsomely.

Go to the Junk Heap and speak with the brother. He will need 10 titanium alloys
to make the knife. This  material is dropped  by the large robots  on 2F of the
factory. Once you have  ten, give them to  him to receive Elite  Kitchen Knife.
Take the knife to the tavern keeper afterwards.
Reward: 20,000 gold

The Shade Army
Location: Junk Heap, brother.

Collect five broken batteries and five broken  motors to repair the elevator in
the Junk Heap.

Bring 5 broken motors  and 5 broken  batteries to  the brother.  These are very
common to find  from the robots  inside the  factory. Once  you have all  that,
bring them back to him, then return to the  factory and go up to 2F. Defeat all
the Shades in the back room, then return to talk to the brother.
Reward: 30,000 gold

Bon Appetit 2
Location: Seafront, tavern keeper.

The tavern keeper in Seafront  needs ingredients for a  new recipe. Collect ten
giant catfish and ten bags of rice.

For the 10 bags of rice, buy  it at the Village's florist,  then harvest it. As
for the 10 catfish,  first catch  some carps  using earthworms  at the  Village
lake, then use the carps  as bait at the  Eastern Road river  to catch catfish.
Then bring the ingredients to the tavern keeper.
Reward: 20,000 gold

A City Reborn
Location: Facade, guard at King's mansion.

A Facade royal  guard has  asked you  for twenty  pieces of  iron ores,  twenty
pieces of clay, and twenty logs to help revive the town's fortunes.

You'll need to gather  the materials and  bring them to the  guard. The 20 iron
ores can be collected  around the  desert, or bought  at the Junk  Heap. The 20
clays can be collected  around  the desert  and plains,  or bought at  Facade's
material shop, and the 20 logs can be collected  around the plains or bought at
the Village's material shop.
Reward: 50,000 gold

A Shade Entombed
Location: Facade, guard at the right of the entrance.

A guard at Facade's  gate asked  you to eliminate  the bandits desecrating  the
Barren Temple.

Go back to the Barren  Temple and go through  all the rooms  again, solving the
riddles and defeating  the enemies.  In the last  room, defeat the  Shade boss,
then exit the temple. Defeat the bandit outside to complete the quest.
Reward: 20,000 gold

Nightmares and Dust
Location: Facade, guard at the left of the entrance.

A gate guard  in Facade  says a great  number of  people have  gone missing  in
sandstorms as of late. Perhaps you'd better investigate.

Go to the sandstorm  area of the desert  and walk around near  the center until
you encounter a large Shade. Defeat it, then return to the guard.
Reward: 30,000 gold

Disturbing the Sleep of Kings
Location: Facade, King, on his mansion's roof.

The King  of Facade  asked  you to clear  all  of the  Shades from  the  Barren
Temple.

Go back to the Barren Temple again and clear  all the rooms if you haven't done
it in the previous  quest. This  will re-open the  last door at  the end of the
back hallway.  Kill the Shades  on the bridge,  then enter  the room where  you
fought the boss before and defeat the Shade to complete the quest.
Reward: Labyrinth's Song

The Magical Stone
Location: Forest of Myth, woman.

A woman near the entrance  to the Forest  of Myth asked you  to find a "magical
stone" used in fortune-telling. Talk to Popola to get more details.

First, go see Popola at the  library. She will tell you  the stone can be found
at the Lost Shrine. Head over to the roof  area of the shrine. At the beginning
of it, there is a blue block  on the right that seems  to have no purpose. Push
it to the right as far as you can and use it to jump on the wall with the roots
(the rightmost one) to reach  a higher part of the rooftop.  You'll find Shades
and a brown block. Jump  on it to reach  another higher section  and defeat the
big Shade  in the left  corner  to receive  the Eye  of Power.  Take it  to the
woman.
Reward: 10,000 gold

Shadows of the Desert
Location:  This quest  doesn't  open up  like the  others, as  it never  really
starts. To first trigger it, you'll need to speak with a girl standing standing
above the boat  docking in the  desert. Leave  and re-enter  the area,  and you
should find her in front  of Facade next  time. Speak with her,  then leave and
re-enter again  and talk  to her a second  time.  She will turn  into a  Shade.
Defeat all the shades outside the entrance to clear the quest.
Reward: 30,000 gold
