Unable to play online with my team, any suggestions?

I'm having an issue playing W2A on the 360. Whenever I play online, rather than selecting my custom built team, with my names, voice and hat, it selects some generic computer built team with stupid accents and hats. I cannot find a single way to remedy this, and I work in QA. The interface doesn't seem to have any actual solid indicator of which team I'll be taking in, and never gives me the team I built. Any ideas?
