The whole "clone" or "real" thing is a hook, make you play the game and learn more. In TFU I you clearly see him recover from multiple 'deaths' and continue with the story line. With that in mind the story starts with him in a isolation cell, been told he's a clone with memory flashes.

Do enough brainwashing and add a dash of Mind Trick (fav move in TFU II btw)...you could confuse someone enough and break their mind.

I would think they left it open so you, the player, could decide if he's real or the clone and how that choice will make sense to you.

Ok first of all the light side ending where starkiller dies is the real ending, and the dark side ending leads into 3 other levels available via Xbox live download or the ultimate sith edition where you are the emperors assassin. Starkiller in the force unleashed 2 is a clone continuing on from the real ending of the force unleashed where he dies.

hope this answers your question mate !!!

"all the light side ending where starkiller dies is the real ending" if you didn't download anything he still dies so there were 3 endings I guess but yeah starkiller is a "failed clone:" and from the preview there maybe more than one starkiller so a 3rd game maybe in the mix if were lucky

Kota says no one can clone jedi, so the spirit of the original starkiller may be inside the clone. So his body may be that of a clone but his spirit is taking over making him the real starkiller. The emperor had clones created so he could posses them so he could live for ever which is propably what is going on with starkiller.

**SPOILER** In Force Unleashed their were two endings like as in TFU2. In both games the Light Side Endings follow the true storyline, although in TFU2, it actually leaves the possibilities for the game's storyline to go in two different directions for future sequels. Starkiller is named a "clone" after dying but most likely his "force spirit" is in this clone.

You don't actually see him die. If I remember correctly, the Emperor in TFU just brings the ship down on him. The Rebels assume he's dead. If you get the Dark Side ending of TFU 2, Vader says that he was able to create a perfect clone, which implies that you are not a clone, you are the original.

Go into the Databank and read the notes for Aberrant Clones and Dark Side Apprentice, or something like that. You read the journal entries of the scientist in charge of the cloning of Starkiller, and he makes many references to the original person, as well as to a single, successful clone, which is the clone in the Dark Side ending.

the protagonist in TFU2 is a clone who thinks he may be real... In the beginning Vader explains he hasnt perfected the cloning process, so thas why he has residual memory. In the Dark Side ending *SPOILER* another 'perfected clone' appears... which apparently was easy to tame to the dark side... it does not mean the protagonist is the original.

The unsuccessful clones , in my opinion, meant ol' darthy had a hard time getting them to stay dark side.

Wait everyone think about it have you ever heard of brainwashing maybe in TFU 1 on the light side ending where starkiller dies maybe he wasn't dead maybe he was brought back to life like when he was stabbed with a lightsaber and thrown out the window into the vast edges of space. anyways back to the point maybe just maybe they erased his memory and through his power of the force or his residual memories were coming back. just wanted to throw my hat in the ring.
