What do I have to do to play the challenge maps?

I have the robin dlc and i wanted to try the maps that came with it how do i play them?
do i have to beat the game first?

Many Challenge Maps/Campaigns are unlocked by finding certain Riddler Trophies in the Main Story. You will get a message saying that a map has been unlocked when you find that particular trophy.

Answer

You do not have to beat the game. When you open up the game file you have started I believe it is the second option over. You can then select to play as Batman, Catwoman, or Robin, and then select the type of challenge you want to try. The Robin maps are on the last page under DLC.
