"If you love Green Lantern, you might like this"
The Manhunters are androids, originally created by the Guardians to be an interstellar police force. They became obsessed with administering punishment than serving justice, forcing the Guardians to dissolve their ranks. Now they are back and out for revenge, readying their forces for a war
They're okay, nothing really that special
It's also in 3d, either using anaglyph (purple/yellow) glasses or with a real 3d tv. I tried it with the former. It doesn't really add that much to the experience except for the flying levels
The normal Anaglyph ones don't come with the game. I had to grab the free ones in the Batman: Arkham Asylum game of the year edition
The combat constructs look like they should
It's one of those standard mash buttons combat games, some of the bosses and bigger characters require finishing moves which require a quicktime event to take place, this is when the game takes over and you have to push certain buttons to trigger certain things
There are 3 levels where you get to fly through space, and these are pretty awesome. If you've played Starfox before you'll love these
There are a few puzzle elements in some levels but nothing too taxing
It has some RPG elements to it as well where you upgrade your character to become stronger, get better energy constructs and make your ring surge time last longer
The Green Lantern Ring .duh
Out of all the constructs my favourite was the rocket punch, where Hal dons a rocket pack on his back and hits the enemies with boxing gloves. It was pretty fun to see and useful to boot, especially against the flying enemies and lesser ground troops
It's highly repetitive and there isn't much variation to the enemy types and gameplay, plus some bits can get pretty frustrating even on the lower difficulty levels
It's also pretty short. I think I completed it within about eight hours
If you're an achievement whore you'll be interested to know I got 630/1000 on the first playthrough and will probably get the rest the next time through
It is great seeing the other planets and other aspects of Green Lantern that weren't shown in the film which brings me on to one of the major factors about buying this, I can only really recommend it to fans of the comics
Rent it, borrow it from a friend who has it or buy it when it comes down in price
