Will this (even though it says 3DS obviously) work with classic DS's?

  1. I know the 3DS adds 3D, but it has the option to remove 3D so I was wondering if it will work with the old DS.

  1. Well let me answer that with a question of my own: Can you play PS2 games on a PS1?

  1. Nope, due to the fact that the 3DS cartridges have a tab thing added so they can't be played on the old DS

  2. no 3DS games have a tab on them so they do not fit because it'll probably be too much for the DS , DS lite, DSi so its good because it'll probably break it

  3. No. There's a little tab that pops out on the corner edge of the cartridges of 3DS games, so that you can't put it on a DS. Even if the tab was not there, a DS won't be able to play it. You can compare this to trying to play say... Blu-Ray discs on a regular DVD player, for example.

  4. No it will not work on a normal ds because it has a little tab on the end of it so it will not fit, even if it didnt have the tab, it might break the ds

  5. No because the 3DS cartage has a tumor on the side that it got from taking some much acid to bring you the 3D that everyone knows and loves. Because of that it won't fit in the past DSs that came before it.

  6. NO.

because the games are WAY bigger then ds games due to if having a new cartrige with bigger compasity. this game is using a 4 gigabyte card, while the average ds game is 60 mb, a small % of this game.

plus the reason its so much bigger ( graphics, free flow, frame rate, 3d) require a HUGE amount of processing power (or for none tecs, RAW MUSCLE) close to that of a ps2, while the ds was barley stronger then a ps1.

so even if you got it in your ds, NO it would fry your ds, and/ or run reeealllllllly slow. for the answers above.

keep in mind the 3ds is NOT a upgrade like dsi/xl its the next gen handheld! its just happens to also be backward compatible. *not like the Sega32X*

  7. No, the 3DS is a new system so your going to need it if you want to play 3DS games. It's now only $180 with the recent price drop AND you can play all your normal DS games on it as well. I personally think it's a worthwhile investment.
