I just finished a long sub mission, the boss was a gauntlet including eye children. Before the battle I knew for a fact that I had 5500000 amrita. After the mission I only had 3900000. I was recording so I played back and it turns out these little buggers STEAL your amrita and you only get them back when you kill them?? But one of them just randomly despawned before ai had the chance to kill it! This is BS
Bart-Mangled Banner is the greatest Simpsons episode. It is great for the exact same reason american audiences hate it: because it captures them so accurately.

You get it all back only if you kill them in big oni form. IIRC.

I think they, thankfully, patched that.
Just killing them period should return the amrita.

Oh nice! Good to know that I can just bash their big round head to get my amrita then.

This was the OG Alpha farm method even, as if you had +amrita on your gear you'd get the amrita back with interest. So you just let them steal your whole amrita, kill them, and repeat for an hour. It's how people got to level 750 in the Alpha and Beta at the time.

But the bugger DESPAWNED even though it was part of a boss gauntlet. So annoying

Try not to get licked. Its never a good thing to get licked uncomfortably. Or trade blows with the lick if you can't catch up to the little guy.

I recommend just using shuriken/kunai. They are pretty fragile before they transform
Final Fantasy XIII is critically and commercially successful. By all definitions it is one of the best.
