Oh, yes, because those aren't an inconvenience/limiting at all.

Also, the games are not and shouldn't be balanced around the usage of multiple teams in one playthrough, so the EXP Share factually breaks the balance these games are built around.

I have no clue why people think the Gen VI Exp. Share makes the game easier. First of all, it's easy to begin with. That having been said, all it does is give your Pokemon that weren't in battle get experience, instead of just the Pokemon that were in battle. Seriously this. I always bring this up when I partake in this discussion, but as you can see from my response being your only reply, the argument is always ignored.
I posted something similar making something less of a grind does not equal easier.


This is a freaking JRPG. Every JRPG is easier if you level faster.

It's insane that people even think that this is an argument. The "grind" is there for a reason, it isn't just to "waste" your time.

Also, the fact is that if you grinded before, of course you're gonna love this hand-holding; but, the truth is, you should have never grinded in the first place: that's why the EXP Share, if used, makes these games mindbogglingly easy: it forces the grind a sane player would have never done, otherwise, because it doesn't divide the EXP like it used to do. I can't believe people are so blind to numbers or the truth to not see this.

They could literally not change the mechanics at all and just change the name of "EXP Share" to "Easy Mode", and everyone who thought it made the game too easy would just shut it off with no complaint and we wouldn't be having this conversation at all.

Pretty much. Most JRPGs can be made trivial by experience grinding. Whether it goes by fast or slow doesn't change the difficulty, only the time it takes.

More time of repeating the same action over and over =/= More difficulty

Yep. Grinding is a last-resort effort at beating something you can't at the moment.

@ people ranting about how it makes it easier and non challenging: if you have a problem with it thats your personal opinion/experience a lot of us prefer it this way for those who are more into competitive battling/collecting things like brs/breeders, if you want challange, either turn it off and stop whining or go competitive battle and stop whining

.. You quoted someone who, tmu, is against the new EXP Share.

Also, "stop whining" is not a valid counterpoint: of course I play these games without the EXP Share, because it frankly doesn't make sense otherwise, at least if you're playing like the developers intend you to play - ergo, how the games are balanced around, using a full team for most of the game, not grinding etc.

What you say helps with the competitive side doesn't have to do anything with the main game, and, in fact, completely trivialize it, to the point where you might as well play a simulator.

I'm not saying that the new EXP Share has to be removed (because then who would stop the whining of spoiled kids), but at least introduce the old one to let us easily make a weaker newly catched mon catch up with the rest of the team without jumping through absurd hoops to not overlevel the rest of the team, and be more considerate about your game balance with the new EXP Share in it, or, honestly, unlock it later and/or not consider it at all for your level curve (what they did in XY) because there's no way to balance it around and not ruin the experience for players who don't use it.

Main game is easy with and without.

Turn it off if it bothers you.

Leaving it on saves you some time though.
